2024-08-17 11:16:18 +0000 UTCi’ve watched too many kdramas throughout my life but this is by far my favorite one in the romcom genre, it has the perfect balance btw romance & comedy but the romance doesn’t feel superficial unlike in many romcoms mostly because of how selfless both of their love is and the lengths they’re both willing to go to protect eo without expecting anything in return , i mean Sol was fine living w/o his love as long as he was alive. I also think the way Sunjae was written is genius cause usually these attributes/characteristics are reserved for second ML while the ML is usually nonchalant and cold towards the FL, but SJ really is a loser for her in every universe, with or without memories and that kind of love is rarely depicted even in media. To think nobody had faith in this drama and now it has become a hit (even the ost!) and netflix even bought the rights just shows what good writing can do

2024-08-16 05:30:25 +0000 UTCthe time capsule definitely played a symbolic role throughout this drama. the winding of the clock, as if it’s deciding the course and direction of time for sunjae 1. the first time he saw it in 2023, he turned it counterclockwise bc he wanted to turn back time and meet sol again. and they did in the 2nd time slip, in college. 2. he turns it clockwise in 2009. he finally realized sol’s true feelings for him and her actually time traveling to save him. sunjae wants time to move forward/closer so that he could meet the future Sol in 2023 (you’ve heard him mention it many times as well). 3. and finally back to the present. the time capsule breaks, he gets it repaired, and turns it counterclockwise. his memories of every time slip all comes back to him :") the breaking of the time capsule could also mean his fate of getting killed by the taxi driver has ended. which we saw at the end, our guy taesung stopped it from happening

I’m just glad it doesn’t have the childhood romance.
