With Dr. Grey now narrowing down some of the effects, and having a lot more control over it, he decided to give Dr. Masters a taste of what Ms. Belle was going through. Of course, Dr. Grey would never have done this if he wasn't completely sure it was safe (and temporary). He even managed to do it in such a way that she wouldn't be able to trace it back to him. He can be devious when he wants to be.
