JUNGKOOK - “Dreamers” | Our Reaction to the Music Video + Live (World Cup) Performance!

WATCH HERE: VIMEO or DROPBOX

PASSWORD: WWJK22

Creating any anthem is hard. Creating an anthem that compels people to listen over and over again is even harder. Creating a global anthem that successfully merges/unites cultures, provides listeners with hope, joy, and inspiration, and immediately evokes “MJ” vibes…is nearly impossible.

JK and Qatari singer, Fahad Al Kubaisi, accomplished just this. Seeing them embrace one another on stage with such authenticity and bliss gave us chills. “Dreamers” is a powerful and contagious anthem that captures the spirit of our shared humanity. We dream. We persevere. We unite. We celebrate our differences.

ARMY, would it surprise you if we told you that we’ve been binge-listening to this song since this reaction video?

While we didn’t examine the lyrics to this song, we would love to do a deeper dive at some point…perhaps if/when a MV Shooting Sketch or behind the scenes content of some sort becomes available? Let us know what you think!

JK’s “swag” has officially become “ICON STATUS.”

ARMY, we have a few questions for you:

1. Which team/country are you rooting for in the FIFA 2022 World Cup?

2. Did JK play soccer in his early days?

3. RM DILEMMA: We are a bit crunched for time ahead of the release of RM’s new album, and are wondering which of the following three paths should we choose:

    * Listen to both of RM’s previous mixtapes (‘RM’ and ‘Mono’) before diving into ‘Indigo’?

    * Just listen to ‘Mono’ before diving into ‘Indigo’…and then loop back around to ’RM’ at a later date.

    * Jump right into ‘Indigo’ and then loop back around to ‘RM’ and ‘Mono’ at a later date.

As always, we truly appreciate your love and support (WE’LL CONTINUE SAYING THIS UNTIL THE END OF TIME). Your subscription allows us to produce higher-quality reaction videos, and moves us closer to our goal of doing this full-time! Let us know if you have any questions, feedback, thoughts, etc. at any time! BORAHAE!! 💜💜

JUNGKOOK - “Dreamers” | Our Reaction to the Music Video + Live (World Cup) Performance!

Comments

Hello J & J I just wanted you to know that there’s a Dreamers World Cup performance Jungkook focus Fancam and honestly it’s so much better than the official FiFA video. Even if you don’t react to it you will enjoy it. https://youtu.be/bowcSLQshC8?si=o6E1Jtrfgh40UaAm. On this episode we could witness how much our guys have grown and how their level is over the top. That’s the reason the original choreography was below JK’s expectations. Also I’m proud how well he managed the situation, he was very assertive to express his opinion without being bossy or disrespectful.

Fabiola Gomez

That was a whale shark. They swarm in the waters around Qatar every year.

Liselle Viljoen

💜💜💜💜

Danica

Please please You need to react to the behind the scences that was just released about a week ago… it shows how much JK got involved with the dancing and stage set up … he’s so good 😄 link found in bangtan, the title is: fifa World Cup ceremony sketch.

Nikkie toms

Okay. I figured it out. Everyone besides Jin and Tae, have performed on their own even before BTS. JK came into BTS and spent years performing with them before he even performed a solo song. That’s it, that’s what I was feeling. With that new view of it then I have to say he did a fantastic job!

Joy Jenkins

Minor unpopular opinion. First, love the song. It’s great and perfectly fits a world anthem. The performance… Did JK do a fantastic job? Yes, without a doubt. But did he own the stage? I’m not sure he did. He’s comfortable there, of course. But I have to think of Hobi. The second he stepped onto the stage he owned it. He looked into the crowd and you felt the power, felt the fact that from that moment he owned the audience. I never once felt the absence of the other 6 members with Hobi, where I kinda did with JK. It felt like though he was surrounded by dancers he was alone. True, the music is very different between the two performances, so that could be why JK’s performance felt different to me. I don’t know, it was just an interesting feeling. Still love that he’s setting out on his own and got to do such an important song!

Joy Jenkins

Heyyy! Thanks for the reaction! Yes it was just a great anthem so fitting for the wc and so proud of him!!! Fifa organizers went to South Korea and requested JK specifically for the song and the performance! Jk in his weverse live he did right after said he had to learn everything in a few days and some of the choreo even the day before and wasn't really satisfied with the organization but he was glad it went smoothly in the end and nothing went wrong! Regarding your RM dilemma, DROP EVERYTHING YOU'RE DOING AND GO STRAIGHT TO INDIGO. As a rule of thumb I'd say go through the journey as planned but if there's a major release go straight to it!!! You can get to RM and mono later on. I'd say the key pieces of content to watch is first watch the album magazine film, then the Tiny desk, then the album with lyrics I think the admin from doolset said she got to all the lyrics by now!! And for Wild Flower (track 9) check the official MV! Feel free to divide it up maybe in several vids it's a lot to unpack.

Maëva

Had to stop your video to write this about We Are the World when you said, is that Whitney? NO! It’s Tina Turner!😂 I was a junior in high school when that came out😀 Singers in order of singing/appearance: Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon (Simon & Garfunkel), Kenny Rogers, James Ingram, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, MJ, Diana Ross and this is where you stopped.

Jane Rogers

I know y’all have mentioned Michael Jackson with Jungkook before but it’s funny that y’all did in this video. The producer of this song is Redone & he worked with MJ before his death. He also said in an interview that he is the one that choose JK.

Kimberly W.

a few songs from MONO first definitely

Sabrina K

Please reaction to bts festa 2021 room live

Lara

Jungkook 💜💜🔥😭

Lara

Please listen to Mono first. Despite I love all the members and as a Hobi bias, Mono is my all-time favorite album.

Vida Queenie

You should listen to Mono first. I’ve had it on repeat for two weeks now. It’s just soooo good. If your having a bad day it just soothes you. I feel like it would be something Jordan would play on a rainy day while drinking his tea. Mono is a pure masterpiece 💜 can’t wait to see what Indigo is going to sound like

Zoi

Well my dears, I would definitely said MONO at least. I am sooo excited for his new mixtape.

Kirssy Mago

Boys, that wasn't Whitney that was Tina Turner 😄 But I'll forgive you as you're so young 🤣

Nira

I totally agree with your third point. It makes a lot of sense to me.

Angie

💜

Anja⁷

I really hope you guys can check it out!! maybe even make a small reaction to it!! its an amazing fancam that armys worked hard to get and you can really see JK's personality come out as well as the cheers!!!

Jaspreet Multani

AMAZING REACTION!! some thoughts: - this is JK's debut stage!! each of the members who have done their debut has been hUGEE. (Jhope with hobipalloza, Jin in ArJINtina with Coldplay, and now JK at the world cup as his debut stage) - JK was have some mic issues and could not hear himself yet had a PERFECT pitch - he also learnt the cheoro the day before!!! - ARMYs are so so so proud, I watched it live and I literally was crying. I felt so happy for him - the lyrics speak to BTS and everyone. We are the Dreamers, we make it happen bc we see it and we believe it. respect for keeping the passion and the magic. Dreamers keep going and pushing through the struggle and hardships and we make it happen. it is so so inspirational!!! - armys were a little sad that they cut out the clips of JK doing the cheoro but ARMYS were at the stadium!! and they were able to get a fan cam of his dance if you want to check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6FdsalJA7Q - ALSOO the fifa was smart not to announce JK's performance or song until after all the tickets were sold out bc as you know the stadium would have then been FULL of armys. BUT a lot of ARMYS were still able to get in through resellers and we were lucky to have the amazing fan cam that I included above!!

Jaspreet Multani

hi, hope you are both well <3 sorry if this gets long, i’ve never left a comment before, and there’s just so much to say about mono. usually i wouldn’t think it’s a priority to listen to an artist’s previous works before their latest project just for that element of surprise/having less specific expectations, but bts are (as usual) a little different. all their mixtapes so far are so incredibly reflective of themselves in that specific time frame and they’re a real personal insight to who they are, intimately, artistically etc. i’m sure you’re aware by now how these men aren’t afraid to get raw, open up real deep. mono especially is a deep dive into namjoon’s introspection of where he was at during his early twenties, a mirror to what he went through in those years. and those years were…they were something. though he draws on some experiences that are obviously only relatable to someone in his position, somehow he still manages to tap into feelings that are universal to everyone. and that’s powerful stuff. touching so many souls all at once, creating something that resonates with millions but is an outlet for himself too. mono is namjoon willingly giving us a piece of his heart to comfort us. he faces his loneliness in a way that’s both admirable and courageous and hopeful and familiar. it’s a nod to everyone who needs reassurance on their darkest days. someone once said listening to mono is as if you’re in a dark room, but namjoon sits quietly beside you. he’s not trying to fix anything, he’s just waiting it out with you. in a way, i think while listening to it, we are both waiting it out with each other. i’m serious when i say many people have expressed how mono has saved them, as have many acknowledged it for what it is: namjoon extending his hand out to us, a gesture of understanding. anyway, i rambled. because indigo is a closing chapter to his twenties, i feel like taking a dive into mono; his early twenties, beforehand will give you that clear understanding of who he was, so you can appreciate more who he’s now become. the shift in his thinking, his feelings. where namjoon’s head was in his earlier twenties. mono will give you that hindsight. however! if you really want to listen to indigo straight away/don’t feel like you have enough time, i’m not sure if anyone has previously suggested this but what about listening to his map of the soul 7 intro: PERSONA. it’s only one track so it’s definitely manageable to digest. though it’s style is very different from mono, i would say it’s still a piece exploring self identity, and namjoon is just as personal with his reflective thoughts as ever. again, sorry for such a long ramble!

a.

hi! You guys should definitely listen to RM’s first mixtape and the mono album before reacting to Indigo. Thank you for your amazing and sincere reactions :)

C. O.

I don't mind this song, though it's not my favorite as I'm not much on anthems, but Fahad has a gorgeous voice. I'm just sad about the copyright issues and problems that have plagued the release of it. FIFA copyright striking HYBE for posting the video of the performance at first, FIFA posting the performance but cutting out at Fahad's part. I heard Fahad got copyright struck for putting up the video as well. Then there are the Billboard charts choosing the wrong video for the streaming count and then not allowing FIFA's channel to count as it's a sports channel. Though this song has grown on me, the entire process behind it has been horrid.

