Vote Update Re: HxH

I 100% noticed a bit of push and pull about HxH.
IF HunterxHunter wins the vote I will just do the 1st Arc (28 ep I think) and get an initial HxH viewing experience.  I did not know it was 148 episodes long.  I was just going with what got the most suggestions.  I do think 148 is far too much for a Patreon feature as it would take me like a year to watch all of it.

Agree. Tough part about HxH is also that the best parts are most definitely NOT in the first 28 episodes.

As for english streamers, it was around 1.5 years ago they all came together to watch anime. roughly 200+ episodes of naruto/deathnote /hunterXhunter were streamed by the top streamers (xqc/toast). They didn't stop until japan twitter got the companies involved. Twitch doesn't have content-id so you need to draw a lot of attention and someone official to notice and send a DMCA

Kegs

im from chile so im used to watch more hispanic talking streamers and there is plenty of them doing it but maybe for english streamers there is more control about it

Miguel Guzman

they do it but after the transmition they delete the video

Question. Do other reaction people stream anime on Twitch for a live reaction? How do they not get their channel banned for doing that? That seems so risky unless I'm not understanding something

DrumRollTony

I think folks perceive that I have free time like that 👀

DrumRollTony

may be you could watch it as a normal anime at your pace or in twitch

Miguel Guzman

I don't think I'm being fully understood because it's text but anyway the post says what it says

DrumRollTony

Yea but when you say 148 episodes is too much, it makes it seem like you arent going to watch it

Jonesy

Yea i agree, its a great show, but its pretty long and honestly theres so many shorter animes that I think would be better suited but still give you the highest quality.

Pork_Katacurry

That's LITERALLY what this post says 👀😅

DrumRollTony

Yeah that's why I voted for something else. HxH is a great show, but a patreon reaction series is just not a good format to do it. It's so many episodes it'd be better to just watch it on your own some time so you can watch a few in a row or something. Also HxH takes a *long* time to really get going. By the time you get through that many episodes, another anime would already be done.

FullHeart

you should probably watch it an arc at a time

Jonesy

It's not a hard rule but a lot of the older anime didn't use the modern format of 12 or 24 eps per season and instead ran uninterrupted until they ran out of source material. Especially shounens.

it is what it is, majority vote'll win. Vinland is good too, but Eighty-Six is a faster-burner, that he would enjoy, and especially the OSTs, Kohta and Hiroyuki, same as AOT, so he will definitely have a ride with that one. Was Vinland's ost composers, also hiroyuki or kohta? i know the studio is Mappa though

i ruined myself with fullmetal... i watched the other one instead of fmab.....

ジェイス「 j a c e 」

yeah, any show with more than 100+ episodes is a slowburn, so i dont think he would enjoy it. Similar to your lie in april, he started getting annoyed with the pete and repeat, which is understandable, sl this one would definitely be even longer. First arc of hxh doesnt have much to offer in terms of wow factor, but it sets the stage and introduces the important characters. Eighty-Six however is a fastburn, so he would definitely enjoy that one more. But majority vote is the king Eighty-Six's OST composers is also the same as AOTs, one benefit of that for sure. Hiroyuki and Kohta goated for intense osts

Pretty sure he is talking about the 2011 version already. It's still long.

Lixien

Yeah, that's very fair! I love HxH but it's a huge commitment to watch all of it.

Proxy

If HxH wins, there is the reboot version of the series (2011 I think) which removes much of the filler of the original series and goes directly into the important stuff.

Just passing by

That’s good compromise I think. Thankfully as the story is broadly broken into arcs you could just tackle it bit by bit (assuming you’re enjoying it). Rather than commit to that many episodes all together.

I'm still waiting for Tony to trip off Tucker in Brotherhood aka FMAB . Then let's not forget that Samurai Champloo is only 20+ episodes but is one of the greats, as well as will satisfy Tony music-ly.

Comon' guys. Y'all know it should be Vinland for this format, and I'm a huge Hunter x hunter fan. Reason being, is that Tony will watch the first arc and probably say he doesn't understand why it is good. You folks know it doesn't get serious until Phantom Troupe. Maybe Tony can do a crash course spoiler that leads to Phantom Troupe, and do the pateron on the Troupe arc. I felt similar about Jojo. Don't hate me, but that could have started with Stardust Crusaders for this format.

Walt D

And that’s the energy I come for, ngl

Nathan Elkin

Othe reactors? Gotta end that. Only DRT /S hahaha

DrumRollTony

Fair enough. I’m laughing to myself, not because it’s a long show or really good, but because you’re the third reactor I’m watching who currently wants to watch it.

Nathan Elkin

I imagine its great. But this is a community Patreon. So IF that does win and we get that far I will put it to a vote again.

DrumRollTony

Listen, it’s one of the goated stories. Once you’re that deep in, it will be hard to stop
