Here we have the big versions of that candid Nyx portrait I put up on FA the other day, this being the alternative version I forgot I'd done, but the look didn't satisfy me, so I stuck with the "plain" one. One of these days I'm going to have to put some work into studying dried blood for shit like this. Shouldn't be too hard. I have several neighbors I'm sure wont be missed 9_9
I never thought of the full context of how this image came to be, but it's very much the slightly bemused "Put the camera down, hun. I'm working."-look that I was going for and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
While her style is by no means exclusively old-fashioned, I am referencing a lot of turn-of-the-(previous-)century clothes for her, which is probably what's giving her the Mordecai-esque look some have attributed to her - that, and the glasses XD

Last image is just an escalated doodle I did last night after a good doodle session with Kalahari (which spawned the shotgun hamster, albeit that concept was thought up by someone else).
It's nothing majorly impressive and is very much meant to lean on 40k illustration materials (as per it's content too), but it's a good showcase of just how little detail you need to put into something to make it look good (if I may say so myself :b).
I've been re-playing GoldenEye 007 over the last week and I've finally arrived at their Moonraker homage in Aztec, that features the garishly colored jumpsuit troops, and I wanted to apply some of that aesthetic to something resembling an Imperial Navy ground crewman, since I felt that was an appropriate place for such a look.
