Just to let you guys know the other World of Remnant episodes are not on YouTube and instead only on the Rooster Teeth website and Crunchyroll. Don't know the reason why but that is the situation. There is also 4 episodes that aired during Volume 4 instead of the usual 3 episodes.

Um, the Scythe could always transform into a spear or "War Scythe" mode. She did it in her original trailer, and a few times in volumes 1-3. Also, remember, Ruby never said her semblance was speed, she just said she was not slow. Pyrrha said it was speed. Pyrrha barely knew Ruby at all when she said it. The only people who would know for sure at that point in the story were Ruby, Taiyang, Qrow, and Yang. None of them have ever said what it is at this point. Its clearly more than just a speed increase. Ruby's speed feats without the rose petal thing are not very good compared to Mercury, Weiss, Blake, etc. In my(and many others in the fandom at the release of this trailer) opinion, we still don't know what her semblance is. But clearly its more than speed increase. She literally turns into a cloud of Rose Petals. She can move in any direction at will and can split into 3 parts. She traveled up the tower here very slowly as petals. Also, even with the speed increase she is proven slower than Mercury, who is nothing compared to the Ozluminati or Cinder or Winter. You really over estimate Ruby in terms of her full capabilities.

I love the new animation using the Maya engine. I know it was already being used on RWBY Chibi but it’s so much better seeing it done in a relatively more realistic way. I think the animation looks so much better and smoother and in my opinion more well-defined. Also the human facial look amazing. I enjoy the more subdued beginning without music. I love how you can tell that Ruby is older with longer hair and I think she’s taller. The new outfit is great and I think parts of it are story wise a tribute on Ruby’s part to Penny because some parts of her outfit reminds me of Penny’s outfit. Also her cloak appears to be tattered at the and Crescent Rose looks scratched and scuffed. Probably because she isn’t able to maintain it all the time. It’s awesome and kind of hilarious that Ruby hitched a ride on a Nevermore and then kills it to get to the burning village. I have heard this village called the Besieged Village. The clothing of the villagers we see is simpler then clothing in the kingdoms probably because of their nomadic tendencies as mentioned in WOR. I love that she had a superhero landing outside of a church. I am still interested in what kinds of religions and how many religion’s there are in Remnant. Well I think it’s a church because of the statues. I think the new effects on the Grimm are great especially the trailing eyes affect. The fights were very well animated in my opinion. I love how during both the Beowolf and Beringel fights Ruby demonstrates more control of her semblance and new ways she can use her semblance. The most obvious is she seems faster and she can now move in multiple directions while using her semblance which considering what happened with Merc it makes sense. The new way she used her semblance that I am most interested in is apparently being able to split into 3 things of roses to dodge an attack. Either she’s able to move so fast it looks like she split or she’s able to deconstruct and then reconstruct herself. I like that one of the Grimm was throwing stones at Ruby because even though they are simple those are tools. This shows that some Grimm can use tools although it’s probably just the more intelligent and older Grimm. I think it’s awesome that when the ricochet from the gunshot sent Ruby flying she was able to rebound by jumping off of a Nevermore. I loved the design of the Beringel when it was just concept art but it was even better animated. The cool thing about it’s name is that it references the name for the Eastern Gorilla. Another cool thing is that to mimic the gait of a gorilla in mocap recording Rooster Teeth used children’s crutches. I think half it’s face is damaged because that’s just what this species is like however if not this might indicate that it’s an older Grimm. Such as throwing a Beowolf at Ruby as a distraction, using its bulk to its advantage and blocking gunshots with its bone armor. However it might be older because on it’s face there might be battle damage and on its bone armor there is definitely damage. Although Ruby does seem to be better at dodging and blocking and although we didn’t see it maybe hand-to-hand combat. One reason the Beringel might be 1 of the strongest Grimm is Salem’s symbol being directly on its back. I really want to know why the symbol is on it’s body. I love the music that starts when the roses are flowing out of the church/Clocktower because it feels like a slower and more ominous Red like Roses. Running up the clock tower to gain momentum and keep it going to trip up the Beringel was really smart. Also Ruby framed against the moon was probably the best shot in this video. I saw a comment on another video I watched that apparently the design on the clock face was also apparently in the vault at Beacon which may or may not be foreshadowing for something in the future. Her then using her speed to create a whirlwind to throw it into the air to have enough momentum and leverage to get through its armor while turning Crescent Rose into a glaive mode with a headshot at the end was in my opinion some amazing choreography. I think the thing Ruby’s cloak did might just be something they thought would be a cool animation. However I’ve heard a theory on a forum I go on that perhaps her cloak is magical in some way. I came up with a theory of my own I think it is infused with Dust and weaving Dust into clothing is something Summer Rose did a lot. I also think that all of the living members of the Rose–Xiao–Long family have garments that were made by Summer. Such as Yang’s orange scarf, Tai’s red armband and Qrow’s cloak. When Jaune, Ren and Nora call at the end since we can’t see their outfits all we can tell is that their hair is longer. Also since it says local area only there hasn’t been any attempt to create a new transmit tower or if there has it hasn’t worked. I think Ruby sounding angrier when attacking and sounding practically gleeful to be killing Grimm is her going full Blood Knight. The times of day/night the members of team RWBY were shown at might be symbolic of how their storylines will be tone wise. Ruby and Weiss being at night represents dark times ahead for them. Weiss is probably dealing with her father and learning about her mother. If Blake is at dawn it represents hope and a new beginning or light after a long night, if Blake is at sunset to me it represents a resolution. Blake is probably dealing with Adam and maybe doing what some people want her to do and rallying faunas joining a new group called the Black Fang. Also her costume is definitely influenced by Seto Kaiba’s from Yu-Gi-Oh. Yang being in the middle of the day represents that even if her plot is not dark but sad it will have a peaceful if not happy ending. I love that she has a ponytail now because I don’t mean to sound creepy but I find women who have ponytails to be cute and sexy. Also some people have said there is a shadow in the door or window of the house she is at which if so is probably Tai Yang. Which could mean we are going to get character development for Yang through character development for Tai. Probably dealing with Raven. 2 things I have heard that I do not completely agree with are that Grimm look different not just because of different animation but because this is just how they look outside of the kingdoms and that the Grimm might turn out to be like alien races from Halo or Gears of War. 1 last thing is that I think this is what team RNJR has been doing the entire time skip fighting Grimm and saving villages. Actually something cool would be if when she uses her speed Ruby turns into roses or her cloak let’s her do this. Also I really think we are going to get some good character development for everyone but it’s especially needed for Ren and Nora this season.

There was actually a 6-8 month time skip between Volumes 3 & 4 and Ruby is 16 years old now.

Ash from Pokemon was 10 years old in 1997, it is now 2017 and he is still 10 years old. RWBY Volume 1-3 all happens in 1 year. There is a couple of months Time Skip between Volume 3 and 4 and Ruby is still 15

Fun fact: you know the first 3 volumes? Those were apparently only Act 1 of the story. Thus why episode 12 of vol 3 was called "End of the Beginning". Volume 4 is the start of Act 2

OMG I'm so glad you did the character short trailer before beginning V4! I thought you said in MB that you were just going straight into V4 and the short may or may not be later. Feeling trolled and yet so happy to see this. :)

You're right, they changed from using Poser Pro to using Maya for this Volume. And yes, the Grimm Dragon has been dubbed "Kevin" to stop all the arguements about whether or not it's a dragon or a wyvern.

Also, note that there is a 6-8 month timeskip, that is why Ruby has been able to control her semblance more now.
