Mia Heart Events

This is not a full story outline or anything. These are my loose ideas for the big moments of the first arc, but because of it being a litRPG, I can't structure it like I do a full novel. So I'll have big ideas and then make it work in the context of the ongoing story's flow.

1 - Mia opens up to Oliver about their shared past after work one day. She doesn't live that far from their job so Oliver volunteers to walk her home after she says she wants to talk to him. The mood is light and airy, though the city is not the best place. My plans are to have it be sort of like San Francisco so it's dirty and there's a lot of homeless people, but that doesn't kill the vibe between them. They might settle down and hang out at a park for a while where Mia reveals that she was the girl that he stopped Stacy from bullying back in freshman year, and the two talk about it.

Mia always wanted to apologize for what happened to him but she was a lot different back then and was much more shy. Thinking about this brings back a lot of bad memories for Oliver and Mia is worried that this makes it weird between them. He wonders why Stacy didn't say anything about it, wonders if she knows. Mia confirms that she knows but doesn't care enough to make a big deal about it. She didn't bully Mia during the rest of high school so it's not like she's trying to make things worse for them.

Mia worries if he's mad at her now but Oliver doesn't see why he should be. He opens up about what happened but keeps the details to himself about how bad the situation got after he transferred. The mood improves a little bit when they'd start talking about how much Mia has changed since then, with her openly flirting in a very casual manner asking if he likes the changes and Oliver taking the initiative to respond back. Mia is very relieved that she doesn't hold it against him and she's glad that they can move forward with the truth behind them.

Oliver senses that he has no better time to strike and that the mood is right, so after battling with his doubts and hesitation, he ends the heart event by asking Mia if she would like to hang out sometime. She's quiet before asking for clarification on that being a loaded statement, wondering what exactly he meant by it. Oliver asks what it sounded like. Mia says it sounded like you're asking me on a date but are too afraid to say it outright so you worded it vaguely. Owning up to it, Oliver makes a joke about how that's exactly the case. Mia doesn't hesitate to accept his offer and it's played off as humorous how casual she is about it.

The event ends on a positive note as they walk the rest of the way to her apartment complex. They're both pretty quiet as they walk but they're both very excited about the future.

2 - There are several requirements stopping Oliver from going on a date with Mia as soon as she says yes. There will be an encounter with her brothers on their first attempt, and they derail it to protect Mia. He is going to have to prove to them that he's serious about her before he can take her out, as otherwise they will show up and get in the way. Mia says to give it some time and that they will chill out- she's never had a boyfriend before so they're just being overprotective- but he can see the explicit requirements to unlock the date. He has to increase his style and strength and max out Mia's meter to the second level, making Oliver think that her heart event involves the date itself.

After he gets past these roadblocks, her brothers except him but give him a playful warning to not make her cry. Oliver has never gone on a date before so he relies on Bradley's advice. The good thing is that Mia has never had a date before, either, and Bradley assures him that since she already likes him it's unlikely she'll end up having a bad time no matter what they do. This is true for the most part, so he tries not to worry about it and takes her to walk downtown so they can check out some shops. He will have learned that she likes walking and people watching by now, so she enjoys the chance to do so with him.

He'll learn about her being an artist here and she'll show him some of her artwork on her phone, and he's very impressed with it. After they finish up street walking they'll get dinner together, which only increases the positive vibes between them. The two end up talking about what they want out of life and how they are both in strange periods. She'll talk about some of her ambitions as an artist and Oliver will own up to not having much direction himself, though he hints that there is kind of something he wants to pursue but it's not really something he can talk about. Some new situation in life cropped up and he's still dealing with it and learning how to live with it. This kind of talk obviously scares her but he assures her that he is not in danger or anything. She's observant and asks if it has something to do with how he's been acting lately, and he confirms as much.

Either way, Mia is happy he has something to potentially look forward to. She isn't as confident about her prospects as she used to be but Oliver points out she's a great artist. He hasn't picked up on her tendinitis yet and she doesn't feel like bringing down the mood so she takes the compliment for what it is and the rest of the date goes really well. Oliver knows that she's dodging something but he rationalizes that he'll learn about it in time when she's ready to tell him and he doesn't want to risk lowering her affection by pushing her when she isn't ready.