Squiffles

Most definitely a very proud moment for all ARMY. Truly such a legend in own field! Dreamers is such a catchy, inspirational and wholesome song in my opinion 🫶🏼 Anyway, I’m kind of late but I think that listening to Mono would be best before tackling Indigo and then you can come around to the rest of his first mixtape eventually :)

Johana

Love your reaction as always! I am so proud of my ultimate bias for conquering the world! He also wrote the lyrics of this song. Sharing this link https://youtu.be/N6FdsalJA7Q -a fan cam JK-focused. I love this because this shows more of JK's performance, especially his dancing. And, if you are interested here is also a link to JK's live after the show, where he talked a little bit about his performance.

RhadAnne

Here to answer all your questions! 1. I'm rooting for Japan! Looking forward to their match with Spain tomorrow. 2. I believe he plays soccer for fun and he's good at it too! A video capturing him being great with penalty kicks can be found here: https://twitter.com/jjktalents/status/925217146606465024 3. I think the best way to go about it is to react to his title song '들꽃놀이' (Wild Flower) for now when the MV drops tomorrow, The teaser has been released yesterday and I already knew it's going to appear on my top 3 Spotify Wrapped for 2023 :') The entire Indigo album can wait, because it takes a few weeks for Doolset to translate and include nuances and lyrical interpretations for each track. In conclusion: React to '들꽃놀이' (Wild Flower) MV & lyrics first, then loop back around to RM and Mono, then come back to Indigo when translations are ready on Doolset's website. I would like to put an emphasis as a 2013 ARMY to NOT skip out on reacting to RM's 1st mixtape (since I've seen a lot of comments here requesting for Mono reactions only) because the entire albums contains his roots as a hip hop rapper and besides it's in your turf, you'll definitely love it.

AnGie T.

i’m so proud of jk!! 🥺🤍 and i think doing just mono first for now would be good before diving into indigo since it takes a little while for proper translations to come out for new releases anyway. and maybe dive into RM at a later date since jin’s bday is right around the corner as well, i would hate for y’all to overpack your schedules with 3 albums and jin content all at once. or if y’all want to do indigo first that’s fine by me. just do what feels best :)💗

amanda

I'm always in awe of how talented JK is! As a huge football fan, Dreamers is an amazing song for the world cup. Proud of him!

Cor Gequillana

I would encourage you guys to listen to his previous mixtapes first before diving into his new album :)

Joanne Magdalene⁷

I don’t want you to feel rushed about listening to anything. But I’m in favor of supporting BTS’s and the members’ works when they are released. (ie Indigo) Not because you HAVE to. I don’t believe there’s a right way or a wrong way to go about it. But for me it helps forge the shared ARMY experience.

Tonya

So proud of JK. Im routing for Spain theyve been my team since I was a child. Im from NYC and grew up here too. LOL. I think just maybe do one RM solo song. It looks like he said it might be different from his previous work.

Winny Red

So proud of JK 🥺💜

jordyn perry

RM stated that this album is not like the works he did in the past. I think you will be fine if you don't listen to either of his previous works. You do what ever makes you happy. The other albums are not going anywhere. No pressure guys. This is all to be enjoyed at your leisure. Borahae. 💜

PiedPiper613

Someone made a good point also that it takes a bit for quality translations to come in for new songs, so if that is something you want on initial listen there is a benefit to waiting

Gray

I think you should definitely wait and listen to Mono at least first. Indigo will be there for you when you get there. You can always play it through a couple times a day with headphones plugged in but not on if you want to support streaming efforts! And of course buying a physical album. But no need to rush through it just because it’s a new release imo. Y’all are on a once in a lifetime journey not a race :D

Gray

I think you should prioritize listening to Indigo when it drops to support RM, but you two should probably listen to Change before. Both his mixtapes are amazing in different ways and I'm excited for you two to listen to them both when there is time to not rush through. Just do whatever feels right to you!

Courtney Gregg

HUP HOLLAND HUP 🧡

ava

The MV is so good! also I saw a clip of interview with the man who was head of the show. He said He only had this kookie because the other kookies were getting ready for military service. " The Other Kookies!" Cutest thing ever!

Sunny Young

YES! so good to understand this as it is a cultural reference in Korea too. Whales are good guys everywhere it seems!

Sunny Young

Thank you for this reaction. Thinking about how young JK was when he started training,` how unworthy he felt to be main vocal and how far he has come and how much he has achieved whilst remaining humble is why he is my bias. I'm not sure if another army has mentioned, but that was Tina Turner in We Are the World, not Whitney. Since you guys will be busy in December with Jin and V's bday, I'd prefer going straight to Indigo for RM as I will be waiting to hear it for the first time with you guys. I'm also eagerly awaiting more Bon Voyage reactions.

Skylar T⁷

Hi Janiya! Armypedia Talk Show reaction coming later today 😊💜

BTS - Jared & Jordan

100% agree!

Kiki

For me it‘s totally fine if you start with Indigo since it‘s coming out💙 you will be able to still see his growth if you listen to Mono after. And it would be only fair to Hobi 🥰

Kiki

Hey Jared and Jordan, what day are you going to post the armypedia talk show on the army gold teir, just wondering:)

Janiya Smith

Thanks for the great reaction 🙏 I have the song on repeat, it lifts me up and motivates me. I love the middle eastern influences. Football is huuuge here in my country in Western Europe and I know so many non-BTS-fans, who fell in love with JK‘s performance and the song. The live performance is great and I saw many people comparing JK to MJ, you are not the only one. It is even more impressive that JK has songwriting credits for the song. RedOne, a grammy winning producer, has also songwriting credits and produced the song. As for the collaboration, I love that JK used his platform to share his spotlight with a human rights activist, since there are many controversies surrounding this World Cup. JK and Fahad even hugged in the end of the performance (what was cut off from the stream but what we saw in fancams). It seems that they were in contact with each other before the performance. On top of that, a huge korean newspaper and the CEO of katara studios himself, stated that FIFA chose Jungkook personally to perform. Backstage footage will be uploaded from time to time. RedOne said: “Me & FIFA wanted to do something different & not typical & we did something that never happened in history when we chose someone from Asia. And it breaks records. It topped more than 100 countries on iTunes. First World Cup song to do so in history.“ He had nothing but praises for JK and also said “Jungkook was a professional. He was like 'How do you want me to do it? Is this the way to sing this part?'. It was quick, we got it done, it sounded amazing. No edits.“ The whole MV was filmed in Qatar, JK travelled there to film a few weeks prior. Directly after the performance JK was live on weverse to communicate with ARMY. He said that he wasn‘t quite satisfied, because he couldn‘t hear himself through the in-ear. I think he sounded great! In regards to RM: I prefer it, if you listen to Mono first, but you should enjoy RM‘s mixtapes and album to the fullest. He is a deep thinker and intelligent, hence has deep meaningful and complex lyrics. Take your time, no need to rush. But I can totally understand, if you listen to Indigo first to have the full ARMY experience, especially since he is one of your biases. 😀

Amiii

Hi, I am a Qatari army 💜. I want to explain the whole video was filmed in Qatar as well as the song , FIFA collab with KATARA studious . The whale shark is also representing Qatar it is linked to the culture as it is widely found in the Qatar sea as well as the pearls . it represents Qatar as it seems harmful but in fact, it is friendly. Also there is a huge one hanging in Doha QATAR city. 🦈🇶🇦

