NYCC Experience

Hello everyone! I thought I’d share a bit of my time at NYCC! It went very well and I had such a great time speaking with everyone who came to say hi to me!

I was actually super nervous for the book signing. I was so worried I was gonna mess up everyone’s book with my chicken scratch handwriting lol but everyone was so kind and a few people even brought me some gifts and goodies! 😭💖💖

On Sunday I was part of a queer trivia panel with some other authors hosted by the drag queen Skye Walker. She was SO funny (she was dressed as Shego from Kim Possible) and the panel was a ton of fun! Thankfully I didn’t have to do anything on stage so I was less nervous haha. I just moved from table to table helping teams with trivia.

There were a few Castle Swimmer readers on the teams and they were so sweet 💖 I was so grateful I got to meet them!

I also got to hang out with some other creators while I was there including Purpah of Suitor Armor, Explodikid of Covenant and Graveweaver of I’m the Grim Reaper! I got the chance to say hi to even more artists and webtoon creators at the con and it was so cool seeing them in person! I was feeling super inspired and pumped to work on comics by the end of the trip!

I want to do more events and signings so I can get used to them and have a bit more confidence. I really want anyone who comes to see me to have a good experience and I felt like my nerves were holding me back a bit when it came to personalizing books and having a smooth conversation with everyone. In the future I’d love to be able to do cool sketches next to the signatures without any shaky fingers! 😂💪

That being said, I think the singing went very well and everyone there was SO SO nice and patient with me! I had a wonderful time!

In other news, the first Castle Swimmer book is officially out TODAY!! I want to try and do a last minute drawing to celebrate it!

Also the Elliot Bay bookstore signing in Seattle will be tomorrow at 7pm! I’m excited but also eager to dive back into working on episodes and posting previews. Thanks everyone for all your support! 💖
