2025-06-26 12:31:54 +0000 UTCJust had a thought. There is ONE SPOT left in Axel's Kingsguard, yes? What if Axel hears about Ned Stark's "bastard", and out of solidarity wants to meet him? Ned would HAVE to bring Jon if commanded. Axel sees a bit of himself in Jon Snow, sees he has good talent, and offers to legitimize him as a Stark DEPENDANT upon Jon entering the Kingsguard. Jon gets the legitimacy he's craved and the honor of being a Kingsguard, while simultaneously removing the "threat" he poses to Ned's trueborn children. Also means if Sansa becomes Axel's Queen, she'll have her "brother" there to look after her since "the lone wolf dies alone".

Better to place someone that isn't a back stabbing little bastard like Tywin as a Lord Paramount. Someone he can pick himself, rather than be forced on him. I mean letting Mace keep his position was bad enough, but letting Cersei and Tywin get away with everything they've done is even worse.