At the end of the date, Oliver gets them a cab and when he dropped her off they have the obligatory waiting for a kiss moment. He's nervous and so is she but the situation doesn't go as expected. Oliver tries to lean in and kiss her but she gets impatient and takes the initiative herself. In contrast to her personality, Mia is a passionate lover and her first kiss reflects that. It's deep, very long, and goes out of control. She's groping him. Oliver is very into it. But she gets embarrassed and ends the kiss after gaining awareness of what she's done.

Seeing her flustered is a very new thing and he thinks it's cute so he assures her it's okay by giving her another kiss. The two are very happy and then the night there- they also confirm that they are dating officially now. There would be a gag as Oliver gets back in the cab only for the cabbie, a stereotypical Indian man, to offer him a fist bump. Although shy, Oliver laughs at the situation and gives him one.

3 - the third event is locked behind a Spark stat check. He needs to have higher creativity before Mia trusts him enough to ask him something that's clearly on her mind. After getting into the relevant side story and finding a spark mentor, Mia feels comfortable enough to show him more of her artwork. She does so when they're hanging out together at his place for the first time- a date they plan on in advance.

The surprise is immense when he learns that she likes drawing lewd things. She tells him about her side hustle as a commission artist and the hang up she's having is that drawing men doesn't come as easily to her as drawing women and Mia wants to know if he would be willing to help her with that. Some clients have been particular about it and she wants to improve.

Oliver isn't against it but he asks if there are any figure drawing classes she can take. There are tons of them, they live in a artistic city, after all, but the idea of drawing random strangers makes her a little nervous. Oliver wants to know if she means for him to like full on model for her, while pointing out some of the nude examples. Mia gets slightly embarrassed and assures him that they don't have to do the full thing just yet- Oliver teases her about the just yet part- but she brushes him off and says he can just wear his underwear to start off with.

Since she's already at his place and she brought along her art supplies, they decide to go for it and he spends the evening modeling for her in various poses. It takes a decent energy cost to keep up with her demands and hold the poses for long enough so he goes through some of his energy drinks in the process. As she draws, Oliver notices the increasing strain. She starts needing to take breaks and he tries to ask her about it but she is stubborn and deflects.

To get him to stop asking, she has another request. This one is a bit more embarrassing. He assumes she wants him to take his underwear off and he has the courage to tease her about this not being a free show or something while implying. Mia is flustered but doesn't back down, instead insisting that's not what she had in mind. What she actually wants is just as embarrassing, though, and barely any better. She recounts some advice that her art teacher in high school used to give her. You need to study your subject with more than just your eyes. Get up close and feel it with your hands.

Oliver takes a minute to process that she is asking for permission to come up and start groping him. She says what's the big deal, as she already does that whenever they kiss. The only difference is that he will barely have any clothes on this time. Things are awkward for a second before Mia goes on to say she's not expecting him to do it for free. Rather, if he lets her feel him up then she'll do the same. Things get a lot more awkward as he gets hard at the suggestion and Mia is shocked seeing it pressing up against his underwear. Oliver is embarrassed but she tells him not to be- is still resolute in getting this opportunity and the erection isn't going to stop her. He doesn't think he can calm it down, but Mia is fine with that. They agree on it and she starts feeling him up.

He notices that she only uses her left hand, but it's hard to care so much as things start heating up very fast. The study session quickly becomes erotic and Mia is just as into it as he is, but like usual, her passion gets the best of her and she turns it into actual groping and starts kissing him all over. She's apologetic but can't help herself. Things get to the point where she asks if she can take his boxers off and Oliver is straining hard now so he's desperate for it even despite his shyness. Mia tries to justify it as never having seen a real one and how much it will help her art but Oliver manages to get her to admit that she just wants to be dirty with him which feels like a major victory.

