Just to reassure everyone that I am hard at work with the seamless co-op mod for Dark Souls 2.
As I've mentioned before, an overwhleming amount of the work has been reverse engineering stuff (and trawling through lots of x86 assembly) to understand how the game works. Once I had familiarised myself with it, getting sessions to work without the matchmaking server being involved was the next step.
After I had accomplished that, I posted the announcement post on Patreon to get an idea on whether it was something that the community at large wanted.
Now, the mod is in mid-stage development. I have a playable form of seamless co-op working without a lot of the features common to the mods (e.g. shared progress, interactive items, etc.). Once those key features are added, I'll begin pre-alpha testing with some friends to squish any problematic / unplayable bugs.

I plan on making a video discussing the mod development and it's challenges, along with some gameplay at some point in the near future -- I'm still quite new to publically discussing the development of the projects, so I'm happy to take any feedback / suggestions / criticism to help me improve for the future.
A quick note that this mod will be for the 64-bit, Scholar of The First Sin edition only, and I don't have any plans to support the original 32-bit game.
