Shaylene and I shot remotely about a month ago in her home in Florida. I was introduced to her through my acquaintance with Scarlet Begonias, another Florida based model. Shaylene has some health issues she's dealing with but is normally a traveling model. She also does makeup and hair for other models. As you can see, she's beautiful in her own right. One of the things I dislike about remote shoots is the lack of available light and having to use relatively high ISO which results in a lot of grain in the photo. You can combat it by developing in black and white or going through another development program like Topaz Denoise (which is what I use for very grainy photos). If I convert to black and white, I use Dxo's Silver Efex Pro. Black and white photos have some amount of grain in them anyway. That's just the nature of the beast. You can export the photos back to Lightroom and take some of it out. Lightroom is the program I use to process all of my photos. My steps are import to Lightroom, do touchups in that program, export to Topaz, do minor adjustments there (or export to Silevr Efex Pro), export back into Lightroom, add final adjustments and export to the final file.
I hope you like these photos of Shaylene. She was a joy to work with and as you can see, we got some good results. I was in Wyoming so my shoot time was limited to an hour, because of my slow internet speed, but hopefully Shaylene and I can meet and shoot in person sometime. Stay tuned.
