Morning, Part 2 Preview

Welcome to July, hope you enjoy your stay. Just a little bit of a ramble with explanation of the piece above...

This will be a sort of follow up, a part 2, to a piece I drew last year with Cameron from Halt and Catch Fire/Grace from Terminator Dark Fate in the outdoors at early morning. Compare this to that, and you can see the change in colours is showing a different time of day, if not by much, so we have progress in a story here.

That piece though, I didn't properly release it, it was one of a few pieces I did where it just didn't feel quite right, and I don't know what it was that did that. It's funny I could sit down and do that last Rey with the collar and Finn in the stormie armour, and complete that in a night or two, but the FinnRey before it was drawn 6+ months or so ago and I took forever to add some finishing touches.

Quote Blackberry, Perfect is the enemy of good. Good enough is the enemy of humanity. And I don't wanna just make "good enough" because that's not doing any good. Perfectionism isn't something I necessarily strive for but I have just done "good enough" when I think "great" is perfectly achievable. My newest Mae piece? Great, I feel. Maybe I feel for these Cameron artworks I need them to go together to be great, the first piece I did a new, final background for based on a real dawn photo I took, and it's very atmospheric so maybe it's already great? You'll see it soon.

I think I did hit burnout in April, I wasn't happy with how I put in a lot of work on the Silver Surfer picture and it got overlooked. I was planning for the OC comic, Corey, Trish, Alison, Toni, to be out in June but it's not there yet and I'm doubting its story. I'm not looking for reassurance, I'm just sharing a process I've been working through, and getting things to a great level so I can share them all. Time management has fallen apart and I need to fix it but I will fulfil the promises I made for works, I just need to get on top of it.
