It is Zhiganshina, the most outer wall (first one that was broken), which is the same city from the very first episode, where Eren grew up and his mom was eaten. They're out specifically to get access to his basement and this is their first time back since Episode 1 when they were all kids.

2023-09-29 22:11:23 +0000 UTCI get feeling betrayed by Reiner and Bertholdt, but one thing that made me feel bad for them is their age. They are so young and clearly taking orders, at least from the beast Titan. They’ve done some terrible things but I always wondered how they got here. Like why are these kids out here doing adult jobs? And the fact that Reiner had his mind split into two proves he feels really guilty. Even Annie who seems like she doesn’t care was crying over what she did to Marco. I don’t like them but I also feel so sad for them.

2023-09-29 21:22:05 +0000 UTCYou guys really gotta check out the English dub some day. If you do a rewatch, I recommend it. You’re missing so much humor - from Conni especially in episode 15. Some of the lines from him don’t resonate in Japanese. Also, Bertholdt doesn’t have a split personality; only Reiner would kinda become a different person to reconcile with himself the betrayal he was committing. Here, Bertholdt just came to terms with what he had to do (complete his mission) despite how he felt about the people who he came to view as friends.
