As you all know, Merrique and I shoot once a month. A lot of the time we're experimenting with various lighting and methods trying to create something that one of us has seen since we last shot. It's not really a concept, as it is an idea that we play with during the shoot. Going into this shoot we had decided to try and create something with a really old Hollywood lighting concept. Merrique had a light that mimicked a snoot, which we set up right next to the camera and then we set up some barn door lights to add more light and harsh shadows to the scene. Her barn doors have various colors we can change and so we played with that during the shoot as well. You can see the result. It worked, but not as well as we both had hoped. All in all though the experiment was a success. I've included a couple of photos that give you an idea of the lighting that we were using, just in case you want to try and recreate it on your own. I'm sure you can come up with something a little better than what we did.
We wouldn't try this again, but had fun with it. Our regularly scheduled monthly shoot for November is tomorrow and we're trying to create some low-key lighting on her bed, so we'll see how that works. I also had a shoot on Monday with the first model I ever hired, Floofie. She and I were reminiscing about having shot together for going on 11 years now. Stay tuned for images from that shoot. Thank you all for your continued support. I received a notice from Patreon about a change in their billing procedure, and I hope it doesn't create too many issues. Thank you for putting up with Patreon and your support. It means a lot.
