Hyaenodon

Another prehistoric mammal, and one of my favorites -- Hyaenodon horridus. They lived from the Eocene through the Miocene, this species inhabiting North America. They belong to a group of mammals that used to be called creodonts (now placed in Hyaenodonta) separate from but evolving alongside members of the order Carnivora.

I've been sketching out a lot more Hyaenodons, so don't be surprised if they show up again. It's really neat playing around with the kind of prehistoric world that they inhabit and trying my hand at some kind of anthro paleoart. I'm not going for total accuracy by any means, but don't hesitate to offer pointers if you have some knowledge on the species or the time period -- I'm still educating myself.

This is fantastic. I really hope you keep this up. I'm learning so much about something I didn't even consider before. Very cool! Great anatomy too. Wondeful adaptation from the original species. Cool markings too.

I think, were I to pick some species, I'd be interested in perhaps Megatherium, Thylacoleo, and simply because I'm a rodent guy, Canariomys haha

Oh man, I love that idea. Seeing a bunch of long-extinct species as anthros? I'm all for this! :D

Jakerabbit

Please please do! Yes, I love the down-to-earth, back-to-basics vibe of truly prehistoric characters. You have any species calling for attention?

Kalahari

Looking forward to this display at your local natural history museum!

Little Napoleon

Lovely! I may have to doodle up some prehistoric babes myself because of these pieces you've done! Aesthetically speaking too, you can't get much more naturist in themes than pre-history! Strictly survival in the elements!

ThatDirgeDude

Yes, yes, and yes. I'd do anything for her.

Yoo, this is outstanding. Look forwards to seeing what you draw next!

Kiko

She wonderful. Awesome to see some really unique mammals. I also really like how her boobs actually look like they have some weight to them rather than just being gravity defying hemispheres

Scout the Otter

I think you captured that pose much better than I did. 😉 Nice work
