Menace to Dat Ass!
Added 2024-11-16 03:34:10 +0000 UTCAs a kid in the 80's, I watched a LOT of the Dennis the Menace cartoon. Also read the comic in the paper and even enjoyed the Walter Matthau flick that came out in the 90's. It's a cute premise that is evergreen: Neighbor kid with way too much energy bothering his elderly neighbor with questions, pranks and naivete at all hours of the day. But even as a kid, I didn't really identify with Dennis, I mostly just felt sympathy for poor old Mr. Wilson! All these years later I've long realized I also had the hots for George Wilson and wanted to revisit this childhood gem as an adult! In the cartoon Mr. Wilson has a sad little thin mustache and many of the comics too, but the old comics, and the movie he has a much thicker one so obviously that's what I went with!
