Run BTS - Kimchi Battle ✰ Ep. 35 Reaction

I like kimchi too, the most common one (the one Jin, V and RM made in this episode), I eat it as one of the side dishes of bulgogui, in a Korean restaurant here im my hometown (a sunny city in the north-east part of Brazil). What's kinda funny is that I know this restaurant, and therefore like Korean food, way before I was into BTS or K-pop culture in general.

Hey, i had kimchi in a Korean restaurant here in Montreal. It was really good, everything was in fact, delicious. Just made me wanna go to Korea and eat over there.

Joanie Lemay

ohhh alright, that explains why they were making large batches and putting them in tubs, thanks for explaining!!

FYI, in case anyone is interested in tae's squirrel dish, which will make a reappearance in a future ep as well, https://www.amazon.com/JOLIE-MUSE-Serving-Dessert-Squirrel/dp/B01GJD5BOG/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=squirrel+dish&qid=1611949947&sr=8-2

yea its bit time consuming, which is why they just make a lot at one time in those tubs. alot of koreans in korea will actually have a separate smaller kimchi fridge. the smell is a bit pungent, but it is delish. i like it better when its fermented vs fresh. and fermented is best when you use it to make kimchi jigae(stew/soup), kimchi fried rice, kimchi ramen, etc etc. also hope youve been watching the behinds on your own time. again, they are only like 5-10min.

It does take a long time to make and at the beginning of the episode, it said that it was kimchi making season. That's because people normally make kimchi during the winter so that it can ferment and you'll have it for a while.

Maaye Thidahtun

wow, really?? so does it always take so much work to make? an do they make large batches to last a while?

Caitlin Marie

Ohh yeaaa nice to see you again caitlinnn. Btw kimchi is actually a fermented food that korean usually have with mostly every meal because its like a cleansing pallet for them .. and with kimchi you can make a lot of other korean meals such as kimchi stew.. kimchi fried rice and many moree.. basically most of the time kimchi is a must have in every household in korea ;)