Wa

It's true that it's better to listen to their albums/mixtapes in order, but I think the mixtape "RM" is on it's own since the style he used for this was more aggressive and raw....he sampled a lot of other hip hop artist's beats as well, so you can say it's a lot more hiphop heavy and his mindset here is a lot different. As for "Mono", this is more mellow and sentimental, a lot of dark undertones and melancholic vibes....he was more honest and introspective on this one, but a lot more mature with his lyrics and metaphors. I am feeling that "Indigo" would be a lot more inclined to be of the same vibe to "Mono" therefore, I suggest if you could react to Mono first and then proceed to Indigo....you can always go back to "RM". This way you will be introduced to a different side of RM with "Mono" other than the RAP MONSTER that you already know and at the same time, you won't be that behind with the whole "Indigo" promotion. I want you guys to experience the excitement that we all feel in real time whenever any of the boys release new music. You don't have to wait just to be "in chronological order", it's always fun to celebrate together :)

Rheyia Pomar

I personally think there is value to listening to BTS and the members discographies in order, first just to see their growth and development and second to understand the references and call-backs they integrate into their lyrics. That being said, I don’t think you NEED to listen to RM’s previous work to appreciate Indigo beyond maybe doing Change before Change, pt. 2! I’d rather you take the time to appreciate and enjoy each mixtape/playlist/album than feel stressed or rushed. Whatever decision you guys make, ARMY will be here to watch and enjoy alongside you! 💜💜💜

suga_mv

I think for indigo would be good for you guys to listen to his mixtapes first and in order cause you can see the growth and how his music changes from RM to mono and, most likely, to indigo. But if its hard to do because of time, pls dont overwork yourselves, do one at a time, starting with the first, maybe. You guys are amazing and i love seeing just how much y'all put into your videos. Thank you for loving the boys and their work so much. Love you guys💜

ene

My vote is for you to go at whatever pace and direction that feels right for you! This is your journey as much as the rest of ours watching you!! I echo what most folks say on here that RM's lyrics and songs are often deep and multi-depth, so rushing through both RM and Mono albums to meet a certain deadline won't do his work justice. Go at your own pace! Most of us, myself included, started to follow BTS journey in a non-chronological order anyways. I visited their older work to appreciate their growth more. The music isn't going anywhere, so don't feel like you need to rush through anything to catch up. It's hard to please everyone and while I really appreciate you both asking and respecting our opinions, remember that this is your journey, and we will support you no matter what! 💜

Pommosaurus

As much as I want y’all to react to everything else first, STREAM INDIGO!!! When you listen to the songs all the way through and like and comment on those videos after watching it helps count towards awards. So please do listen to indigo and stream it when it comes out to help support RM and his many collaborations. Listen to his other 2 mixtapes after. I’m especially eager for you to listen to Change. That one is a favorite of mine 😊

SingingSeaDragon 01

I think its better to listen to his previous works first b4 indigo

alessia

I felt a bit old when I recognized Tina Turner right away and you said "Is it Whitney...?". hehehe

Irina

I do think it’s generally a good idea to listen to their previous albums first before listening to their most recent ones, simply because you get to appreciate their artistic growth and the references they make to previous work in the newer work. Love y’all 💜

Shannon Ryan

My opinion is just jump straight into Indigo, its not going to take away from RMs past works, or your ability to go back and listen to it. Immerse yourselves into who RM is now, and who he's trying to show who he is.

Jamie Stewart

Regarding my Bias release this week. I say GO ALL IN. you did so w Hobipallooza and don't sit in a planet of regret. GO IN. TAKE A LISTEN. (You may wanna listen to Change 1st) Mono and the mixtape can come bits later... 🌌🖤💜💫😏

Amani ○°●•7

Nah you're all good and thank you for being honest. I did get that feeling too with Left and Right. That song didn't do anything for me. Dreamers is a much more meaningful song than LNR. And I'm not a big fan of Charlie too 😩 But I love JK to the core! 💜

J-Lee

Here rooting for Spain from Spain! I hope you cheer for us too LOL

Rachel Mint Suga

Thank you for voicing your concerns on the higher level issues beyond the scene / games / the opening performance itself. Regardless of people’s differences in opinions and stance, it’s important to bring awareness and help unveiling the truth from more angles so people can make intentional decisions. I didn’t see you not listening to this song particularly as an act of pointing fingers at / blaming JK personally. Granted none of us really know how much of this was company-business decision vs personal agreement. But one thing is certain is that no matter what job it is, JK will always put out his best performance for his fans. And at the end of the day, we all love BTS for their stance on spreading love and equality especially when they are on their own platform 💜

Ushi

Agree 💯 This isn't some BU stuff that needs watching in order to be able to understand things.

J-Lee

Hi! I really think you should listen to at least Mono first, if not RM, before listening to Indigo. Just by looking at the tracklist of Indigo, we can see similar themes that he may be touching upon. You'll get the full experience of Kim Namjoon's artistry if you go chronologically.

Tavleen Kaur

No offense to your comment, but Jared and Jordan are ARMY too. Jordan's bias is RM even. So they DON'T NEED to wait until 'army' has heard Indigo.

J-Lee

Hi! Thanks for replying, it's really cool that we can have a discussion about this and I do get your point! Totally fair and valid. And I don't say others should share my opinion I am simply not capable of enjoying this song myself unfortunately :// it just leaves a bad taste, I can't help it. That's all I wanted to add, I still respect Jungkook of course and I support BTS until the end, borahae 💜💜💜

Daphne

Sorry, I don’t usually comment here but I just can’t stay silent on this. I truly understand that everyone has opinions but pinning this all on JK and putting the blame on him is, quite frankly, utterly ridiculous. Obviously, FIFA and the WC has had many issues even in the past but all of a sudden, everyone is a human rights activist because Qatar is hosting the WC and Jungkook is performing? Because where were all this outcry when FIFA hosted in Russia in 2018. Brazil in 2014. Germany in 2006, so on and so forth. Him performing does not mean he is supporting the country’s and FIFA’s issues. It is very unfair to blame him when he was just chosen to do his job as a musician. Dua Lipa, Shakira, all the football players who little kids look up to especially, all the politicians attending, but sure let's blame only Jungkook's participation. Not like Dua Lipa (who voiced out they’re not performing in Qatar) performed and held a concert in Israel, one of the major violators of human rights and slaughters children daily in Gaza and Palestine. My point is: if BTS members stopped performing in countries where there are major violations of human rights, they wouldn’t be performing ANYWHERE at all. Don’t act like every country is clean. Let’s not all be hypocrites here. 💜

sushi

Hi, guys thanks for the reaction as always! I am sorry but I'm not gonna listen to this one. What FIFA has been doing in Quatar is disgusting and I hope you can read up as to what has happened there, is happening there and how it will affect people in the future once the whole game is over. I know you're not from Europe and probably don't care for soccer (sorry again as I didn't watch the video), but as someone who has been following this whole mess, I am not a fan of Jungkooks desicion of doing this song. The message in itself is beautiful and fits bts beautiful souls, don't get me wrong. But I cannot for the life of me support this song supporting FIFA in a way. And please don't take this as criticism towards yourselves and if you enjoy the song, that is totally fine and I'm genuinely happy for you. Also I hope I don't ruin it for you by writing this ... the reason I am doing it is, that I don't see many comments on Youtube or elsewhere talking about the issues in Quatar. I love Jungkook, I love BTS but I cannot support human rights violations. I hope you understand, and sorry for the very long and negative comment. I purple you 💜💜💜💜

Daphne

Thank you for another great reaction, JK's live performance was amazing! And I feel like it would be best to prioritise mono before listening to Indigo, you could loop back around to "RM" at a later date 💜

And

If you do react to MONO, please also react to HOPE WORLD.

Eternity 7

Soooooo much to say about this video :D So, first of all...IT's a whale shark :D And that whale shark belongs to the family of sharks, not whales. As for JK's performance... I wouldn't be surprised if the collaboration with Fahad was his idea. There was so much controversy around this world cup, I love that JK used his platform to share his spotlight with a human rights activist. And, what was cut off from the stream but what we saw in fancams, was that the two of them hugged after the performance too, so I guess they did talk to each other from time to time. The MV was filmed in Qatar, JK travelled there for that before. And after the Opening show, he went live on weverse for a bit and talked about his performance there. It's really interesting to see him just chill there after performing at the world cup for millions of people... You're also not the only ones. There's actually a lot of non-ARMYs who also got MJ vibes from JK here. He just absolutely killed it. Sadly there's no Spotify version with Fahad's part in it though... And Indigo.... Of course it would be great if you could listen to both his first and second mixtape before mono. Joon's big brain might reference a lot. But if you want to get to Indigo faster, while I absolutely LOVE mono, I would prioritise his first mixtape in this context. There is a track in Indigo called "Still Life", and it might be a part 2 of "Life" from his first mixtape, so like Change and Change pt 2, if they are connected, it makes sense to listen to Life first.

Hana

I'm going to get beat up for saying this, but, So far this is probably my least fav BTS song. The chorus is nice, but it left me feeling ,meh. Not enough of a banger for a energy boost. JK was great, the crowd seemed to like it and perhaps the culture held him back a little, I didn't hate it, but it's one of the only BTS songs not on my playlist. Sorry . It really didn't do that much for me and I LOVE BTS. Silver ARMY. I'm happy to see so many people do like it, as I'm always cheering BTS on, fighting!

