Arrow 5x11 "Second Chances" Poll!

I love Katie Cassidy, but she was terrible with the fight choreography, which is rather important for Black Canary and they messed up her story arc, to the point that it was not believable that she could compete with the likes of the league of shadows, so they had to replace her. It is not ideal, but the fact that Dinah is already a trained fighter and a meta, makes more sense for the character.

Ab-so-lut-ely love it. Shes great.

Although I felt the story seemed a little too convenient (there just happens to be another woman named Dinah with a canary cry, who is a skilled fighter) the fact that she's Dinah Drake made me feel a lot better about the whole "replacement Canary" storyline.

This episode brought me around to her. If I had my druthers, it's still be Black Siren who goes by Dinah and becomes the new Black Canary, but this is not a horrible alternative like I thought it might be.

Still not feeling it, I mean what is this the fifth black canary now? Stop trying to make it happen. If your not going to have the character we actually care about and have been following for the last 4 seasons then dont have a Black Canary at all! Team Arrow is already overcrowded as it is anyway so no need for another new vigilante on the team.

Actually its never mentioned in the show that her name was Dinah Drake... so yeah

Unlike Laurel this new Canary is already a skilled fighter and doesn't require a device to function while still having the inner demons she must struggle through. Also, the fact that she was a cop in Central City is just an awesome addition! Best scene, the Flash leaving a post-it note saying that the Green Arrow is legit! Lol

While I like the actress and the character, I'm still not sure if it's a good idea. The new Dinah will either stay in Laurel's shadow, or she will outshine her. I find neither option satisfying. - Trivia: The comic counterpart of the villain, Sean Sonus, was created by Andrew Kreisberg.

I was against a new black canary because it seemed too convenient and it still is, but this character is waaaaaaaay more Black Canary than Laurel ever was. So, I can't help but like her and root for her.

I like her more of a BC than Laurel. Her character didn't seem to fit it and they did a terrible job with her and her stunts. This new girl seems like a strong actor and feels more suited as it.

Personally, little details from the comics mean nothing to me. I just accept everything that happens as part of the story, even if I don't like certain storylines like Olicity and killing Laurel.

in my opinion, Laurel was not that great of a character, especially being Black Canary. I'm more interested in Dinah Drake and see where they take her character.

She kicks ass. I love her attitude. And I love they went with Dinah Drake even though they veered off the comic story a bit to get her there.

I'm still not on board, I'm willing to give it a change however I don't like the sound of The Black Canary being anyone else than Loral. I hope they just don't make this new girl a complete copy now she's on the team. Does she need the same look?

I like this because I think they need to make a choice on wether or not they want Laurel back or not. It's getting a bit annoying that she keeps popping back up(Even though I love Katy Cassidy).

I like Dinah's character a little more but the jury's still out. I still think the show needs to do more with Black Siren. Maybe an episode where Felicity secretly uses her to help with something from Pandora's Box and Black Siren realizes/remembers that she likes helping others.

I would've been onboard with Tina Bolland anyway, cause the episode was so damn good, but the fact that they tied it into the Canary legacy made it that much better I don't care if they recycled the name different people have the same name all the time, there's like 7 billion of us total!!

I like that they're going for a more traditional Black Canary, but I hate that it took them this long to get there instead of just having her be like this from the start.

I have to admit that at the end of the last episode, I didn't like her, but now I can see her being part of the team.

Both Laurel and her mom are named Dinah. Laurel's full name was Dinah Laurel Lance, but she went by Laurel. Also she was named after her mom Dinah Lance whose maiden name was Dinah Drake.

Apparently the writers just forgot that Alex Kingston's character is also called Dinah Drake and is Laurel and Sara's mom and Quinten's Ex Wife. Also she lives in Central City too.

I'm just glad she's finally named Dinah. Been waiting for that since the show started. And she's got an attitude more like the Canary I grew up with on JLU: snarky, sassy, and a perfect complement for Oliver.

I never had an issue with any of it. Laurel was killed off last season and I never really felt a need for her character to return.
