Where do you read my Patreon Exclusives?

Hey guys, trying to figure out some demographics on my Patreon.

That said, please respond to the poll below for me, every data point helps!

P.S. if I missed some obvious method, hit Other and toss me a comment letting me know below.

P.P.S if you haven't yet, please strongly consider joining my Patreon-Only Discord where I'm available for chatting most hours of the day unless I'm asleep or away from home!

Instructions for getting into the Discord: You need to go into Settings and then under the "More" drop down menu you're looking for "Connected Apps" and from there you can connect your Discord to your Patreon account. At which point Patreon should automatically pull you into my Discord and assign you the correct role based on your pledge to my Patreon Page.

If you don't already have a Discord Account, you will need to make one before following the instructions above. If you don't necessarily want to be bombarded with Discord Pings all the time, I would still love it if you joined up anyways and just muted the whole thing along with relevant notifications. All you really have to do is suppress @everyone since that's the only thing I currently use when posting about story updates.

Comments

All of the above, personally. Just depends on what I have access to when something drops and I have time to read.

Erinnyes

Heh yeah, I deleted the two test posts this morning so they won't work anymore

Cambrian

The attachments did not open in the email. I got a 404 not found error.

JRC

It depends, but probably by app. Some creators post chapters directly in the post, so when I get the email, I'll just read there. But when there're polls, I obviously tap on the Patreon button to go to the app. And I use the app to download the attachments unless I'm using a PC.

Hadrian v.E.

All of the above, but the attachment does not open from app. You have to go to website to open attachment. I prefer link to google doc.

John McCormick

App if I'm mobile, site if at computer.

Vacivus

I use the email for notifications usually, but then I'll usually read through the app. The PDF file worked well, but i couldn't get the epub to work, but if i could, that would be great to use.

Ben B

ngl i'm kinda surprised so many people use the app when, at least the last time I checked, it doesn't let you change the text size. website has allways been more convenient for me, especially using the mobile opera browser where the text will automatically adjust to the screen width when I zoom.

SaintMichael95

App or website, depending on whether my phone or pc is more convenient for me at the time.

A_Jaffa_Boyo

I found you through Fanfiction. This one nice Natsu and Julia fic you wrote. Then I found your pateron. Been reading on the app since.

Instinct

Is there a reason you won’t put the pdf/epub files on the post or email? It’s just an annoying extra hoop to go through to find it on discord.

John

I usually read through Email or the App

Kael Hyun

I get the emails and usualy read it their and then use the link to go to patreon to like the post

daniel riggle

Pat App and QQ

Akuma-Heika

I read through the app and the site, but it really is terrible for catching up after missing a few weeks of updates on a story. I should try stove of the other ways

RHar

Both : patreon app and email notifications

Fiduciam

app on phone and website pc

Setsuna

Bit of both with the email and reading on the website.

Dr.Elf

Usually the app on my tablet, but if I'm on my computer and a new chapter pops up in Discord I sometimes read from there.

WildMartin

Not sure I'll be doing any long form EPUBs tbh, probably going to be sticking to single chapter EPUBs. However, you can download a PDF/EPUB file of the entirety of most of my current stories over on Archive of Our Own. Just won't have the latest four chapters so it's not perfect but it is a solid option for TTS

Cambrian

Read through app but would love to have an epub option for some of the longer stories maybe every like 10 chapters and epub of the story from start to current would be much easier to use with tts

axel rose

Multiple answers not selectable, lol.

MasterKronus

The primary reason I read through the Patreon website and not the Discord files is being able to open a tab and just leave it open until I've read the chapter. I do the same thing for other websites and Google Docs files.

Phraxius

You should use the other type of poll, the one where you can select multiple answers. I use app on mobile, and the site on PC.

Tristan R Mitchell

App on phone

CastEd

Patreon Website, and then the Email notification sometimes.

godUsoland

App on phone and website pc

yan boul

I use the Discord. Wanted to get use to it for when things with patreon inevitably go south.

RanmaChaos

App on tablet, email if app doesn't load, website or discord on PC

VaticToxic

App on phone, website when on Pc

Zarek21

App on phone. Website on computer.

Joshua Graham

I use both the App and the Website.

Michael Woodbury

Email and /or the website.

Rann Organa

If I'm at the computer when the discord notification gets sent, I click the link for the website. Otherwise, I read it on the app.

JBurton

App and email

IEU097

I read through the app, mostly because I dont want to bother downloading and then deleting the epubs you post on discord. Tho, I might start doing so if it turns out patreon is removing some posts... Not like I NEED to remember to delete smut off my phone. 😂

TUSF

+ 1

Rann Organa

Email and patreon website

blackice191

App and emails.

BlueFanfictionInc

App and Email

MrMarauder

I mostly read through email notifs, though if I get a backlog built up I tend to go to the Patreon app. Discord I only use when you post a new story idea

Berix

Generally through the app but if for some reason it gets taken down by patreon I read through the email
