We passed a magical milestone last night, with 500 patreons. It's hard to over-emphasize how touching that is, especially in these troubling times. It's only a little over a year since the first patreon arrived; I only set up the patreon account after a number of people told me I was being an idiot.
Originally the game was supposed to be completely free, but as the year went on and the pandemic bit my day-job pretty hard, it's become pretty much my primary ways of paying the mortgage and keeping food on the table. Between Patreon and Steam I finally managed to turn a corner; without it I would have needed to find a job flipping burgers. Or at least flipping code. So thank all of you for helping me keep my dream game alive.
I still *have* a day job, though I finally got paid there for the first time in 16 months last week. I'll talk a little more about that this week, as we've got a relatively cool announcement. I haven't ever done a podcast before, but I figured it might be a fun time to try something new (something I'm forever a sucker for)
Anyway... I just wanted to say thank you to all of you. Regardless of the support level, or if you've had to drop out as this crazy year and economy bites (hopefully you can still see this message). I wouldn't have made it here without you all. Discord kept me sane, Patreon kept the lights on, and Love of Magic allowed me to grow as a creator, writer and developer. You guys taught me so much.
And now... I'll get back to work. Act VII+ won't make itself.
