It’s chill flags for stuff like adhd and autism and other neurodivergent stuffs are very complicated just like the issues surrounding them it happens currently autistic understanding is going through a big revolution rn so the symbols that go long with are constantly changing its kind of a lot for the community since it often feels like flags benefits others more than us again just from the people in the community like myself I’ve met but I do appreciated the visibility and if something else happens I’ll make sure to gently correct ya just steer away from anything autism speaks says is a good rule of thumb

2023-05-26 07:24:56 +0000 UTCIt’s really complicated unlike something like a sexuality autism is such a spectrum that it’s genuinely hard to match down a flag id say the safest would be a bi flags with the infinity simple or dont do it at all tho the infinite with no color on the bi flag should be but he’d no’s for reference never use a puzzle piece or light blue theyre symbols by autism speaks which despite being a well known foundation for autism regularly abuses people with autism and treats them like monsters but yeah my best advice just put a lil infinity in the bi flag people my not recognize it makes more sense and is less risky

Like that example, isn't there a supportive autism flag nowadays or would it be better if I just put the infinite symbol on the bisexual flag? Asking from genuine interest in doing the right thing!

2023-05-25 18:27:20 +0000 UTCIt’s complicated and controversial it’s not really one thing and there any many versions of it that come from different sources it’s kinda like the lesbian flag where if you look into its history too long you start to lose faith in humanity best bet from experience just don’t put any flag in at all I’ve never seen a single person in the community use it at least of those I’ve met and those who have use a all sorts of different versions and think others are offensive so you’re both correct and incorrect at the same time Source: me person with autism