Sunny Young

Exceedingly proud of JK for doing the World Cup anthem with Fahad. 💜 And I kept laughing at the dialogue about whether it's a whale or a shark since it's a whale shark. 🤣 And my vote is for doing it chronologically still. RM > Mono > Indigo.

Karla24.wintaebear

I agree with this one being an anthem. I need to hear it at least one time a day to get a boost of energy. JK did so well, so proud of him. I love watching the fancams to see the whole choreography, here are two nice videos with other focus + lyrics https://youtu.be/Cl82sBgwZjY https://youtu.be/NOlh4Ja17Jk

PamTan

Hi guys. I have another dilemma for you. On INDIGO is a track called "Change pt.2" could you please first check pt.1 "Change " with Wale and RM's collab with Fall Out Boy "Champion " It's really underrated song and it works with thema Championships 😉I don't know if this makes any sense but I want you guys to see it so I trying my best to convince you 😀 I think you will love this song...

Magdalena

Please react to MONO first then INDIGO and after you can react to RM 💜 MONO deserves so much love, it's a Masterpiece. It's truly a gift and it has healing powers.

Roni

TW Tryptophobia btw everyone!!! The music video is inundated with it!

Members of QHC

I always root for Mexico for the World Cup and who knows maybe we’ll be knocked out by tomorrows game against Saudi Arabia but fingers crossed we aren’t lmao The World Cup is a big thing in my household so I’ve been watching a lot of games too and hearing Dreamers in the background before games start has been surreal definitely so proud of jk As for Indigo I think you guys should react to mono first and then whenever you guys have time go back to RM no need to cram everything in lol hope you guys enjoy it :)

Fernanda

Well I avoid looking into other comments before I write this so I won't get influenced by what most think ahehe 😅 For me, it's totally fine that you go into INDIGO SOON! Album sales, streaming records, etc are important and critical for the first weeks, not only for the charts (coz a lot would say it's not important 🙄), but having a great impact as soon as the album comes out is VERY IMPORTANT. It's an APPRECIATION of RM's hardwork. It's how we repay them. We know he waited so long for this, and the best we could do is support it AS SOON AS IT DROPS. If you wait until you go thru everything and the past mixtapes, then you'll miss an essential period of time 😔 You guys and most ARMY reactors, are also an important part of the chain - you help the songs and albums by hyping them up, and spreading them to a lot of people who are not ARMY. So please, if you still can, yes you can check out MONO but get to INDIGO as soon as you can. As you've said, it's not what you did with Hobi anyways. When I got to BTS, I didn't start from the start too. I didn't go in order a lot of times. But I still got that surprised and amazed factor EVERY TIME. It's nice to go back sometimes when you know where they've been already. 🥹🤧 So yeah, hopefully this opinion helps. But whatever you guys decide to do, we'll be here supporting. Love you both my FAVE brothers!! Borahaeeee 💜💜💜

J-Lee

Ahhh I always get goosebumps whenever I see JK's Dreamers! 😩🥹🤧 I am so so very very proud of him! 💜 And having Fahad in the song with him adds to the perfection! I love that he sang in their language too. BTS has always proved that language isn't a barrier to get people around the world united. 🥰 Thank you my FAVE brothers for reacting to this 🙏 It's totally fine not to dig into the lyrics too much, most of it is in English anyways and we all got the message loud and clear thru JK's voice and performance 🥰💜 I hope someday you could also get to react to Yet To Come, HYUNDAI version - this has the same vibe as Dreamers coz they made the "Goal of the Century" version for the World cup. The video gives me chills as well 💜 Thank you again for a wonderful reaction. Borahae 💜

J-Lee

I didn't SEE THE TITLE UNTIL NOW OH MY GOD IM LATE Honestly I think itd be best if you wait until ARMY has heard Indigo then we can currate the best experience for you! Who knows if the first or second or both albums are even relevant, ya know? Hope World was only somewhat for Jack in the Box

Here is the comment I left on the YouTube video just to make it a little easier for you boys just in case you do want to see the videos and react to them: Hello boys. Loved your reaction. You seem to always mention Michael Jackson. Since you mentioned him again on the "Dynamite" performance, I am pretty sure you would love to know that they actually did a MJ breakdance on their MMA 2020 "Dynamite" performance. Just in case you wanted to see it, I have provided the link below. Since it was still during Covid, the performance was prerecorded for the award show. I am also including a link to their whole MMA 2020 performance just in case you were interested in all the songs they performed that night. They perform Blaw Swan, ON, Life Goes On, and Dynamite. I highly suggest it. Here are the links. Enjoy boys: MMA 2020 Dynamite performance - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ves2rzVyRvA Whole MMA 2020 performance - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtaP4UkZKyc

Rheichel Tormis

I loved his performance and the song. The other language also sounds so beautiful. I don’t understand what Fahad is singing but it just sounds so beautiful. I am so proud of JK. The song is a perfect anthem too. As far as the question of RM. It would probably be good to listen to Mono first but do what feels good to you both. I just enjoy watching your BTS journey….where ever it takes you. 🙂 Once again you mentioned MJ. I am not sure if you saw the comment I left on your YouTube “INSANE!! BTS Cypher Pt. 3 Live performance! (+Dynamite & For Youth)” video. I would love to see you react to those videos that I included the links for. I promise…..you both will absolutely love the MJ breakdown dance included in their performance. Have a good rest of you week boys.

Rheichel Tormis

We've never seen the boys play soccer, but they have a game they call "foot volleyball" which has ball handling rules like soccer, but they kick it over a tennis net. They've also been seen trying to keep a soccer ball in the air for a certain length of time. All of which implies that, yes, they have all played soccer at some point but we've never actually seen them play. Each mix tape shows RM's growth and evolution through the years, so it is important to listen both of his current mix tapes, but I personally think it's more important to listen to Mono, since that was the last mix tape he released. You'll be able to see where he was when that was released compared to where he is now. This opportunity came about for JK because FIFA actually reached out to him and asked him to give them a song. How Fahad became involved and how the song became a mixture of English and Arabic, I haven't heard. The "whales" are actually sharks. They're called whale sharks precisely because of the similarities that they have with whales. Sharks have vertical tails that move side to side. Real whales have flat, horizontal tails that move up and down. You can't really go by the teeth because there are toothed whales and whale sharks have baleen and are filter feeders, just like baleen whales. There is a large group of whale sharks near Qatar that tourists can go visit, so the sharks represent Qatar.

Jessica McGuire

We are all proud of Jungkook, he always follows his heart, which I really admire. The other members were so proud of him too and their reactions were great to hear and see. I always think in order for change to happen you need to shine your light on it and never avoid or try and hide it, if you do you become part of the problem 💜

My Purple Light ⁷

do both mixtapes before. you can do like you did the cyphers. id watch it! please!

crystine dills

It's just hypocrisy, because the US is no better but we don't see anyone boycotting them.

dulseokbangtan

I would definitely recommend doing mono 1st. And the indigo. Enjoy and have fun listening to my bias works.

Chhuon Seemuong

I know JK has gotten some hate and disapproval for agreeing to perform. The Qatari singer Fahad is a human rights activist in his own country, and who better than a member of BTS, a group who preached love and equality, to join him singing for love and respect? What else can they do really, single handedly solve all of world's problems? For example the LGBT rights and human equality in my own country isn't the best either. But it doesn't mean the majority of the citizens (especially the younger generation) thinks the same. If someone like BTS comes to remind us we're all heard and seen and loved, of course it's a good thing. We're not asking them to reform our country as saviors, just to be there for us. They do things for the people, not for the kings and queens. I feel like people easily boycotting a SONG of hope just because of the country it's performed in, have never actually been in countries like that and seen the people living in it.

Kaz

And a few more thoughts: JK has always reminded me strongly of MJ but I think BTS as a whole is MJ reborn and split into 7 souls. Second, that wasn't Whitney but Tina Turner - a fantastic singer and human powerhouse. Lastly JK mentioned he was more nervous about meeting the Korean football team in person than his own performance 😁 He has a deep respect.

Heartflower

As many have commented already, there is no need to rush through RM's works, they are not going anywhere, however if you feel you just have to react to Indigo related content, maybe you should react to the lead single which has the English translated title "wildflower", there is most likely going to be tons of related content coming out over the next few weeks so maybe it might be better to wait and react to multiple pieces of content at once. because I'm pretty sure both of you are going to want to react to the footage of RM's private concert he's holding in Korea, I do also agree with the majority you all should listen to Mono first and then Indigo.

rae black

pls, react to mono before Indigo. I am eagerly waiting for your reaction...

