I just subscribed on your Patreon, it seems like you are slowly discovering the universe of k-dramas with Netflix shows mostly but to be honest, they don't entirely represent the epitome of k-dramas. Here are some recommendations if you are interested : "Big Mouth" is a recent thriller, the aspect of the series is really more entertainment, so intense or hilarious scenes, some very fictional scenes but with mystery. This revolves around a young lawyer who is wrongly accused of being a notorious criminal, he is sent to prison. "Mouse" is a series released last year, it's a suspenseful story that asks the key question, “What if we could identify psychopaths in advance ?”. So the series revolves around murders and psychopaths. The series has a bit of everything but it's a dark, heavy thriller. "My Country: The New Age" is a historical drama that tells the story of two best friends during the founding period of the Joseon Dynasty, and their two different visions of the country. "The Devil Judge" is more a utopian thriller, in a futuristic South Korea, a court of justice where it is the people who decide the sentences, it is told on a background of revenge and politics. "True Beauty" is a classic k-drama, it's basically a love triangle between three students, so romance, comedy. It's more similar to the k-dramas you've seen. And finally, "Vagabond" is an action drama, lots of thrilling and intense moments. It is the story of a young man who loses his nephew in a plane crash that seems at first sight accidental but turns out to be the result of a political conspiracy. Hope this helped you. Ps. also adding now a recent series called "Weak Hero", it's a series that follows a model student, Shi Eun, who appears like a weak boy, but by using his smarts, tools, and psychology, he fights against violence that takes place inside and outside of his school. I must say that the scenes of violence are quite graphic. There are only 8 episodes so if you feel like it watching it.

Ok....last comment, I swear! 😂 What I love about the romcoms is that you get to see a lot more of the Korean culture because they have the time to share it. BP talks a lot about food, you'll see the dynamics of their work environment, their dating culture, how you eat meals with others...all of which are vastly different than that of American culture. (The other shows may show it too, but the horror/drama is at the forefront and overshadows it). When things become too cringey or there's a filler episode, I recommend focusing on these aspects instead...

I won’t lie, I felt the same way. You gotta push through ep 3, ball starts rolling around ep 4. I get it, there are a lot of characters, so it takes a bit to intro them all. Second half is WAY better (& darker) than first half, but they had to build it up. It’s a good mix of comedy, action, drama, and suspense. But it’s all good, if it ain’t for you, don’t even trip girl. I feel the same way about It’s Okay To Not Be Okay. I know it’s a fan fave, but I didn’t care for it. Don’t come for me! 🙈

I recommend watching Little Women. It's a kdrama on Netflix with 12 episodes. It has the police officer from Squid Game and On-Jo from All of us are Dead in it! It's definitely not as light-hearted as EAW or The Business Proposal will be, but it is a really good show with great acting, an interesting plot and so many twists. One of the best shows I've watched in a while.

I saw the e-mail when I was still half sleep at 1am...but this is real! And I love you guys! ❤ I didn't see many people mention BP but I've been rewatching it since Sunday and I wanted to throw it out there again last night bc there's some stuff that happens and I would love to hear a man's POV on it...it is definitely a 180 from what y'all have watched....even a 180 from EAW so I'm interested to see y'all's reaction. This is definitely a mushy (slightly cringey) love story but the production is A1 and everyone does a great job in it! I can already imagine what you guys are gonna say about the lead male character 😂😂

I swear! I checked in with several friends and heard the same thing. Few made it beyond episode 2. 😭 Someone on this thread said it takes a bit to pick up. Since I watch and review TV for a living, I rarely have the bandwidth to give a show 3-4 hours to grab me. If they eventually cover it, I’ll go back though. I don’t think it’s bad; just didn’t feel it was for me based on that first episode.

This show is totally different from what you guys are use to... this is your typical kdrama meaning this type of plot has been used in other kdramas. It's a romantic comedy, it's definitely toned down so you guys won't be stressing too much. Another kdrama for future reactions would be Little Women it's only 12 episodes, but it's intense haha
