Sitting on the concrete half step outside the library in the city's civic square, almost completely naked wearing some ridiculous video game costume Trish didn't recognise, she pulled the plastic costume knife from her military harness and held it to her teeth, pulling a silly expression.
Dutifully, Trish snapped half a dozen photos. They weren't perfect, but they were bright and clear, what with dusk rapidly setting in on this June evening. "I guess the knife is a reference to something?" Trish asked with a smile, as Kodi picked herself up and dusted off her tights, pulling the large army green coat back on.
"Oh yeah, anyone who's got through the game will get it."
"Metal Gears of War?"
"Metal Gear Solid. Five. Colon, The Phantom Pain," Kodi laughed, "She tries to stab someone's tongue out and breaks their teeth."
Trish's eyebrows raised, disappearing into her fringe as she popped the lens cap back on. "I'm sure she had her reasons," she said, looking up to see her friend grooving, doing a spin and striking a pose, giggling once more.