They take it to the bedroom and Oliver stands at the edge of the bed while Mia gets on it. She's enraptured after taking off his boxers and she gets up close to study it fully, though it's mostly a handjob at this point. As excited as he should be, Mia is still using her left hand and it's very clunky. She gets the sense that he doesn't like it and he tries to save face but Mia makes up for it by transitioning to giving him head instead. It's still awkward at the beginning but her passion soon shines through and she gets really into it to the point where she doesn't care when he warns her he's about to climax and just stares him in the eyes telling him to do his worst essentially.

Even though he gets off, he's still in the mood and Oliver becomes proactive, joining her on the bed and pushing her down. She's quick to remind him that she is not comfortable with anything beyond petting yet but he promises her that he's not going to take things too far- he just can't wait anymore. They make out and Oliver finally matches Mia's passionate groping. She doesn't get fully undressed but she's not wearing a bra under her shirt so he has plenty of fun. It keeps going until he eventually gets her off and they have a romantic after lewd activity cuddle session together.

They're both overwhelmed by everything that happened but after they get over the 'wow' phase of things they have a slightly more serious talk where Oliver tries to ask about her wrist. She preempts him and comes clean about it herself, admits that she has tendinitis from too much drawing- though her high libido certainly didn't help with all of the repetitive wrist motions. There's really a moment in the day where her wrist isn't doing something and although it's shameful she owns up to it.

That's why she's been struggling with her career lately and doesn't seem very hopeful, but at least their romance is giving her enough reason to keep going. She doesn't put it quite that dramatically, but the point gets across. Oliver asks if there's any hopes. There are surgeries, but you know how expensive those things are. She jokes that maybe her wrist will do better now that she has someone to do the dirty work for her, and they share an intimate moment. It's really late and Mia asks if it's cool for her to stay the night. It's not a big deal of course and he promises to behave himself, and they fall asleep while cuddling.

4 - this hard event doesn't have a requirement so Oliver figures it will happen when it happens. Mia and Oliver's relationship is very strong at this point to the point where their coworkers specifically Stacy and their boss Tessa find them incredibly obnoxious. Stacy says something bitchy to them, something that specifically affects Oliver and plays on his past trauma with her. He doesn't react well and he's embarrassed because of it, but then an inverse situation happens compared to what happened in high school. Mia is set off and she stands up to Stacy, probably slapping her or something.

Tessa breaks off the fight before it can escalate and is obviously pissed, then has a word with them but not before telling Stacy that she is next. Even though Tessa is a man hater it's not like she doesn't know that Stacy was in the wrong and she asks them to cool it with the cutesy bullshit while they're on the job. Oliver asserts himself that they're not doing anything wrong, it's not like they're making out, but the little longing glances and knowing smiles between them is fucking annoying. Tessa goes slightly mask off here and says how seeing how happy they are together is like a personal insult- though Mia points out how Tessa has personally helped Mia in the past by making sure they were assigned on duties together, which is news Oliver.

Tessa is annoyed and says that she didn't think it would come back to bite her in the ass but she gets professional and collects herself. Says she's happy for them but they need to not be distracting even if they don't think they are. Says she's going to get on Stacy's ass, too, but for now she thinks it's best if everyone just cools off and she gives them the rest of the day off expecting them to get it out of their system whenever the fuck Oliver shows up for work next. It's a slow day, anyway.

Suddenly off work early, they decide to hang out together. This time, it's at Mia's place.

Oliver has heard about her roommate before now but she assures him that it's not going to be a big deal and that she probably won't leave her room. Oliver tries to say that his place will be better but when he sees how cute Mia is about wanting to have him over he can't say no. Her apartment is much better than his, which isn't saying much, and he's a little jealous. There is sound effects coming from one of the bedrooms and occasionally he can hear Zoe laughing or cursing, which is when he is told that she's a streamer and it's all she does. That's neat.

Mia is feeling overprotective of him because she hasn't seen him like that before and she slightly fusses over him before they settle down on the couch and she asks what that was all about back there. Oliver is put on the spot but he knows that Mia means well and figures she deserves to know a bit more about his high school years. He comes clean about how badly Stacy's bullying affected him, which is where the reader will learn about how he fell down the incel pipeline and didn't finish high school. Mia is shocked and devastated, feeling guilty about being the indirect cause of all of that even though Oliver refuses to hear it. He stresses that he's better now and doesn't think any of those thoughts.

