Thank you for explaining these points to us. The complexity and quality of the author's writing is astounding.

1. About Ymir's Death and Titan Transferring: Yes, you're right: in the present time of the show, if a Titan shifter dies without passing their Titan, the Titan is inherited by a baby yet to be born, as Eren once said. But a crucial part of this possibility, also explained by Eren right after, is the existence of the Paths—the fact that every Eldian is connected through the Paths to the Coordinate, that is, the Founding Titan. If you watch this episode again, you will notice that when Ymir dies, she reaches the Paths realm, but that "glowing tree," in the beginning, wasn't present. After her daughters consume her body (yikes!), we can see a glowing tree with just three branches, showing us that now Maria, Rose, and Sina are connected through the Paths. The present-day tree has many branches, representing all Subjects of Ymir. So, why wasn't Ymir's Titan transferred to a baby yet to be born, as the show established in season 3? Because at that time there is no such thing as the Paths, these light branches of the glowing tree that connect the Eldians to the Founding Titan. 2. What Changed to Allow the Random Transference: The Paths are exactly what allow Ymir (and the Founding Titan) to change Subjects of Ymir anatomy, as Ksaver once told us. So, when the Paths are available, the Founder Ymir can influence an Eldian through it, and so the conditions are there for the transference. This makes us understand that, much probably, Ymir herself execute these random transferences. 3. Why Did Ymir Choose to Obey King Fritz? That's one of the mysteries you should try to think about yourselves ;). What's your opinion on that? Why would she do so many things for that awful king? 4. How Did They Come to the Conclusion That Eating Ymir Would Pass the Power? Maybe Ymir told King Fritz about the glowing centipede that touched her... and ancient people had their own degree of intelligence (or rather, we ourselves would not be here today). They may have associated that Ymir was touched by a parasite of sorts, and that eating her would pass it on. 5. Why Eren Came to that Conclusion: It's no lie that the world despises Eldian and fear Titan power. This people, abusing their power, dominated the world for 1,800 years. They even formed an Global Alliance of Nations to "solve" the Titan problem, and their solution is the same as Eren's, but reversed: the erradication of Paradis people. Another solution pointed to the problem was Zeke's solution: the Euthanasia, castrating Eldians and wiping them out in a 100 years or so. Is this better? Worst? Can we really blame Eren here? Imagine that your family and friends lives in Paradis. Would you let the world kill them? Would you castrate them? Try to solve with diplomacy? Diplomacy can work here? What would you do?

Ymirs back story has heavy ties to Norse mythology. Tree of Yggdrasil, Ymir, the Rumbling representing Ragnarok, the numbers 3 and 9. The author was heavily influenced by it. The creation of the power system I wouldn’t overthink it too hard. It’s just showing how it came to be.
