Thankfully it appears this comment was written after they watched episode 3. For episode 2 it's a spoiler. There is no reason in episode 2 to write this stuff otherwise defend or explain Theon.

Indeed audio immersion is such a huge factor in being properly immersed and fully enjoying a tv show or movie.

I hated that scene with Theon and Tara on the horse. It wasn’t in the books and it seemed that it was just there for shock value. Well I guess hate is a strong word it’s more of an eye roll type feeling. It just seemed like a pointless scene. I liked the book version better when his uncle damphair took him to the castle. I felt like it fit better with how Theon must of felt coming back home after ten years of being a “ward” aka nicely treated hostage. When he comes back everything is the same but different. He meets his uncle who he remembers being a fun jovial man and who is now a serious brooding godly man who greets Theon with a cold silent disapproval and questions Theon’s loyalty to the starks and their gods and customs. Every person he reunites with treats him coldly because they think he isn’t iron born anymore and that he’s soft.
Theon expected a warm welcome by family he’s dearly missed and hasn’t seen in a decade give or take. The last time he saw his home was after the war where Robert Baratheon and Ned stark took him away. His brothers had died in the fight and his home attacked. He cared for rob and had a semblance of respect for Ned, but he never felt like he was part of the family because he wasn’t treated like one. He was close only to rob but even then he felt like an outsider.
So he gets home his uncle dismisses him as a soft man more stark that Greyjoy, his father openly and harshly criticizes his clothing, loyalty to rob and calls him soft and basically says he’s a disappointment.
Sure he loves rob as a younger brother and cares a bit for the other siblings but he never loved Ned because he was so cold and he scared Theon a bit. He felt like he was looked on as lower than John snow a bastard.
Understandably he never felt like he was part of the stark family be the wasn’t. He was a hostage to ensure that balon Greyjoy his father wouldn’t cause any more trouble again.
I’m not defending Theon I’m just giving some context to his feelings and his experiences. And I feel bad for him when he is greeted so poorly by the people who are his real blood family who he’s missed for so long.

I don't mind the headsets at all. I actually prefer if you have better audio (if they are better?) for the sake of better immersion.

We've provided them with the official known world map and a kingdoms map that are both quite detailed, and provide them with other, spoiler free maps down the road if needed/useful, we asked them not to look at anything else because things (like this web page) can have huge spoilers on them. If they accidentally scroll too far on this it basically gives away massive plot events near the end of the series in seconds.

This is a pretty good visual of what the lay of the land looks like per season. Might be useful in immersing yourselves into the story/politics/conflicts etc. Don't scroll past the first map tho cuz they have the map per season and the other maps has spoilers.

HBO at the time was worried about the show and had mandated to directors to add as much sex as possible where they could.

They've been a bit too immersed in the incest between HotD and starting GoT around the same time I think lol! Their brains just go right to it now.

To answer your question. Yes, Craster, the guy with all the daughters beyond the wall, is a wildling. But he's not with any tribe, he's out on his own with his daughters. He's the closest wildling to the wall. That's why the nights watch relies on him to let them set up camp there for a while before they go deeper into wildling territory.

"How did this get approved". Lol. I think alot of people forgets, (even tho it shows at the Beginning of every episode ) that this is an Hbo show which has had softcore sex scenes for decades lol.
