DEVIANT ARTのAI画像制作システムを使ってみた / I TRIED DEVIANT ART'S AI PICTURE DRAWING SYSTEM

　pixivの利用者の皆さん、ことに海外からいらしている方ならDeviant Artをご存じの方も多いでしょうし、pixivとDeviant Artの両方を利用している方も多いかと存じます。筆者も両方に登録しています。

Many of the users of pixiv, especially the guys from overseas, will surely know of Deviant Art. I believe that quite a few guys register for both pixiv and DA, as I myself do.

　現在、Deviant ArtではAI画像制作システムを公開していて、メンバー登録者なら誰でも使用できます（一般登録者は一週間当たりの利用数に制限があります）。そこで、どんな絵が描けるのか筆者もちょっと遊んでみました。筆者がAIに描出してほしいのは、もちろん「WAM姿なおっさん」です。融けた蝋やチョコロートに頭のてっぺんから足の先まで覆われたガチムチの髭おっさんがAIで量産できたらどんなにか素晴らしいことでしょう。自分で描く作品のアイディアにも止揚できますし、もちろんオカズにも困りません。

　コンピューターがどれだけWAMの楽しさを理解してくれるか、挑戦あれといったところです。

Recently Deviant Art has been providing an AI picture drawing system, which any members can use (although general members have the limitation how many items they can create per week). When I learned it, I felt I should have some fun with it, and had some try. What I would like the AI to draw is, of course, THE MEN IN THE WAT-AND-MESSY SITUATIONS. It would be a perfect happiness if the AI provided lots of stout and/or hefty men with facial hair who are covered with melted wax or chocolate from head to toe! I could upheave them to my drawing ideas, and they could even be used as the material for w*nking...

It would be challenging enough to investigate how deeply an AI comprehends the joy of WAM fantasy.

　結果は……だいたい予想はお付きでしょうが、いまいちです。

　どのようにいまいちなのか、幅広い視点ではなくあくまで私の入力したプロンプトをどれほど反映した作品に仕上がっているかという点で記述してみますね。

The result is... as you can expect, not so much of it.

Let me tell you how it was not so much of it, in the regard of how the AI reflected the prompts that I wrote, not in the more general point of view.

　まず、筆者は人物の顔面を蝋やチョコレートで覆ってくれるようにAIに依頼しているつもりなのですが、AIは全くその指示に従ってくれません。顔はほぼきれいなままです。プロンプトを工夫して、何とか顔にチョコレートを塗りつけてもらいましたが、それでも眼は開けたままで目の周りにはチョコレートを塗ってくれません。

　筆者がWAMイラストに望むこととしていちばん大事なのが、頭部が完全に覆われていることだというのに、頭部がきれいなままでは台無しです。もっとちゃんとした蝋燭人間やチョコレート人間を描いてくれないとせっかくAIを利用している意味がありません。

　それから、顔が結構ワンパターンぎみです。これはコンピューターで生成している以上致し方ないのかもしれません。

First of all, I asked the AI to cover the face of a man with wax or chocolate. But the AI did not follow it and left the face clean. I made some variations and managed to make the AI daub the chocolate on the man's face, but it still kept the man's eyes open and clear of chocolate.

What I think the WAM drawing should be is the complete coverage of the head and face. The AI does not cover the head at all and spoils all the fun. Using the AI will be senseless when it would not produce more proper men-in-candle or men-in-chocolate.

And the AI gives the men's faces too much uniformity. It may not be helped as long as I use the computer system to draw pictures.

　やっぱり人間の想像力のほうが一枚上手でしょうかね。それとも、もっと事細かに描写しなければ筆者の望むようなWAMイラストは生成されないのでしょうか。あるいは、Deviant Artの提供している無償のAIではなくて有償のAIを利用すれば、もっと筆者の理想を反映したWAM絵が描けるのかもしれませんが、いまはまだ絵を描くのに大枚をはたくつもりはありません。

　AIの将来にちょっとだけ期待しつつも、WAM絵は筆者が自己生産することといたします。

Perhaps I could say my imagination is still better than the AI work. Or it may demand much more detailed prompts to create the WAM drawings in the standard that I expect. Maybe I could have the WAM drawings with more reflection of my imagination depicted when I pay and purchase an drawing-specialized AI instead of using the free-of-charge AI, but I don't yet feel like paying for drawing.

Wet-and-messy drawings should be more precise when I draw them by myself... because the AI's drawing talent is still on the horizon.
