Custom official Cyndaquil + Clodsire preorders

Hello everybunny!
Sorry for disappearing these past days. As you know, we're working on a secret project and we have to pay a lot of attention to it. also, they requested some changes to it, which will delay us ><
But the good news are that since we have to change parts of the project, they have delayed the deadline, so in the following weeks we will be able to work on regular commissions and Patreon more often ^^

Today we have two different works.
First, we want to show you how the Cyndaquil plush modification we were commissioned turned out! If you don't remember, months ago a patron asked us to customize an official Cyndaquil plush to make it shiny as a faux fur tier reward. We'd aslo take the chance to stuff it better and polish some seams. It's the first time we were commissioned to modify a plush. We did it as a personal project with Inteleon, and we've also been asked to fix and clean old plushies, but not something like this. It's not our usual work, but it's fun to make from time to time ^^

Now we'll explain all the process we followed for this project!
First, we disassembled Cyndaquil. We had to unsew the green part to change it for brown. While ripping the seams, we realised that these mass produced plushies use the technique of sewing a ribbon along the seams of the full plush. If you remember, we used this technique for Clodsire's tail. But it's interesting to see that they use it on all the seams. It's probably because being so big, it's easier to keep the pattern shapes without maky testing. Since we wanted the plush to look the same, we kept the ribbon to use it.

Then, we separated the back from the rest of the body, and traced the patterns into paper. We also scanned the back embroidery to make it identical in our version. With that done, we designed the embroidery.

another interesting thing is that Cyndaquil had reinforcement stitches under all the applique. Probably to give it stability and not deform when stuffed since mochi is so stretchy. It's a good idea that we'll use in the future! And of course, we used it for this plush :D

Once the embrodiery was done and all the pieces cut, it was time to sew everything again. It took longer thane xpected because we had to sew the ribbon along all the seams. But it wasn't too difficult to sew. First we sew the head gusset, then we sew it to the rest of the head and finally the body and body to the head. We also took the chance and changed the toenails and some other seams.

As a last thing to comment, we added our Boira Plushies tag together with the original one. This way it keeps both works credited ^^

Then there was only stuffing and closing left! Look at how cute and squishy it turned out >w<
The truth is that it looks like an official Pokemon plush, since we kept all the patterns and techinques used hahaha. We think it's hard to see it's customized. Though we think it looks better stuffed now, and the cloro is so pretty. What do you think?

On the other hand, apart from Cyndaquil, these days we finally finished the small mochi Clodsire preorders. All of them are adorable and soft, and we already packed them all to ship to their new homes. We specially like the colors of the shiny.

With these projects finished, in the next days we'll write a post about how we start working on the next pattern reward; Animal Crossing plushies incoming!

Perdón por estar desaparecidas estos días. Cómo sabéis, estamos trabajando en el proyecto secreto y tenemos que prestarle mucha atención. Además, nos han pedido hacer unos cambios y eso nos retrasa un poco ><
Pero la buena noticia es que por estos cambios, nos han atrasado la fecha de entrega, y estas próximas semanas vamos a volver a centrarnos más en los encargos normales y Patreon ^^

Hoy os traemos dos trabajos distintos.
Para empezar, os queremos enseñar cómo ha quedado el Cyndaquil de peluche que nos encargaron modificar! Por si no os acordáis, hace meses un patron nos pidió de recompensa del faux fur tier que modificaramos su peluche oficial de Cyndaquil para hacerlo variocolor. Además, aprovecharíamos para rellenarlo bien y arreglar pequeños fallos de la costura. Es la primera vez que nos encargan modificar un peluche. Lo hicimos como algo personal con Inteleon, o arreglamos peluches viejos. Pero no algo así. No es nuestro "encargo objetivo", pero es entretenido hacerlo de vez en cuando ^^

Ahora os vamos a contar el paso a paso que seguimos en este proyecto!  
Primero de todo desmontamos al Cyndaquil. Teníamos que descoser la parte verde para reemplazarla. Al descoserlo, nos dimos cuenta que estos peluches industriales usan la técnica de coser cinta en la costura por todo el peluche. Si os acordáis, usamos esta técnica con las colas de Clodsire. Pero es curioso que lo usen en todo el cuerpo. Seguramente es porque es muy grande y más fácil de mantener la forma si no trabajas mucho el patrón. Cómo queríamos que quedase igual que el original, separamos la cinta y la guardamos para usar luego.

Ahora sí, despiezamos la espalda e hicimos los patrones a papel de las piezas. También aprovechamos para escanear el bordado y poder hacerlo igual en nuestra versión. Hecho esto, diseñamos nuestro bordado.

Otra curiosidad que vimos es que el bordado de cyndaquil tenía una costura de refuerzo por detrás de todo el aplique. Seguramente esto es para darle dureza y no deformarse tanto al ser tela mochi. Una buena idea que nos apuntamos para el futuro! Y de paso lo usamos en este nuevo peluche :D

Una vez teníamos el bordado y las piezas cortadas, tocaba coser parte por parte todo de nuevo. Fue algo más lento porque teníamos que colocar la cinta por todas las costuras. Pero no fue extremadamente difícil de coser. Primero hicimos el morro, luego la cabeza y finalmente el cuerpo. También aprovechamos para mejorar un poco las uñas y las costuras generales.

Cómo último detalle a comentar, le añadimos nuestra etiqueta de boira Plushies al lado de la original. Así mantiene ambos trabajos acreditados ^^

Y así, solo quedó rellenarlo y cerrarlo! Mirad lo achuchable y bonito que ha quedado >w<
La verdad es que parece un peluche original de Pokémon, porque mantiene toda la técnica y patronaje que usaron ellos hahaha. Creo que es difícil de ver que es un custom. Eso sí, creemos que queda más bonito rellenado ahora. Y el color es súper bonito. Qué os parece a vosotros? 

Por otro lado, además de hacer a Cyndaquil, estos días terminamos al fin el preorder de Clodsire de mochi. Todos ellos están adorables y blanditos, y ya los hemos empaquetado para enviar a su nuevo hogar. Nos gusta especialmente cómo se ven los colores del variocolor.

Con estos dos trabajos listos, en los próximos días os vamos a traer un nuevo post de cómo hemos empezado a trabajar en la recompensa de los próximos patrones; se vienen peluches de Animal Crossing!
