Before we get into the rant, I just wanted to say that if you guy have any thoughts on some Midjourney stuff that you'd like to see in terms of Pin-Up images, you can always leave a comment. No promises on if they'd get made, but you never know. I'm always looking for stuff (Pin-Up, Caption, funny little images) to generate.
So fun story. When I first decided to finally get Midjourney, I didn't know what to really, well, DO with it. I had been bothering a friend to make images but they were a bit of a prude and wouldn't do weird stuff, so that is what finally pushed me to pay for MJ.
So after I had it, I didn't know what to do with it. So eventually, I just decided to put Scarlett Johansson into different pictures and forms. The very first image I ever upsized was her in the role of Rose DeWitt Bukaker from the film Titanic, replacing Kate Winslet. After that, I wanted to see what she'd look like as an anime character, as a mouse, homeless, as a mafia wife, an Australian...And then I turned her into a chubby and geeky teenage girl who goes between looking like Ellie from The Last of Us and a chubby, teenaged ScarJo. There's even some of her as a Disney CGI art style character.
It's fun to re-imagine actresses in different roles or ethnicities.
Even funnier story: I actually don't care for Scarlett Johansson as an actress that much. I think she does her best work as a supporting protagonist, but when she's the lead...She falls flat. Lucy and the Ghost in the Shell movie are the big ones I've seen with her as the main character and her performance is just so wooden that outside of the visuals I was just waiting for the movies to end. She's good in the early years of Marvel as Black Widow, but the more those films grew and the more she appeared in them, the less the character appealed to me. She's great in her debut in Iron Man 2, but phenomenal in Captain America 2. After that she's just sort of there.
Anyway, back to the AI stuff, sometimes I get a little fixated on certain actresses, so you can expect future Pin-Up dumps in the future to focus on Kat Dennings and Natalie Portman. But not in the near future. Next week I'm thinking about doing a smaller dump consisteting of the art my online friends have requested I generate for them.
