204 - Dev Blog

Hello, hello! Here's your friendly neighborhood ghost Banshee with yet another sPOoOoKy dev blog! Ah yes, Vane always starts these with random stuff, so let's see... Mr. Banshee made me download this new Ragnarok game and it feels like 2008 all over again. Does anyone need a priest in their party? I'm very proficient at spamming Sanctuary!

First things first, let's address the undead elephant in the room. The obvious lack of a release! Let me start by sincerely apologizing for this delay. We absolutely dread the thought of letting any of you down, but even with our best efforts, we failed to meet our deadline last week. We hope you understand, and we will continue to work hard in the future to avoid these situations.

Now, onto the reasons for this delay! We continued to have some back and forth about the collab scene with Kalyskah (with both parties wanting to deliver the best scene possible), leading us to consider cutting it from the build initially, due to how close the release date was. However, this left a noticeable gap in the content. Despite Vane's efforts to salvage the situation with half-written scenes, many required further refinement and some were not up to standard. Unfortunately, his progress was hindered by a nasty flu (that he still hasn't recovered from because he still insists on working his butt off GODDAMN IT VANE!!).

The current build, though small at 4k words, primarily consists of bugfixes, code improvement, and romance scenes after Catherine's crowning, offering a limited variety of content. So, many of you would only see around 500 words of new stuff, and that just wouldn't do!

Acknowledging these challenges, Vane and I have decided to postpone the release by a week (until this weekend, that is!). This extra time will allow for a more polished and content-heavy update. The plan is to, of course, include the scene with Kalyskah, but there's a small chance we'll include a slightly different scene instead! We appreciate your understanding and patience, and once again we're very sorry for this delay.
