Kintaro (Mortal Kombat)
Added 2023-01-14 04:53:25 +0000 UTCI'll end up drawing Kano sooner or later but, I'm really happy that Kintaro won the poll. The Shokan are so much fun to draw with their extra limbs, and the subspecies of Tigrar even more so because they're fuzzy and stripey! Kintaro here was a crush of mine all the way back when Mortal Kombat 2 came out and introduced him. He just seemed more interesting design-wise than his counterpart Goro and on top of that I loved his leather harness and bulging leather codpiece lol. I kept his armored version very close to MK2 in terms of color and appearance, but went with later incarnations of the character that play up the tiger aspect more. I'll be honest I pushed that part more into the furry realm because I've always thought this big lad could be hot husband material.
The final image here in his Wastelander gear is nothing canon, I just like to think after the tournaments and the Realm wars that Kintaro, older now, questions his past. He was a warrior under Emperor Shao Khan for so long that he wonders if that's all he is and decides to wander the deserts of Outlands alone to challenge himself and figure out if there's more to him than a lifetime of battle. I like to think he meets someone, a human from Earth Realm, who can't fight and seems so incapable without Kintaro's aid. Still, perhaps this weak human can teach the old Tigrar something about compassion, support and humor. ... And y'know sexy stuff too.
