Housekeeping question for the community
Added 2020-08-20 08:20:23 +0000 UTCPatreon recently made it possible to offer full year subscriptions.
What do you all think about it? Should I spend the time looking into it? Is this something any of you would want?
I'm honestly curious about this, because I want to make sure you guys get what you all want, but I assumed this would be a non-starter this year because of 2020 being 2020.
Thoughts?

Part of the value of Patreon is the ability to walk away if my finances took a hit (I had to prune it during covid quarantine for example)... but there are authors I would want to maintain regardless - so I have some interest. So if you want to spend the time to figure it out, I’m a maybe? Not sure that’s reason enough to split your time...

2020-08-20 12:09:42 +0000 UTCIf you wish to do due diligence, SubscribeStar, Sponsus.org, WattPad, StoriesOnline, and Smashwords may be of interest. I've used each at least once, and while IMO none are as 'big' as Patreon, they all seem to have some beneficial quirks as well as downsides.

2020-08-20 11:24:36 +0000 UTCI appreciate the concern. I've opened a buymeacoffee.com account. It's not as easy to post to etc as Patreon, but I want to keep that open as an option to jump to if Patreon sinks, or for readers to use if they have fallen out of love with Patreon
