Nottingham forest i believe in miracles..is a real football miracle of a story and the brilliant unique brian clough and a good watch..if you like the underdog

Andy Gore

Where Man U played football for 5 mins? 😂

Andy B

The camera angles they used for the goals in this edit are so whack. Much easier to see what's going on when you get the wide shot.

Mark McKeown

As a 17 year old at the time, that night was the best night of my life

Mark

Man Utd in 99 still the most epic I've witnessed

BrizeeB

Mike I hope you do watch alongs to the World Cup next year at least to the USA and England games

zStarr

Steven Gerrard is not just from Liverpool but lost his cousin in the Hillsborough disaster. The youngest victim, I think he was only 9. I'm not a footy fan, but from the area and you couldn't not be affected.

Bethan Williams

The Champions League Final has a much bigger global TV audience than the Super Bowl, 450m to 182m.

Thomas

For sure this is our Superbowl equivalent

Mn B

Great game a watched it live at the time! That and manchester utd v Bayern munich final are the most iconic games ive ever seen!

Theloyalmuppet

Might be worth reacting to Liverpool vs West Ham United FA Cup Final 2006. The best FA Cup final that has ever been

D

One of the most phenomenal games in football history. The pride & passion of Liverpool Football Club has no true equivalent in the English Premier League & I say that coming from Liverpool’s arch enemy, the team in red from Manchester. You cannot but admire the Liverpool squad that year & their self belief against seemingly insurmountable odds 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Frank Mac

A friend of mine, Steve Sharrat, a massive Liverpool fan was at the game. He said at half time that one guy said "sod this" and left to go to the bar. Missed one of the best comebacks of all time. Unfortunately Steve died during Covid but he had the joy of watching his team win against the odds. RIP Steve, my friend.

Graeme Frew

Mike and Jess the full match isn't on YouTube I don't think but there is a DVD you can buy in the UK so it might be on Amazon over there. Taking in the whole match as it builds is well worth doing as you say

Richard Stokes

I'm not a Liverpool fan but it gets me every time when at half time they are 3 nil down and the fans know they are losing to a better team but they just refuse to let their spirit be crushed and keep the faith, they truly believed they could comeback and win it, really extraordinary to watch

Richard Stokes

As a team together it was new territory for this LFC to get that far in the competition although most of their players had played many games against European teams in the top Champions League tournament and the 2nd tier UEFA Cup tournament. Plus nearly all the Liverpool players had played for their countries in international games. Past and distant club history doesn't have any bearing on the current time.

Fordy7169

Not my team, but yes a great event and comeback. The highs of the Liverpool fans and the massive low of the Milan supporters. However AC Milan did get some revenge 2 years later when they beat Liverpool in the Final in Athens (2007) but in an easy win in normal time (90 mins)

Fordy7169

It’s funny watching this back. Dudek was sooo far off his line during the pens lol, he might as well be on the six yard line lol.

Sam Dilks

Are you allowed to meet your subscribers? If so then when you come over I'll take you to a game. It won't be quite this level (Portsmouth; but should be pointed out we faced pretty much the same ACM side three years later) but still an assault on the senses if it's a good day.

I was at the game. it was the singularly most surreal night of my life. YNWA

Clem Fandango

Cant tell if youre joking or cant remember his name 🤣

Great reaction guys. As a neutral, this is one of the all time classic football matches. Only sour taste in the mouth for me as a Leeds fan (and probably for a few Liverpool fans too) was that the coward Kewell got to pick a medal up for this game Also, thanks for making me feel old by pointing out it was 20 years ago ffs 😫

Daz Parker

Liverwho? - Super Leeds United

Jimmy Sandwiches

Ignoring all the choobs, I'm a Scottish football fan so have no affiliation to any English team, and I remember this night well. I think it's slightly misleading to say Milan were 'heavy' favourites. Certainly favourites, but Liverpool have a great history when it comes to Europe, and had won a lesser European competition just 4 years before. They also have the most European cups (or Champions league cups) of any British team, although their last win of this before 2005 was 20 years earlier. As a club, they were certainly experienced when it came to European football. Great reaction folks 🙂

Coleyman

Penalties are great if it's not your team taking them.

Terrahawk

Great choice, this final was epic, they were total underdogs going up against the Harlem Globetrotters of football at the time, that Milan team truly had all the stars of football at that time

Richard Stokes

Awwww poor Marco 😢 do you need a tissue to wipe your tears? The most successful team in England! Get it right up ya 🤣🤣🤣

Joe O'Toole

Wow, some very bitter fans of rivals in the comments! The videos only been up an hour and its already ruffled peoples delicate egos!

Stretch

One of those Liverpool players, Jamie Carragher, spat in the face of a young girl who supports Manchester United. Vile man. Caught on camera, yet still kept his job as a Sky Sports pundit.