Koya7

I love Bicycle! 💜

DinaArmyMom

German Army here but I'm also watching Australian and Korean matches. I love the world cup and I loved this moment for JK so much as he's my bias 💜

Heartflower

I agree with everyone saying that there is absolutely no need to rush through anything. We have plenty of time to give every song/ album its own space and attention. Please don't feel like you have to rush to do anything - we're not going anywhere! 💜

Tiffany1013

Hey guys! First of all Jared, not sure how you’re able to watch all the World Cup games AND, doing all these BTS reaction videos lol. Anyway, You guys should check out highlights of Brazil Vs Serbia at the World Cup. There’s a Brazilian player, Richarlson that scored a nasty semi bicycle kick! https://youtu.be/j0s8GFVTwGc Brazil won the most World Cups and their style of play is likened to samba dancing. I’m not Brazilian, but I love soccer and they are fun to watch. The World Cup is so fun and seeing all the fans getting into it, dressing up, chanting etc. France, Spain, Brazil play very nice soccer, but I’d love to see an underdog win it. That would be beautiful. Lastly, Whalien 52, would be a great song for you to check out ;) I think you’d love the beat, singing, rapping. It’s very much a r&b/hip hop type track. Maybe just use one of your reactions to react to a handful of B side tracks lol. Deep dive later, just enjoy it! (At your convenience of course :) )

Selina T

I think you guys should do Joons first mixtape (RM) before jumping into Indigo, just to get a feel of the older works and how far he's come. I dont know if JK has played soccer before, he's never mentioned it or if he has I've never come across that (correct me if I'm wrong, ARMY). The only member who explicitly stated having any previous experience with soccer is Jimin, who I think mentioned playing soccer in high school.

Aparna

I'm rooting for senegal and saudi arabia, tbh all the muslim countries. It would be very great if a Muslim country leads this wc. For the RM dillema, I would say react to mono first then Indigo. Since there is a restriction in time you can react to it the same way yall did with hobi's jack in the box. Also wish me luck I have my drivers license test today 🤞. Wish you the best in everything Jared and Jordan 💜

ZER0Z0E

and guys wow, a lot is happening in December (Indigo, Hobi's performance on MAMAs, Jin's birthday, Tae's birthday and Christmas) I hope you're prepared!!

lou marquez

I don’t know if this will help your RM dilemma, but remember what you went through with the Cyphers. I don’t know if you two will be able to handle our lyrical genius like that. I feel that you have heard enough of RM both some of his solo songs and what he has done with BTS to have a feel for who he is. I think you can dive into Indigo and listen to his other content later, just my opinion. As far as JK goes, he did a WE LIVE right after his performance that I feel you guys need to check out. As usual Jared and Jordan, I really enjoy your videos. Try not to work too hard. There’s a lot of content. As you can see, it will not slow down during their military leave. Remember, slow and steady wins the race!!!

Precious Lafleur

I really think you should react to Mono first! You've already got a taste of RM, the hard/dark rap vibe, and a bit of anger towards haters. In Mono everything changes, we see a completely different side of Nam

lou marquez

I recommend doing Mono, then Indigo and come back to RM later. Whichever way you choose we will still enjoy it

Daniela

From what I’ve read, FIFA and RedOne (the producer contacted BigHit specifically asking for JK. JK is credited as a writer but I’m not sure which part he wrote. That was a whale shark, almost extinct in Qatar. There are armies that noticed that there were six whale sharks and six boats and many thought they represented the other members. In We Are The World, the singer was Tina Turner. I remember the song well! There were so many comments about JK resembling MJ! As for RM, I would also recommend Mono before Indigo. BigHit released some of RM’s SoundCloud songs on Spotify and Apple Music. Mono was already available on AM, but I’m so happy to have Bicycle in my AM playlist! There is a playlist created by an Army that showcases all the collaborators! I’m so excited for Erika Badu, Tablo, and Park Ji Yoon. You should check out JK and Jimin dance to Coming of Age Ceremony sung by Park Ji Yoon. Mono is such a comfort for me. His mixtape RM hasn’t been released I understand because he uses so many samples that they have not gotten permission from the Artist or perhaps they refused. Indigo will require deep dive… you know the lyrics are going to be incredible! Have fun! Thank you!

Yukari

Indigo is going to be the mindset and the painted story of challenges Namjoon has experienced since the mixed tapes and Mono. I think to understand the man we need to review the past music before Indigo. From what I am understanding about Indigo - the color(s) stand for wisdom and intuition. (One is not born with these qualities but is colored through life experiences.) He has many questions, and fears, and is emotional about future uncertainties. Namjoon knows who RM is but after all the success of being RM he is questioning who Namjoon is in all of this, what he calls "undeserved love" from ARMY. Questioning, will I be loved just for being the guy who ties his shoes like everyone else? In his real life, he wants to be accepted for just being Kim Namjoon, a citizen of South Korea, a son, a friend, a musician, a rapper, and a man who loves his work. This guy is so vulnerable before people in sharing his story through colorful lyrics. He is transparent, and I can relate to this style of art and take it to heart. So, I think Namjoon's love of art and the eclectic artists collaborating on Indigo will reflect his story of the struggles he has and may still be facing. (Most of the artists on the album are older than him... which speaks volumes.) Possibly Indigo is a painting or piece of artwork of this man incomplete. (The best is yet to come.) His gift of lyrical poetry through song and rapping will be on display and we will see a colorful picture of KIM NAMJOON. Can you relate?

Daphne Schaffer

My thoughts… to see the evolution of RM and the rawness of his emotions, I’d listen to his mix tape, Mono, then Indigo… but you guys do you, I’ll be happy whichever way you go. I can’t wait to listen to Indigo, this phase of RM’s creative ability, raw emotions and talent. I have to admit Mono always makes me sad, especially “seoul” bc every time I listen to this song I miss my baby girl (not so baby, she’s 23), but she’s been living her best life in Seoul for the past year.

Skyblue00

Mono then indigo!

Stephy13

i agree with the comments saying that namjoon's work asks for you to sit with it and take time to understand it, so please go with whatever option makes you guys the least stressed/the most excited. while it's always fun to be up to date there is no true *need* to get to indigo immediately upon it's release. but if that is important to you guys (i get it, FOMO - fear of missing out - does that to me), then there's also no real *need* to get to his earlier work first, either. you guys are intelligent, and can definitely still appreciate his growth no matter the order you react to them. ideally i would have agreed with the comments choosing mono first, but in the grand scheme of things all three options will arrive at the same result. :) i don't think there is a wrong choice. just as long as you take your time with his music, the way i think namjoon would have intended it, and the way you guys have been doing thus far. 💜💜

uchenna

I hope you guys can at least fit Mono in before Indigo

DanielleM

my recommendation is that you listen to Change first then Indigo. Mono is a special album that I want you to enjoy without feeling rushed. For the past two years Jin has gifted us with a new song on his birthday, this year we get a whole album just 2 days before to enjoy. ARMY is loved and spoiled

Vicki M

Mono is a must !

Amina

Hello! Love your reactions, as always! In answer to your inquiry, I suggest listening to change with wale first and then just go into Indigo when it releases 😁 hope this helps! You guys are great. Just do what you want!

Da Lantis

My teams are USA🇺🇲 and Mexico 🇲🇽 futboI is life. I Would also agree with most comments start with Mono --> Indigo then loop back to RM.

Ylda Rodarte

was looking for someone to have said 'tina turner' so i didn't have to

T HT

My honest opinion, it doesn't matter to me if it's in order or not. However I believe the plan was to listen to his previous two albums prior to Indigo's release. However other things pushed that plan out of the timeline, such as this reaction to JKs performance. That's the part that's somewhat disappointing. Sometimes we have to stay our original course even though the fandom is pushing for other things. Because you can't please everyone. When there's an original plan, try and stay the course. Love you both and the amount off work that you put in to bring us these reactions. 💜💜

DinaArmyMom

My recommendation is whatever path that won't make you feel rushed and stressed. Out of all the members, I think RM's work requires the most time to just sit with it and understand it, and I'd hate for you to blast through his work to try to meet a deadline.

TI

Definitely listening to RM & Mono first before Indigo is the way to go. And no rush by the way.

Nanon ApoBangpo⁷

Thanks for this reaction guys!!! It's such a beautiful song and I feel it's very uplifting. I was so proud of JK repping South Korea, BTS and ARMY!! As for RM and Mono, I wouldn't want you to rush cuz there's some deep songs and they deserve the attention whether you react or just listen to them. I recommend going into Indigo as a fresh start. Yes those were whales 🐋 you will see along the way that whales have a special meaning to us which can be explained on Whalien 52. P.S. guys if you would've watched Lion King you would hear the familiarity of Dreamers lol 💜💜

LizP⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷

I suggest listening to older works before jumping into indigo

BtsOT79798

We are so ridiculously proud of JK he rocked this perfectly.

Maria Chavez

in my opinion i think you need to take your time and not push yourself to listen to the music, listening to them in order is always the best way to understand more the songs and the meaning behind them, so dont push yourself on listening to everything fast. do what you think is the best for you!

olivia

So, I don't understand what the rush is all of a sudden for RM's solo music. I'm all for listening to his music in the order it was released, but definitely just do it all at a pace that works for you. It doesn't have to be done before Indigo is out, and Indigo doesn't have to be listened to immediately on release either. The music isn't going anywhere and will still be there whenever you decide to react to it. The only music reactions I feel you should try to get out by a certain date, are the ones for the members' birthdays. Everything else can be reacted to whenever you choose to do it. So yeah, my vote is listen to his music in order of release date (without skipping around), AND at your own pace. Don't feel obligated to get any of it out by a certain date. There's no reason to, that I'm aware of. If I'm wrong, let me know.

