His platforms were found to be hubs for distributing spycam footage, revenge porn, and copyrighted materials, profiting from illegal content. In 2018, leaked videos revealed Yang physically assaulting his employees, including slapping a subordinate, making an employee kneel while being beaten, and killing a chicken in front of his staff. Further investigations exposed his involvement in drug use and extreme workplace abuse. One notable case of abuse included forcing employees to dye their hair in traffic light colors (red, yellow, green) as a form of humiliation. Yang was arrested in 2018 and sentenced to seven years in prison in 2021 for assault, coercion, animal abuse, drug violations, and distributing illegal content. His case led to increased public awareness of spycam crimes and workplace abuse in South Korea.