Mia is astounded that he can even stand being in the same room as Stacy, let alone be coworkers with her. That goes to show how far he's come and that it really doesn't bother him most of the time. Sure he doesn't like being around her but she's changed too and most of the time she isn't that bad. Maybe they do need to try and rein in a little bit, he admits. Mia thinks she's going to have trouble doing that and they have a moment where they're both super adorable with each other about how they're the best thing that ever happened to each other and then they both realize fuck maybe they have a point.

Oliver thinks it's best if he doesn't come to work for a while, at least not until he and Mia are more used to being a couple. She rolls with it since his power doesn't make it sound weird to her that he can just not come to work whenever he wants, but she takes it to mean they're going to have to work on that a lot together- which she points out suggestively. Oliver says he didn't explicitly mean it that way but wouldn't mind the implication.

Mia proposes that they get high together with edibles that night and watch anime right there on the couch together. She will have mentioned that she takes edibles too sometimes so it's not a shock to him that she suggests it but it comes out of left field. He wonders if that's a good idea, still worried about her roommate. Mia lets him in on a little more about Zoe, explaining that she's basically a NEET. She keeps all of her food back there in a mini fridge, hardly sleeps, has headphones on, and she texted her ahead of time that he would be over. Zoe will probably go to the bathroom at some point but it's right next to her room and she won't see them in case anything happens.

Oliver takes this to mean something will happen, Mia is playful and says she doesn't know, she's never been high with her boyfriend before and is unsure if she can keep her hands to herself- signs pointing to no. The two of them have a gummy together but she got the bottle wrong and it's a pretty strong one so they spend the night being adorably high. They switch activities frequently, going from paying attention to the anime on screen, feeding each other snacks, and constantly groping each other but not going all the way. Mia is even more clingy and passionate when she is high, loving to touch him and give him kisses while Oliver is just along for the ride and loves feeling her up.

The high is so strong that it doesn't show any signs of letting up so after hours and hours of feeling each other up, they end up dry humping each other. It doesn't stop it just once. It becomes a blur of doing it every hour or so, them getting a little bit more naked each time. By the end, they're naked and having thigh sex. It's the best thing ever but they are super tired after that one and they both agree to sleep. Oliver thanks her for standing up to Stacy again before they do.

Not relevant here but I think it's pretty obvious that Zoe saw them at some point during the night but they were just too high to realize.

Come morning and they are very close now and Oliver is absolutely certain he's in love with Mia, but her idle comment about how fast this is all going makes him question his powers and plants the seed for his later action. He'll want to tell her the truth but not right that second.

4.5 - Oliver consults with Bradley about how and when to confess about his powers. Bradley is against it, saying it could majorly damage the relationship he's built so far and so on. Oliver doesn't back down and at this point he will need to buy the skill that makes it so his love interests can see his powers if they believe him. He takes a gamble on it, believing that if what they have is real then Mia will believe him.

He confesses to her the next time they see each other, Oliver having her over most likely. He makes it sound like he has something serious to say and she is worried that it's not working out or something along those lines but he is quick to put a damper on that. It's hard to say what he has to say so he lingers on the point for a while before just getting out with it and telling her to remember when she said how fast it's all going. She's worried if they need to slow down, because she would be fine if that's the case. No, that's not it either.

Oliver explains the reason is moving so fast and he talks about the whole dating game system powers he has going on. Initially, Mia is worried for his mental health. She's clearly thinking about the stuff with Stacy and she tries to make sure that it didn't upset him more than he let on. Through it all she is very supportive, saying that they can get him some help but Oliver gets her to question some of the things that have been happening lately, including the part where she would be fine with him hitting on another girl.

It turns out that convincing a girl to believe him isn't that hard because once it gets in their head it's hard to get out. Mia starts coming around to it and she asks for some kind of tangible proof he could give her. He will demonstrate his poor skills at something and then buy a skill that makes him really good at it instantly, which is enough for Mia to believe him. It all dawns on her at once and she starts realizing all of the weird things that have been happening lately.