Serah Myst

In the video, it's a whale shark, which is an emblem for Qatar.

KT Redmane

Both! RM & Mono 🥹🤩

Nanjareth

So excited for Indigo, looking forward to your reaction! I don't think you need to listen to his earlier mixtapes beforehand. You'll eventually get to them, no need to do them in order. That being said, if you wanted to listen to one my vote would be for Mono. Also, Change is so good! It was the first solo song I listened to from any of the members and years later it's still in my favourites playlist. As far as the mixtapes go, no pressure, do what feels right and what works the best with you schedule.

Christina

didn´t you react to Jin astronaut? he also performed that on coldplay´s concert alone Infront of 60k people and J-hope has also done lollapaluza so until now every member has had a debut on a large scale. so what festival in the us has so many people in dec or january? since many of his song might be in english it would make sense to promote there

leat

I cannot help but get goosebumps every time I see these performances. I love the sounds of the male chorus--they also reminded me of African choirs I have heard--those deep voices give "bottom" to the song. On a side note--the fish are whale sharks! Enjoying your journey down the rabbit hole!

LibLady26

This was absolutely 💯 amazing. Love your reactions. He also did a live afterwards.

lyndsey

I think if you have time it would be nice for you guys to hear Mono before Indigo but I don't think it's a big deal if you don't get to it. I say do what you can. Do Indigo for sure when it's released so we can all go on the Indigo journey together. 💜💜

Veronica⁷

Like both RM and Mono and you should take the time necessary to react to both of them thoroughly, which is how you do it. Don't try to rush - do them and his new album carefully and whatever order you decide.

KT Redmane

it´s a whale shark Qatar has the largest population of them that´s why they used that animal i think there might me other reason for it

leat

RM first mix tape I like for the aggression he had alot to get off his chest and mono is more easy listen to music. I guess it depends on what you prefer. I know you heard monster already off of his first it is more of that style which i love. Moonchild probably my favorite off of Mono. Most will probably say listen to mono first but I think first mix tape then mono shows his change. Just because his new Album drops does not mean you have to react right away there is plenty to catch up on.

April Forgue

I agree with a lot of this. Namjoon has warned both during the Festa dinner this year and in his livestreams since then that his upcoming solo project is not going to be anything like mono. He also suggested that it would be a mix of mutiple genres. So be prepared to get surprised lol Each of RMs projects were a diary of his life, struggles, and emotions at the time they were made. An 'rkive' - archive; pun intended. - RM (2013-2015) - mono (2016-2018) - Indigo (2019-2022) Given that it will take time for translators like doolset, mishu, colin, etc to dive into the tracks to give us a better understanding before sharing with us - I think Jared & Jordan would have the time to digest RMs other projects (+ Change ft. WALE). RM is also doing a a whole interview with Zach Sang, going song by song. So that'll be some behind the scenes content J&J would be able to check out too. I'll also note - Namjoon (and yoongi as Agust D) often litter their lyrics with callbacks to previous work. You'll definitely miss out on these references and meanings if you jump into Indigo first.

Ellie

Maybe just one song from Mono? or Bicycle? Then dive into Indigo. There's no need for you to feel crunched for time; the point is to enjoy and share that enjoyment with us. You've heard a few of RM's early raps, from his birthday week. But I think you haven't heard any of the other side of him, which Mono represents. I have a feeling that'll set you up for Indigo--which he keeps describing as "tranquil".

Lisa W

listen to indigo first because that will bring you more views i recommend you post some on YT too. because it´s new and everyone want to watch that. and also because we can´t wait hehe you can always go back to the other mixtapes and see how much he has grown later

leat

So proud of our kookie 🥺💜

Pati Cruz

I agree with ARMY- Mono is such a beautiful album, if I had to be honest, it is probably one of my favorite albums of all times 💜 I just love Rm's poetry and the way he carries himself through out his music. I would listen to ‘Mono’ before diving into ‘Indigo’…and then loop back around to ’RM’ at a later date. I would also listen to his song "Bicycle". It's a recent song he took out on June 6th 2021 as part as BTS FESTA. I relate to that song so much. When I first moved to Chicago by myself 7 years ago I didn't know how to drive & my preferred way of transportation was the city bikes. Even if it took me hours to get to my destination, I simply enjoyed it so much especially at night when it was just me and the road- no cars- no open bars. Therefore "Bicycle" will always be a special song to me. I can't wait to hear what you guys think about them all! I love you guy's videos and just how you guys enjoy all kinds of music. From Chicago- BORAHAE 💜

Pati Cruz

Please check out his weverse live right after the performance. I also suggest to listen to Mono before Indigo. ☺️

Suvi

When Japan and Germany were against each other, I was rooting for Japan and my other siblings were for Germany. It was so good to see Japan win. South Korea also has a good team and I cheered loudly when they were playing. My fiance asked me if I was rooting for the USA as I am American and, I'm sorry, while I don't follow their team as vividly, I have the opinion that we are not as strong as other countries.

Neha Neeraj

Agree 💯 but they did get the Titanic reference which was a surprise. Rose could have made room for Jack on the door lol 😂

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

Love this song! It really is wholesome. Besides cricket, my family loves football (what Americans call soccer). In terms of team, I would go with Spain or Argentina...I would go with option #1 which is listen to both RM and Mono before Indigo.

Neha Neeraj

As soon as they said Whitney, I thought there’s those rocks 🪨 again 😂😂

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

Hey guys you should definitely react to mono first, then come back to rm. Here is a link to the full mixtape with subs. https://youtu.be/hUb1_zjRSYs

Katherine Cordero

P.S. definitely check out the lyrics when you have a chance!! Here's a translation of Fahad's verse: https://twitter.com/prplkoo/status/1594359739609137153?t=Dt3GPUJrq-BAGSV42lhKzw&s=19 And here's a twitter thread about the meaning/history behind the chants vocals heard in the background of the song. https://twitter.com/jiminieepaws/status/1594317089199661058?t=mpJIJGM-OVg83Bcin5H18g&s=19

Ellie

i agree with option 1 i think it may be important to react to both RM and MONO before INDIGO since rm calls this his story of his 20s which is probably a continuation of rm and mono since he started writing it after mono over the span of 4 years.

tori

I'm so proud of Jungkook that I cried watching his FIFA performance 😭 The MV was filmed entirely in Doha, Qatar and jungkook was treated like a prince the entire time! For RM's dilemma I say listen to Change ft. wale first, then listen to mono and then Indigo. If it takes 2-3 weeks to do that so be it because it will be worth it. I don't want you guys to rush listening to mono because it's a healing mixtape and has to listen to in order of the tracklist. When you listen to mono afterwards there is a bangtan bomb I believe of RM behind the scenes posting the mixtape on SoundCloud and he talks about how nervous he is, it was a very real moment for him to put something so personal out there in public but he did it and it healed so many people.

Alishea

I think most of your questions have been answered and I agree on the general opinion about mono but would definitely not mind to see your reactions on all the rest as well 😄. I'm living in Norway but am born and raised in the Netherlands so it should not be too hard to guess who I'm cheering for in the world cup (eventhough I'm not that impressed so far). It's going to be very very busy the coming period with content as mentioned before. I'm personally also very much looking forward to Suchwita.

Marsha

I have also not heard RM yet tbh so it will be a nice experience listening to it with you both whenever you decide to get to it. As for mono, I absolutely love that album. Its a timeless beautiful piece that I come back to for healing. I would really like you guys to listen to it before you jump to Indigo but no pressure its not a mandatory prerequisite just a nice to have.

LOL

It's actually a whale shark! 😍 The name derives from their massive size (reaching the magnitude of some whale species) and is the largest existing fish known to the best of our knowledge. In addition, their diet consists of filter feeding on plankton, similar in fashion to humpback and baleen whales. Despite these characteristics, whale sharks are in fact sharks. When in doubt - you can observe their tail fins/flukes. Fish move their tail fin side-to-side, while marine mammals (e.g. whales, dolphins, porpoises, manatees, dugongs, etc) move theirs up-and-down. It's a tip I learned from one of my professors when I used to scribe dolphin focal follows as part of my work study. Whale sharks may seem intimidating, but they are actually very gentle creatures. The only time I've ever seen one in my life was at the famous aquarium located in Atlanta, GA during a super long layover. I'd love to see them in the wild though. Fun Fact: Qatar is home to one of the largest concentration of whale sharks in the world. I love how the included them in the MV. The MV also references Qatar's past as sea traders and pearl divers. We can actually see one of the kids holding a pearl towards the beginning of the MV - naturally grown pearls are irregular in shape vs. the typically spherical ones you may see in jewelry which are cultured with human intervention. The pearl then attaches to the whale shark, mimicing the white spotted pattern that whale sharks have. Dreamers is a true World Cup anthem. I'm so proud of JK taking on such a feat (must be little scary to not have the members there in person - but the others posted on SNS of themselves watching JK perform in real-time). JK also traveled to Qatar the month before to film the MV. The music videos is just so stunning and Fahad's vocals really elevate the song. The music just fills me with so much hope and glee...I was totally dancing and singing along by the second chorus the first time I listened to it. JK did a 20-minute livestream after the performance to chat with us. You guys could ways check that out. He talks a little about learning the choreo while including his own flare, as well as how he was having issues with his in-ears. Hope we'll get to see more content regarding the the making of the MV and song. Would love more behind the scenes. Ohh and I can't remember which article I read it in, but apparently FIFA specifically saught out Jungkook in particular to work on the song by contacting their BigHit/HYBE label (BTS also released a remix of Yet To Come as Hyundai ambassadors for the World Cup). Anyway....I'm rambling now. Sorry! Lots of love from your portuguese marine biology major. 🦭

Ellie

Sorry, fellas, that was Tina not Whitney. I agree with the rest about RM...Change probably a good idea, as well as, Mono and Bicycle. Imma go call Tyrone :)))) Have a great weekend!

