Sorry I'm so late on finally watching this...I've been jumping around a little bit on the patreon vids. I had the time in between play-off games to work on getting up to date. Watching it with you was actually my first time ever seeing the movie (actually most of the movie reactions is also my first time seeing) and bruhhhh!! That was so wild! I agree with you on the first half being really slow...I was worried I wasn't gonna like the movie as a whole, but that last 30 min or so was really good! I found it to be a very satisfying ending...it tied everything together well. I hope I'm still as strong as that old lady when I get old! lol. Gonna have to watch the Pearl vid soon. Side note: Watching movies and listening to albums with you is the best! Either you are thinking the same exact thing I am, or you add something funny or interesting that adds to the experience

Something I forgot to mention, I'm not sure if it's been brought up, but for us that saw X in the theater, after the credits finished rolling, the trailer for Pearl came on, which came as a complete surprise as we didn't know there was even going to be a sequel, or in this instance a prequel. Apparently Mia Goth and Ti West went to work immediately to tell the tale of the old lady from X (played by Mia Goth in amazing makeup, a detail I missed until I got home and looked up X online) It as a total surprise to see an immediate continuation of the story with the character of Pearl. Again, Mia Goth absolutely slays with her performance. I can't wait to see your reaction to it!

Glad you're finally doing this one. It's one of my favourite spins on the final girl trope in recent memory and I cannot wait to see Maxine's story completed in the third installment later this year. Looking forward to your Pearl reaction whenever that comes. Mia Goth absolutely steals the show in that one especially during one particular scene, you'll know when you see it

Okay, you missed one major thing - the old lady's name is Pearl. And "Pearl" movie is a prequel about her. So that's why she was so fascinated with her, because they look alive. Mia Goth playes both Maxine and Pearl, both in younger and older form! Another thing, this July part 3 of the trilogy comes out - "MAXXXINE". That movie will pick up the storyline of Maxine we started in X.

Excited to see your reaction to this! It’s also the push I need to finally watch Pearl. :) I honestly didn’t love this one when I first saw it, but I enjoyed it a lot more on my second watch when I was able to dive more into the themes and how damn good the acting is.

Yes! I've been looking forward to this one! I watched this about a month ago and to say it's a bizarre film is an understatement. I think it works better as a dark comedy more than a horror film (though it does both for sure). Well, here we go!!
