2024-11-09 00:01:13 +0000 UTCTo add to this, if you remember the time he survived the assassin encounter, he asked Emilia her name because in his previous loop (when he didn't know about his Return by Death ability) he ran after her to apologize and called her Satella, in which she basically said "the fuck did you just call me??"

Emilia called herself Satella back in the first episode when they originally met cause when she met him, she wasn’t trying to drag him into her mess so by saying that name she pretty much wanted him to leave. Since the witch is also a silver haired half-elf exactly like her, things can get pretty judgmental really quick.

Her appearance already fits that of the witch that people hate so much so she figured if she told Subaru her name was Satella that he'd buzz off, but obviously since he has no world knowledge it didn't phase him