DJ

I am a 23 year old Ghanian Lady living in the UK but I love South Korea so much that I'm making progress in my learning and also planning to go live there for a while. The match between Ghana and South Korea was a tough one for me. I cheered loudly for South Korea while receiving piercing stares from family.

Princilla

I agree with everyone here but maybe even for times sake, listen to a couple of songs from Mono just to get a feel of his different styles. I suggest my two favourites: Seoul and Moonchild! Also Change is amazinggg FUNFACT Yoongi also gonna have his own drinking show lol. Just found out. While Jin was more of a making alcohol and getting people to taste kind of show, the teaser for Suga’s show says he will be having different guests to drink and talk( first one is RM) 😂 Can’t wait for it to come out!

Maya001

Off topic but we’re eventually going to get Jared and Jordan bloopers, right? If it’s a planned Christmas present then I guess that’s a pretty good present.

Joy Jenkins

Also, I would recommend listening to "Bicycle" which came out in 2021. I believe it is his latest solo release after MONO and I think it would be nice to end with a positive song he released after. He revealed later that he found some side hobbies that make him happy and has said biking is one of his most loved hobbies.

kdeMC

Actually the one who plays football and you saw it on his video, was Jimin xD, but who knows. This is first time JK has a solo performance, the other is always on BTS concerts. Thanks for another great reaction, i can't stop listening this song!

teresa

I watched the Canadian games from Spain. Considering we haven’t qualified to be in the tournament for years and years, I was just glad we didn’t get blown out of the water score wise….lol. Is your surgery tomorrow? I tested positive for Covid last night so I am holed up in my AirBnB for a while.

Laurie Brennan⁷

My mom said the same thing! "We are the world" similarities. The first female singing in that video was actually Tina Turner. Reminds me of Black or White too with the folk/traditional dances shown. I'd like to see behind the scenes too and it's my understanding JK went to Qatar to shoot much of the footage for the MV. A feel good Music Video!

Jess Horton

I have to agree with the rest of ARMY :)) Mono and then Indigo! Mono is a playlist of RM’s thoughts during his younger years and Indigo is the story of his 20s. Also the song “Change” by RM and Wale. We believe the pt. 2 to that song will be on Indigo.

alondra ortiz

I also agree Mono -> Indigo -> RM

Cindy Zapawa

Re: RM, definitely listen to mono first as well as his collab with Wale, Change. You've already got a glimpse of his first mixtape and mono is the best representation of who he has been more recently, since it was released in 2018!

soyaspinsxxx

Being from Brazil, where soccer is a big deal, and watching the world cup since a little kid, it was so emotional for me to sit with the family and watch jungkook singing the official song for this year at the opening ceremony, I can't put into words. And I agree that it will be great if you guys react to change, mono and then indigo. 💜

Thaís Cardozo

I don’t even know how to advise you guys to proceed. We have RMs album, Hobi performing at MAMA, Jin’s birthday, Christmas and Vs birthday all in the next month or so. I think you just have to give up sleeping and stream around the clock. I promise you HYBE will have a ton of archived material to get us through their military time. They would never risk BTS being out of our minds for any length of time (as if that could ever happen). That Whitney was Tina Turner. I remember collecting all those fundraising songs that came out that year to help Africa (America, Canada and UK each did one). I still listen to them on occasion….they are the musical artists of my youth (aging myself). This song gave me “Lion King” vibes…which you may or may not have seen given your lack of viewing animated kids movies…lol. I however have seen it more than 10 million times when my kids were young. Thanks for the reaction…rest up!

Laurie Brennan⁷

With RM’s mixtapes. It so hard to decide. They’re two completely different vibes. It’s ike they’re pilot opposite. I love Hip Hop so RM is one mixtape I always circle around to. Mono, on the other hand, was so refreshing and surprising. This new album might be a balance of both . If we’re on church time, maybe just Mono and the then come back to the first mixtape.

Maka Mars

id suggest listening to change with wale and then Mono first and then go into Indigo. RM mixtape has some diss tracks and that particular mixtape is basically him responding to his haters. Mono is like a warm hug and shows growth and a lot of the songs from Mono are going to be connected to Indigo from what we’ve learned so far. Change pt 2 is also in Indigo so i’d suggest listening to Change with wale and rm as well. But most definitely check out Mono 100%.

Ellie Rae

Agree with MONO then Indigo if you’re in a time crunch. THANK YOU and Good-luck! 💜💜💜

Eli Min

Regarding RM– I'd say just listen to mono and loop back to RM later! Or perhaps at least listen to *some* tracks off mono (maybe conduct a poll?) to get a feel, then go to Indigo. Mono is more of a representation of "recent" RM than "RM" is.

Seneca

Would listen to Change by RM & Wale then Mono then Indigo like most have said RM is a great listen but it has a few diss tracks and RM was a lot younger. There is Change part 2 on the new album so thats why you should listen to the first one. JK is a remarkable performer and I know people have issue but every country has issue if we take everything into account we would live in our own bubbles but coming out and spreading love and hope must be the way forward, JK showed the love and hope with that embrace just as BTS have done. ALSO COME ON ENGLAND

Heather Miller⁷

There's a deeper meaning relating to the "whale" with BTS and representing ARMY. ie; Tiny Tan, Whalien, etc. 💜🐳😢🤧

Tiana

When it comes to Namjoon, I think you should try to at least check out Mono before Indigo. since you've listened to some of RM already I think it's only fair to check out some of Mono hehe. however whatever path you choose, I respect!

Jenna B.

Ok guys you’re back under the rocks again. That was the legendary Tina Turner, not Whitney Houston. I believe you’re both right, it’s a whale shark. I love the song. I can’t get it out of my head. I agree that the circumstances around the World Cup are horrific but this may be the only time people in some countries will ever see such a merging of cultures and the message of the song is about unity and respect. If we can’t get these messages in front of people, for them to see and hear than there’s no hope for change and growth. You can’t open minds and hearts to change if they don’t know it’s out there and they never see it. That’s a very sad reality. This reminds me of Queens’ We Are The Champions “ another great anthem. Canada 🇨🇦 never had a chance but….. Good job guys 🤗💜💜🇨🇦

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

I think it would be great if you guys can at least listen to Mono before Indigo. RM's first mixtape is amazing but it's a different, more rough vibe since it was from his early years so listening to it at a different time wouldn't really matter. From what RM told us so far about it, Mono and Indigo are a closer representation of his authentic self and his growth from the past few years so it would make sense to listen to them chronologically. But that's just me, you nice keep going 💜

Irina BM

I think you should listen to RM and other works/collabs of his like Change, Don’t, Crying over you, Sexy Nukim by yourselves because they’re definitely a must, and put together a reaction for his more recent works which are Mono and Bicycle first. Then react to Indigo of course.

Maria

I say just listen to Indigo and then go back to do the others later. I think it's fine to discover him as who he is now, and really no album experience should be dependent on other albums as artists change over time and the newest will be most reflective of who they are in this moment in time.

Raevan21

I agree with Mono first, then Indigo and then circle back to RM with time. Mono is an absolute masterpiece and RM rereleased "Bicycle" on streaming platforms yesterday. Someone else mentioned it but please hold any comeback reactions for 24 hours after, as to not distract and allow ARMYs to fully support the comeback. 💜

dulseokbangtan

It would be nice if you could listen to RM and then Mono before Indigo but since Indigo is coming out pretty soon I would suggest listening to Mono and then looping back to RM. I think listening to both mixtapes will help you understand what his mindset was during those times and how he's grown both musically and as a man

Des J

Re: Indigo. Both mixtapes are awesome but they are extremely different stylistically and I think the current info about Indigo suggests it will be much more related to mono than to RM. I don't think you should jump to Indigo without mono, but considering you've heard at least some of RM, you can probably move to mono now and then loop back. Also please note that it is considered ARMY etiquette not to post reactions to comebacks during the first 24 hours, when everyone should prioritize streaming the actual album.

Lauren H.