Thomas

Unless you was around watching it at the time you truly can't grasp how crazy this nite was. As a Liverpool follower I actually fucked off outside just before halftime to walk the dog once AC Milan put 3 away, I was done with the game mentally, I got back home just before we scored our first and then we put a second away and I actually sat down again ready to watch history. Look at the idiots we have now! We won the Premier league this year but that is one average team! Just lucky the others were even less than average this year.

Gary

A horrible, horrible football club. And I say that as someone who has no affiliation with England or English football.

Moody Marco

This is fun, but a penalty shootout doesn't come across well. My advice would be keep an eye on the upcoming World Cup, as it's in your timezone and if anything is hinting at going to pens (the group stages don't), start watching it. It's much more on the edge.

Andy

As a football referee, I would have made AC Milan retake the first two penalties as the goalkeeper came off his line BEFORE the ball was strucjk. The rules state he must remain on his line until ball is struck, if you check out the goalie's position he had advanced towards the ball onto the pitch before it had been struck.

Sibbo

Please react to Leicester's league win in 15/16! The biggest underdog story in sport.

Tom H

I just have to tell You that penalty shoot outs are the most stressful events in sport , for me anyway . I can’t watch any penalties if they are taken by England or my team Tottenham . I have to leave the room. It’s too much 😂. Yes if it’s equal in a cup game like this they have extra time then if it isn’t settled it goes to penalty shoot outs. It is so so stressful haha

Erica

I'm a Leeds fan, and I can still remember this. Probably the greatest cup final ever

Andy McCann

This was a two leg semi final. First game at the Camp Nou in Barcelona, second at Anfield in Liverpool. Barcelona had the likes of Messi in their team and it was unthinkable that they wouldn’t at least score 1 at Anfield in the return leg after being 3-0 up from the first. Cue an unbelievable night of football. Liverpool went on to win the final v Tottenham Hotspur.

Paul Cole

Another thing I don't thing you realised is liverpool scored there 3 goals in 6 mins I remember being out in the pub with all my mates that 1st half we were so deflated and them 6 minutes the feeling was the best feeling I've ever experienced the nerves for the rest of the match and the partys after it the streets in liverpool were full everyone honking their horns fireworks going off was unreal

Craig Burns

You'll get a few comments doing football reactions. We're very tribal over our football teams here. I remember watching this game, not a Liverpool fan but it was an incredible comeback. Another good one for you to potentially react to is Manchester United vs Bayern Munich from the 1999 final.

Mike Currie

Now you need to do the Liverpool v Barcelona 4-3 tie. I was at the Anfield game. Best night of my life! Lost my voice for a week afterwards. https://youtu.be/27hFDrXO6Tw?si=8KjwIl1dd4UE7EDB

Paul Cole

Hope you checked whether your mate Andy was a Liverpool fan and not a toffes fan (Everton) the other premiership club.

Sibbo

To be fair, you need to also watch the 99 final with Manchester united

Scott

Remember it well... I was 20 years old in Yates Wine Lodge on allerton road in south Liverpool. I would consider this night a core memory. The absolute low at half time, the Everton fans amongst us loving every minute.. and then that 2nd half. Oh what I night, we ended up in Liverpool City Centre in a club called medication and it was booming. It felt like everyone was out in town! It was also my first champions league final win. I also remember the run in ganes so vivid (Gerrard goal olympiacus late on, I was next door to Yates wine lodge in the "New York"). I then met my partner shortly after the final, oh memories

Chris Burns

Hi, the two teams play a 90 minute game (kicking 45 minutes in each direction). As the score was tied 3 - 3 after the 90 minutes, they play a further 30 minutes (kicking 15 minutes each way). If the scores are then level, they have a penalty shoot out with each team taking 5 penalties, if the scores are tied after 5 penalties they take turns to take another penalty until one team ends up victorious.

John Laverty

So the game finished 3-3. Then they had two 15min periods of extra time. Then it goes to a penalty shootout. Whoever scores the most from 5 penalties each wins. If it’s still level after that then it’s sudden death penalties. Both teams take one each until one team scores and the other doesn’t. Sudden death wasn’t needed here, Liverpool won the shootout 3-2.

Paul Cole

Always remember Dudek being 3 feet off his line for each save. VAR would've had a field day

Robert McMillan

Still hard to believe this happened. This was an absolute legendary AC Milan team as well, the best in Europe in the 2000's - about 8 of their XI for this game are now regarded as some of the best players of all time.

nwall89

Brave choice, considering how tribal we all are about our football teams.

Thomas

Best fans and best city you mean

Craig Burns

Can't remember his name, but Mike and Jess have a pal living in Liverpool and he joined the Discord voice chat for the boxing. He definitely voted on this.

Andy

Not a fan of Liverpool but as a fan of football, I remember watching this unfold live. Incredible match. Forgot how far Jerzy Dudek came off his line on those penalties. He was miles off for Pirlo's pen!

Mike Reaney

Can you react to the top sing you'll never walk alone to the players after winning the league

Craig Burns

Yuk The worst fans and city in the UK
