Added 2025-09-17 21:25:01 +0000 UTCThis is a more recent sketch page I started after Ollie proposed a little collab. I've been in love with his Lutrai (otter people) pretty much forever and I wanted to do this girl justice. The first idea wasn't clicking -- I just couldn't get the energy or weight I was imagining, even after multiple copy-pastes and variations. So I started over with some very gestural ideas and finally got the result I was after. I went for something that would blend well with his style, and he took it the rest of the way in his reworking of the lines, which he colored in beautifully (FA | e621).
A very excited Juno is ready to teach some kind of camp craft, and there's some fire-spinning for good measure. Opossum guy is getting incorporated into a current project, so expect more of him...

Some of those Juno ideas just demand more exploration... the fire spinning especially, but I think wearing the bandana is a fun look for her!

2025-09-19 18:22:50 +0000 UTCThat's really awesome you ended up with the original. I'm looking forward to the chance to finally see one of Ollie's originals in person. As much as I enjoy working with pencil on paper, it's great to know I can rework a layout over and over (within reason) digitally until it looks the way I imagined. And on those occasions where I do work traditionally, it's still a good way for me to brainstorm ideas until I settle on something.
