Basically, the new fee implementation is part of their business model to weed out low-income patrons and creators so Patreon can make itself a Successful Empire full of affluent creators. ^_^
I was ambivalent about using Patreon's services until I read that it would happily crap on "the little people" who helped build them. I will keep my Patreon account open until March 2018 at least, and meanwhile I will keep you all updated on where I plan to go:
Gumroad is going to be switching to a flat service fee of $10/mo and waiving all transaction fees, sometime in the first quarter of 2018 (source, CEO of gumroad). A flat fee is how I maintain my online shop, so I am already comfortable with this.
Gumroad already offers a subscription system as part of their product features. You'd purchase it once as a product, automatically get charged monthly, and could unsubscribe anytime. Subscribers would receive email updates for their rewards. I know that one concern was switching between platforms to be engaged, so I thought this is a viable solution.
PS: The Discord would still be open to patrons :)
However, this all depends on what you guys want to do. so I've set up another poll. Please be perfectly honest and realistic in your vote and feedback!

2017-12-10 13:01:58 +0000 UTCAt the moment i think i wil take anything above Patreon, so i will follow you where you go and hope to give again as much (or more) then before. -- These idiots could just have said 2-3 months ago: "Listen, we are not interested in you little worms, we want to be a million dollar company only for the rich artists - you now have some time to chose what you want." - But no they had to put the gun to your head and just say eat or die (they really thought people would go with it?)
