Good News

Just a general update, but I'm getting a lot done this week. I went back to using a program to track my words per day and challenge me to do more, been ranging 4-5k a day. So much so that I've actually started the earliest stages of the Rise of the Guild Master reboot! I'm doing what I normally do, writing an outline first. It just might be a bit lazier than the outlines I usually do in one way. When I have chapters I can adapt/retool, I'll just mention that in the outline.

Like for example it'll have all the new stuff leading up to it and then it just says (rewrite GM helping Sam with the slimes) so that I don't waste time.

No idea how long it'll take to flesh out plans for volume one since my goal is still getting Coye 3 done by the end of the month, but I hope to work on both in tandem in the near future.

Need some feedback on a few things, though.

The new cause of the eyestrain and eventual cause of Taskmaster; I mentioned how when he was really little GM wandered into the Gnarled Woods after an argument with his grandpa and Niall had to rescue him. Was thinking of retooling this event into being the catalyst, and he wandered into some long forgotten cave or something and stumbled upon something that cursed him with painful yet powerful eyesight, same as the old version, but in this one he'd have always been able to look at women. It might mean his suffering wasn't *as* bad, but I can make up for that in other ways. This is because it wasn't a curse, but it's just an ancient power that's been sealed away for some reason and it'll be much more fleshed out as historically being used to develop the potentials of girls. Not tying it to Luxy's old 'destined' thing means I can add non adventurers to the system too, so the maids, Gwin and so on could get buffs too. I'll need to think about the implications of this on the lore, but I think it'd be doable. And it would make sense that he didn't discover this until Sam, since he'd been so focused on his career to ever even think about starting relationships. 

As for Gpa's death, it'd be the same, only instead of him not wanting to be an adventurer it would just be Gpa being absolutely against him joining the Association in any way, claiming GM was too soft and that the lifestyle of a Guild Master would kill him. He'd be like I didn't work my ass off to get you those glasses just for you to waste your life following in my footsteps.

I think this would make GM's relationship with his Gpa more interesting if he's inspired to prove him wrong and at the start he's at a point in his life where's he's like Gpa was right about me, that old fucking bastard. But even though he might talk more shit about Gpa in the beginning, it'll be pretty obvious he still loves him. Overall I'm planning on GM being in a much worse state than he was at the start of the old version, but he'll sober up and get into shit by the end of the first volume and I think it'll be really nice.
