Well, I'm mighty glad Axel can see through Margery's blatant attempts at buttering him up...though I worry he's developed a hankering for beautiful-but-crazy women and Margery ticks too many boxes 😵

2025-06-29 00:27:14 +0000 UTCWhile Sandor is interesting and I'd LOVE for him and Axel to become bros, I'm STILL pulling for Axel, knowing the pain of bastardry, wanting to meet Jon Snow, seeing he's a good fighter, and makes Jon his seventh Kingsguard. Also, that way for possibly the first time, the North is represented in the Kingsguard; after all the North doesn't really do "knights", so has there ever been a Northerner in the Kingsguard before? Also in Axel's mind it'd be honoring and doing Ned a favor while also cooling Catelyn's tits over Jon since Kingsguard can't marry, father children, or inherit while they wear the white cloak.

2025-06-28 02:32:26 +0000 UTCHonestly, if Arianne told Axel in more detail about Gregor’s misdeeds against the Martells and just his overall brutality after a bit of pillow talk, Axel would probably be fully on board with getting Gregor to come and provoke him into a suicide via Axel. Oberyn would fill heartedly support Arianne marrying Axel just for that. Hell, even if the two didn’t marry, Oberyn would probably be so high off the beatdown that he’d call Axel brother anyways.

2025-06-27 23:44:48 +0000 UTCI'm not exactly a fan of Asha Greyjoy, but I insist that personality wise, she is a better fit for Axel than any of the current options. And though the actress in the TV show is not exactly a beauty, she is not ugly either. In the books I think she is a bit more attractive too. Sansa is too sheltered and naive, while Arianne is too spoiled and impulsive. Asha instead is willful and a bit of a brute, but she does have experience leading men into battle and managing resources from her raiding expeditions. I'm more of a Margery fan, but I get that she is not a prudent option here. Second one would be Arya but I think politically it would not be proper to propose to her when her eldest sister is available, especially with Axel saying he doesn't want a wife too much younger than him and Sansa is already 3 years younger. Third would be Daenerys but events have not happened yet to let her be an option either. Fourth favorite is post-war Sansa, pre-war she is just not a good fit. Fifth is Asha. Then either of the Sand Snakes. Arianne is in last place for my fav girls in ASOIAF. So by process of elimination I must insist on Asha.
