2024-12-11 10:05:14 +0000 UTCWith music that people don’t listen to intently and don’t care about who writes it or who performs- it’s like end stage screen addiction. There’s loads of slop to keep you busy or satisfied with no necessity to engage on a deeper level. You can’t expect anyone now to remember the last 2 or 3 songs/videos they listened to, because they’re not meant to care, they’re supposed to tick up the number of streams/views for the revenue. When someone says music they could be talking about what Apple Music playlist they have on in the background or what they learned to do on the guitar by watching their friend play. It’s two separate worlds. I can say though that there are more artists now, I only worry how many of them feel the need to make popular stuff compared to just doing what they want and what’s interesting.
