Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out - Slumber Party (well, it's a sad party)

This documentary had a pretty strong effect on me. I've barely used social media since I watched it and it just really made me wish I could do something to help fight cyber bullying. For anyone who hasn't seen this film, please be aware that it addresses some really heavy topics so proceed with caution. Love you guys ♥️

Been sobbing this whole movie oh my god. Yes, every time I post on social media I refresh and hope to see people liking it. And I wish I didn't. I always struggled with body image issues growing up, and though I have gotten much better in that area, it sticks with me to this day.

I love this documentary & the message is amazing, When the lady said think of yourself before social media, that was hard because I did and I was bullied long before I had social media, so it just made me think do I even know who I am because there wasn't a moment even before when I don't remember being bullied. I also agree everyone should watch it.

hi caitlin, i cried along with you, and i've watched it so many times already! to answer your question, i think i post on my insta cause i like the pic and i just want to share it, but once it posts i immediately go and check the likes and comments. after it's up for a few hours i go through the likes and see who liked it and try and see it from their perspective? i'm trying to stop this just to add to my goal of not caring what others think of me. :) sending love x

I'm so glad you watched this documentary, I agree that everyone should watch this because it's so important. It was made in 2019 and sadly because Jesy and LM are a 'girlgroup' they're shoved to a kind of guilty pleasure place and none of the important stuff they talk about (this documentary, Strip, Woman's World) gets promoted and shown to people like it should. It's made me reevaluate the way I use social media (I do post for other people's approval, for this 'image' that I want people to have of me). It's so heartbreaking that all of these things she went through took the joy away from performing for her and she had to leave Little Mix, but without the pressure I think she's going to thrive. In fact, as in the documentary she said she didn't show her natural hair to even her boyfriend (who she isn't with anymore), but since leaving the band and the pressure/spotlight she's posted a bunch of pictures of herself with her natural curly hair, and I think she's moving in the direction of being much happier and free. And she's got three best friends for life in the girls. ;) I hope you'll watch the tour or Eat In With Little Mix so you could see some happy stuff with the girls and how much they really love and enjoy being with each other despite all of the negative things.