She wants to know why he told her this when he could've just gone on without her even knowing. When she hears he wants to be honest, she's very happy. Then she flips it around and it's her turn to be honest. She's spent the last year hoping he would notice her and ask her out- if it took magic dating sim powers to get him to do it than she doesn't give a fuck. The time they've spent together has been the best thing ever and she imagines Oliver has been through a lot because of all these weird changes. Stresses that he's not alone anymore and that he should fill her in on absolutely everything. He does, and they are much closer by the end of the talk.

That day ends really well and Mia leaves early so that she can think about everything. They agree on getting her affection meter up all the way to the last heart event and they will figure out bigger things from there.

5 - it doesn't take long to max it out. Oliver isn't really sure what qualifies as a heart event so they just agree to go on a date together that night and see if anything happens. There is some suggestive meaning behind that- Mia already has a pretty good idea of what her heart event is and she is ready to give it to him, so to speak. They have a really nice time on their date and it's a little surprising how normal this has all become for them. Not just the dating, but the idea of him having powers.

When the date is over, she suggests they go back to her place which he is obviously cool with. Zoe is doing her thing is always and won't be a problem. They hang out together and chat for a few hours before Mia asks him if the heart event has happened and if the UI has changed yet. She plays coy with him, thinking he should maybe be a little bit more proactive about figuring out what the trigger is. Oliver thinks about it way too hard and Mia ends up rolling her eyes at him only to go to the bathroom.

A minute later, Mia throws a ball at him and disappears into her bedroom, leaving him totally confused. He's much less so when he unravels the ball and realizes it's her panties. He takes the hint and follows her back there. When he walks in he's confused because she isn't there, but she was waiting behind the door and hugs him from behind. Mia spells it out for him in case there was any doubt- how much do you want to bet that fifth heart icon will fill in after we trade virginities? Oliver is over the moon and is like are you serious, tells him to turn around and see how serious she is.

Mia is fully naked, the first time he's gotten to see her like that. She enters passion mode and pushes him back against the bed where they begin to make out. Before they have sex they share an intimate moment where they tell each other I love you and they have sex for the first time. Mia is proven correct, that was indeed her heart event, and they are both incredibly happy. This happiness is interrupted by system stuff which announces he has completed Mia's route, congratulating him on his progress while saying his adventures with Mia don't end here and he can now purchase skills for her.

They are curious and they check out what's available, resulting in their discovery of the skill that will cure her tendinitis. The moment is serious between them and Oliver gets it for her as a test. Mia is overwhelmed by what happens and she doesn't know what to say, instead showing her gratitude through action and her trademark passion- showering him in 'I love yous' while giving him a handjob fit for a god. She calms down afterwards but is still giddy over it, and Oliver's main takeaway is how good it feels to help her with her problems.

Aftermath - Whether or not it happens the same night for the next day, Mia is the one who proposes what happens next. His powers already make it so that she doesn't mind sharing him but she goes out of her way to tell him she probably wouldn't have cared either way as she's pretty into that. Mia argues that he cured the biggest problem in her life and thanks to him she can start chasing her dream again more seriously. Following that logic, it's safe to assume that every other girl classified as a potential heroine can be helped by Oliver somehow. Mia jokes that for all the guys who think they are God's gift to women, Oliver actually is and he should chase any opportunity to develop his powers and help other girls that he can. He can't farm love points from Mia forever, so they were going to have to expand, anyway.

While overwhelmed, Oliver follows her logic and is up for it as long as she is. The problem in the near horizon here is that the only other heroines his powers have identified are Stacy and Tessa. Neither of them wants to go after Stacy, and jumping from Mia to Tessa would feel like beating your first slime and then challenging the demon lord. To counter this, Oliver will need to branch out. First of all Mia plans a get together with some of her friends, most of whom are single. That party will go well but no one causes his powers to go off. I might introduce a sleeper character who doesn't initially register here, but my plans aren't fully concrete yet. He needs someone naive and meek to balance out everyone else so there is potential for her to have a friend who is too innocent to even register as a heroine at first, but the big moment is after the party ends Zoe leaves her room for the first time and that's when his powers activate.

Mia is initially not happy, but it is what it is.
