Download vamX for AI Chat 1.40
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE VAMX:
1) Download vamX.1.40.var (or from Mega). This is vamX 1.40 Beta.
2) Get your updated password at www.patreon.com/vamx/membership
3) Open the vamX AI Chat scene.
4) You can now Save and Restore a single chat. This is saved per server, so if you save a chat on the US server, you must restore it on the US server.
If you lose connection to the AI Chat server (the person in vamX no longer speaks the AI Chat audio):
a) Press Save Chat (in the WebUI)
b) Reconnect to the SAME SERVER in vamX (Scene -> AI Chat -> US or EU servers)
c) Press Restore Chat (in the Web UI).
5) In the Web UI press "Continue Story x2" to generate two sets of back-and-forth dialog. If a Male is shown in vamX he will speak his part of the dialog. If not, the global narrator voice will speak his dialog. You an also press "Continue (as Me)" for a single back-and-forth dialog set.
6) You can set the Male/2nd Person voice (the voice generated when using Continue Story x2) in the 2nd Person Voice drop down.
7) If you don't want narrator description text use the new "Remove Would-be-Narrated" option in the Narrator drop down. For example, the AI can generate a response like "Hi (Jenny brushes her hair)". Using "Remove Would-be-Narrated" would result in only "Hi." This helps enhance immersion by making sure no one is speaking description text.
8) For a much faster and more accurate chat, use the updated Deepgram App for speech recognition. This recognizes speech without holding down any buttons. There are timing options to help her respond at the right time, when you finish speaking. Download the vamX Deepgram App from https://www.patreon.com/posts/97100910
KEY NEW FEATURES
You can now say (very quickly so Deepgram doesn't separate it into two separate comments) "My name is... Your name is... You are..." to set a personality using your speech and the separate Deepgram application. You can also do this without Deepgram by talking regularly to the AI, but now it also works using Deepgram.
You can now Save and Restore a single chat. This is saved per server, so if you save a chat on the US server, you must restore it on the US server.

Added new option to remove text that would be narrated. For example sometimes the AI adds text that isn't spoken like in the response "Hi. (Jenny Smiles)." In that response, to keep immersion the new "Remove Would-be-Narrated" option for the Narrator simply would crop this response to only "Hi." If, instead you chose a narrator voice, Jenny would say "Hi." then the narrator would say "Jenny Smiles".
If AI Chat sends audio for the Male to speak, but the Male is hidden, the speech is played using the narrator (global) audio source.
CURRENT ISSUES / COMING SOON
No issues known. Save / Restore Chat could use further user testing. Sometimes duplicate sentences appear.

I enter the password and it keeps saying to enter the password. tried as follows: 1) enter password and hit "send", AI asks to enter password again and click "reset chat". 2) enter password (without hitting "send") and click "reset chat". Nothing. What am i doing wrong?

2024-11-16 14:31:41 +0000 UTCIt's generally to do with the voice recognition system. When you hold down the right mouse button (Desktop mode) or Trigger (VR) then Whisper (the speech detection model from Open AI) is trying to imagine you are saying something and it can generate strange random stuff from what you think is silence but it decides is speech. We try to get it to not come up with speech out of silence, but it still does. You can try using the separate Deepgram speech recog, that might help. If you have a fan on in the background or other background noise, reduce it if possible or get a good noise cancelling microphone. I've never personally had this happen, so I'm thinking my microphone is better than others (I like Sennheiser's microphones).

2024-11-12 07:58:53 +0000 UTCI have an issue with the AI chat: sometimes random messages appear in the chat out of nowhere like they were sent from me (not from AI), even if I don't do literally anything. The typical messages text is usually something like "Thanks for watching!" or something about subtitles (?) or just random ads like "visit this website to buy sushi". I tried different models, but it didn't help, seems like ALL models have this issue (although I didn't try GPT ones). I use my password (the one I got from "Membership"), and also I tried switching between EU and USA servers. Nothing helps. Can you pls help me?

It sends a green empty message and the AI responds twice. first is fitting to the context, the 2. time is ignoring the past messages and is like the AIs first response. continue AI also sends automatically a 2. green empty message after the AI responded already. tested with west lake in browser only: press continue AI-empty green message- AI blue respones- empty green message- ai blue response- ai blue response. silicon maid: press continue AI- empty green message- empty green message- ai blue respones- empty green message- ai blue response- ai blue response- ai blue response. Mythalion: press continue Ai- 3x empty green- ai blue- 2x empty green- ai blue- empty green- ai blue- empty green- 2x ai blue- 1 empty ai blue- 2x ai blue(first being identical with a previous message) continue AI seems to work as intended.

Aside from Kobold and GPT, we host the models (AIs) although an AI can get into a conversation pretending it's troubleshooting things, etc. One more thing I forgot to mention, is that unless you disable it in the vamX AI Chat menu, touches and pose change events are sent, and cause AI Chat responses, which could also contribute to this "infinitely talking". If you have some issue where the AI steps out of character, try either changing the model (NSFW AI Chat model) or pressing Summarize at the very top right of the Web UI (scroll way up) and then see what the chat history is, edit it, and you should be able to continue a normal conversation if this history makes sense (or once you make it make sense).

2024-10-08 02:43:00 +0000 UTCiam getting the feeling its maybe not VAM-X related coz you seem to be too puzzled about this. Did i tell you that once the provider of the web interface or wherever the AI is running, had some internal issues or changes and they seemlessly switched the character description that i used off and had their internal debugging AI respond. It was to tell the user that they are facing some issues or so right now but that everything should work as normal soon again. I was at first confused and asked questions about it etc. and it was a whole different bot that explained to me this is used for servicing etc. besides that making it a bit scary that they seem to directly tap into your stream, it might be an issue fully on their side.

Certain details I'd like to already have in there. I'll do a test one tonite to see how it works. Maybe just telling the model those extra details after loading is quicker than trying to manually get ALL the Info in there.

I have text files, it's easier than reading it all out every time if I could just hit load, browse to the file...done. I'm in vr, so using copy paste on keyboard is also tricky. Either way great work.

2024-10-06 18:00:39 +0000 UTCHow can I reproduce this? Beta isn't supposed to introduce bugs in other features, it's labeled as a beta mainly for the new features. This was supposed to be a solid release and has been tested extensively. I'd appreciate it if someone can let me know how to make this infinite talking happen. For example, I open the vamX AI Chat scene, and I am set to Mythalion for the AI. I enter my password, press Reset Chat, then say "Hi". She replies, with a single reply, and then stops.

2024-10-05 03:42:37 +0000 UTCi think it was mainly if not exclusively when using the VAMX own models. it sends and sends and sends. Iam using the web interface often outside the game in the browser to test it. reloading, closing the tab, closing the browser etc all doesnt stop it. normally i need to reenter the password when i reload the webview page, but since you guys changed something it doesnt ask anymore if reopened and there is no way to stop it from sending. Also it would be nice if you guys could like actually test the AI models and i think its best to do this at first fully outside of the game coz its simply faster. this allows for pretty quick testing of the models and experimenting with different custom instructions. while the new models have been an improvement i still almost excluseively use the koboldAI models as they have some far superior models which are also even less censored then the internal models. just reread you comment, and no...reset chat, closing browser etc nothing helps or works once it started.

Coz so far i see that you or the providers ( dont know your architecture ) regularly break the AI.