I love that JK resembles MJ to me as well because I have always loved and was obsessed with MJ before. Loveee

3. RM DILEMMA: I think listening to his previous releases would make you appreciate 'Indigo' more. Like already being familiar with the way RM makes his solo music, how he changed between each project. What subjects he's already tackled. I also think that "Indigo" might have a feel of continuation of something that was included in "mono" as RM said that 'Indigo' is an archive of his 20s. 'RM' is a the dictionary-perfect example of a mixtape (I believe that only two song on this mixtape don't have samples) 'mono' is something very different from 'RM'. Namjoon refers to 'mono' as a 'playlist'. And it really is a playlist when you listen to in from the beginning to end and then loop it. It tells coherent story. And from all the info we got from RM, "Indigo" is just all over the place (as he said in festa 2022 video) but "Indigo" is also his first "proper" album. So the experience might drastically differ. So yeah, that's my unnecessarily long take on it haha. I would just go 'RM' then 'mono' then 'indigo'.

Maya

In my opinion, I think option 2 is the best if you’re sort of in a time crunch. You absolutely need to listen to “Mono” first before diving into his new album. It’s not that long actually and I think it is more aligned with RM’s current music journey. You can circle back to “RM” on a later date.

Sara JIN

I would also recommend to listen to mono first and then indigo. You can save RM for later but you have to react to mono first to understand his story (?) better I guess. But I can't wait for all three reactions. Looking forward to them! And sorry for my bad English :)

tina 🤍

Thank you for this reaction!!! Love this song and I am so proud of JK. 🥰

SK

Hi! I also agree with what others are saying to look at MONO first, then Indigo. I really REALLY recommend a lyric video on youtube called BTS Mixtapes #4: MONO by RM (English lyric guide). Since this mixtape is not too long, you get to listen to the album in 18:29 minutes altogether in this video. Along with the English lyrics, official MVs and unofficial fan-made MVs (for songs without MVs), you also get explanation of the lyrics (phrase meanings and context) within this video. kdeMC

Namjoon has said that indigo is the last recond of his 20s so I think it would be beneficial to understanding where he's at in his music from his 20s as he's about to enter his 30s rm and mono are two very different albums and they show multiple sides of who Kim Namjoon is and how he's grown as a person but also how his style as an artist has evolved along with him as a human being

natasha richardson

I don’t support The World Cup this year because it’s held in Quatar, that country is horrible, it is known for its multiple human rights violations - for example how they treat their migrant workers, women, and queer people (here’s an article about this from the Human Rights Watch: https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2020/country-chapters/qatar). I think it was a very poor decision on Jungkooks part to say yes to this performance when a lot of other artist have said no because of the reasons above (here’s an article about that: https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/qatar-world-cup-music-dua-lipa-rod-stewart-b2228085.html?amp).

bts

Voting for "Mono" first! You don't have to listen to "RM" to go into Indigo because that was during his adolescent years (it's technically him playing with beats and spitting the lyrics that were in his head at the time). On the other hand, "Mono" is an album about his growth and you can understand the depth of Joon's lyrics and his perspective on certain aspects of his life ^^ Definitely listen to at least "Mono's" [ moonchild ], [ uhgood ], and [ seoul ] if you get the chance!! Indigo is meant to be an archive for his 20s (2019 - 2022) so it would be best to listen to Mono first since it came out in 2018 💕

nicki

I'm proud of JK, too!!! The controversy with human rights in Qatar is sad, but, of course, BTS (JK) is about LOVE and RESPECT. Therefore, his performance and presence was needed in the opening ceremony. ...so good 💜🎵

Tiana

I'm not at all surprised that you are watching/listening to Dreamers repeatedly, I know I do. It's a catchy song with a lovely message, and very on brand for BTS. As for Indigo, I say RM, Mono, and Change w/ Wale because Change pt. 2 is track 6 on the album and I suspect they may be connected. I vote for doing all because it will give you another look into his style and thinking how both have matured.

-Mac-

I also agree Mono -> Indigo -> RM

Crystal

I'd definitely recommend listening to RM's discography in order that way you can get the full experience. As for teams I'm rooting for Mexico Japan and Korea!

Dora Dominguez

I 💯 agree with this. think Mono is a must before Indigo. Here’s a link that takes you through the album with amazing visuals & subtitles that include cultural context. https://youtu.be/nXjeV4Lmnqs Please please please watch this for Mono. Borahae guys🫶🏻💜 thanks for taking us on this journey with you.

SugaIsMyPetRock (Pamela)

i agree with the others! Mono ➡️ Indigo ➡️ RM 👌👌

mheng93

I think you guys should definitely listen to Mono and then Indigo it is in line with his most recent work.

Beckyboo⁷

I would listen to RM’s albums/mixtapes in order since it’s an rkive of his story and journey of his 20’s. Thank you! Much Purple Love 💜

Tiana

I’m so proud of my JK 🥺🫶

Sara JIN

I have loved watching the World Cup so far, tonight both my England and the US got through 🙌🏾 Good luck to everyone's team, as long as they are not playing England ;) I'm so proud of Jungkook what an achievement to perform at the opening ceremony, most of the world were watching and he showed what a superstar he is 💜

Beckyboo⁷

Definitely Mono first. My home country doesn’t have a team, so this year I’m rooting for Cameroun 🇨🇲😊

Stanie

You are magicians... They even gave me light so that I could watch the video! There was only 3 hours of electricity for the whole day... real magic💜 Dilemma: I think we should start with MONO. These albums are like an autobiography. Namjoon himself refers to albums as archives. A great solution would be to start with a great MONO💙 P. S. These are sharks.

Glaseon_711

Hii, Argentina hasn't been eliminated, we played against Mexico too, and we winned, tomorrow we will play against Poland, 🇦🇷🫂💜. Sending so much live to all the countries that are playing.💜

Flor M.

MOMO IS A MUST💜💜💜

Sarah Park

Omg Yess!! Im not surprised you have been binging this song, so have I. I know all the words off by heart, I absolutely love it. The best World Cup song in history. I’m supporting many teams but it would be Spain for me 🇪🇸. I think you should listen to RMs mixtapes before indigo because you know BTS and their song references you wouldn’t want to miss something if Rm makes a reference from past songs in Indigo. Love you guys 💜💜

Abbie

I would vote listening to Mono first!💜(it’s really similar to Namjoon’s vibe right now) i think? because you might expect some hardcore angry rap from him and that’s not who he is at all😂RM’s first mixtape was like that and it’s FIRE imo, but very different from his real persona in 2022 I love the artistic, poetic and sonically beautiful package that is mono, it’s a masterpiece, I think it would prepare you both for Indigo!🌊

Butterful

I agree with the others saying Mono first, then Indigo, and then at a later time come back to rm👍🏼

Sofie K.

Brazil all the way!!!! Hoping for our 6th world cup title 🇧🇷 And…I think listening to “mono” before “indigo” would be ideal. I feel like mono is a great introduction to Namjoon’s majestic lyricism (aside from bts songs) and it remains as the album of my life. I feel like Indigo will also be an honest and artistic album, just like mono. RM’s first mixtape, on the other hand, seems more rap/hiphop focused.

Maria Luíza Mota

I would suggest to go deep into Mono only, this mixtape is available now in all music platforms, is what RM wants everybody to hear, you can go back later onto RM. But Mono is a MUST!! I’ll watch this video tomorrow, now is midnight 😌

PamTan

This is a tough choice, I would recommend to at least react to mono, eventhough you already reacted to some songs from Monster mixtape. But anyway, just if you have enough time, because I guess we would appreciate it if you took your time reacting to such amazing mixtapes!

chimipiee♡

Hellooo!! I think you should listen to Mono first. It's not long and I think that you will have a better experience from seeing his growth from mono to indigo. 💗

Red Velvet (Monica)

You definitely need to listen to Mono before Indigo, you can loop back to RM at a later date :)

bts

I think it's important to listen to mono before indigo but not as important to listen to rm, you have already listened to joke and monster right? Anywho that's just my opinion :) though I do hope you loop back to it at some point. It's probably not a huge deal if you don't hear "Change" before "Change pt 2" but just know that the song "Change" is the song Joon did with Wale and there is a music video :) Dreamers is such an amazing anthem, I'm so proud of JK for doing something so amazing 💜

fox

I’m boycotting Qatar, so will not listen or watch his performance. And so I will not watch your reaction. But I still want to support JK, so I’ve been streaming his other solo songs and Left and Right on repeat for a week. I still absolutely love JK just as much as ever, but I do not support his decision in this. But it doesn’t change how I feel about him or the others what so ever! -And even without having listened, I KNOW it’s a banger🎶👍🏼

Sofie K.

Im so excited to watch the video! But let me answer first. I would skip RM for a bit and then loop back. Mono is not long at all, maybe around 22 minutes so you have enough time to get to that before Indigo drops. RM is a great, fantastic mixtape but it seems like the direction Namjoon is going in is more aligned with Mono. Just my two cents.

Les

Kookie SWAG x 1,000%!! 🫠😂💜🇨🇦
