In a situation where people are good with firearms you never want to point a gun at them. It is very reasonable for the man to shoot at Kate. Guns are not toys and you don't want to point it at anyone unless you intend to use it.

Great reaction.
The movie is a masterpiece.
The director purposefully lets you know what's going on thru hates eyes .
You felt the frustration.
Then switches it up to the real antagonist at the end.
Filmed brilliantly, with realism and leaves you to choose right or wrong.
Thanks again.

lol thats not wine, thats most likely whiskey, a mans go to. Yea its a wicked movie but very realistic. Those cartels really handle business like that and even darker. There was a time when Mexico was a friendly place to visit but now if you go that way, you have a high chance of being abducted and held for ransom. Good reaction. You ladies are sure uploading some great content. On to the next

Alejandro's actions at the end while not applaudable in any way, were done for his own personal reason. For his revenge he needed Alarcon to feel the same loss he had to live with everyday, if only for a few seconds. HIs pursuit for revenge had turned him into a "wolf". Which as he states is what is needed now in this "land of wolves".

I'd like to recommend the movie Columbiana for your reaction. The movie is also about cartels and revenge in the broadest sense. Zoe Saldana plays the lead role; she also played Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Great movie, and as always, an awesome reaction from you ladies.💜

I lost family members to the cartel. That's why I considered anyone in America that does drug as a supporter to terrorist. only exists because of America's need for illegal substances. This movie of course is fictitional but all the different violence elements actually happen and different stories. Mexico is extremely dangerous to visit as Americans. The president looks the other way because may consider this as an American problem.

I actually live about an hour away from El Paso/Mexico Border, this movie captures the brutal reality of the area well. I stopped visiting Juarez about 10 years ago, It's just too dangerous now.
Another great reaction, and yes, it's HOT af here. Up to 45C in the summer

One of my favorite films and one of my recommendations. The drug cartels in Mexico and Colombia bring in BIILLIONS annually and are extremely dangerous. If only people wouldn't buy that junk. 😩 There is a sequel (if you gals are interested), but it's nowhere near as acclaimed. Another great reaction you two. 👏👏

WoW! Another Great Reaction, (and movie/film!)
FYI: (2015 film) An idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by a government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico.
After rising through the ranks of her male-dominated profession, idealistic FBI agent Kate Macer receives a top assignment. Recruited by mysterious government official Matt Graver, Kate joins a task force for the escalating war against drugs. Led by the intense and shadowy Alejandro, the team travels back-and-forth across the U.S.-Mexican border, using one cartel boss to flush out a bigger one.
Hella (At the End): "Is it really what existing in the world?"
Short answer: Yes, and worse now, regarding the Mexico/South America Cartels. It was during the 2009-2016 Presidential Administration, and at the end when they finally realized their failure.
Unfortunately, it is x2-x3 times worse now in 2025, with the addition of Fentanyl maliciously flooding our streets with this poison from China, to add to this dilemma, and Mexican/South American Cartel's Dominance here in the USA, as a direct result of weak/soft policies, and blatant disregard from the 2020-2024 Presidential Administration. IMHO :(

Chi, you mentioned it “looks hot”. Funny enough, the more films you watch that take place in Mexico you’ll will notice this a common theme.
Starting in the year 2000, lots of American films or tv shows, when showing the country of Mexico, use a yellow tint (called sepia tone).
It’s a meme at this point with how common it is. It probably went mainstream during a show called Breaking Bad, where whenever the characters were in Mexico, a heavy yellow tint was used.

Villeneuve has made some great movies, I'll just repeat what everyone else is recommending: Arrival, Prisoners, Blade Runner 2049 (but watch the original first)
Also don't be too afraid of vacationing in Mexico. Some areas are dangerous like Ciudad Juárez, which is the place they crossed over to in the movie to collect the prisoner, but other places are much safer, I recommend Tulum which is a beautiful town known for its cenotes.

I think Alejandro's only motivation for targeting the kids was revenge. Everyone in this film simply uses each other as a means to an end. Alejandro uses Matt. Matt uses Alejandro. They both use Kate. Even she, in a sense, uses them as an end, although she doesn't know what that end is. The more interesting questions are: does red tape bureaucracy serve a purpose, if nothing gets accomplished without getting "dirty"? They succeed in their mission, but then again, does anything actually get accomplished? One cartel leader is killed, a dozen take his place. The corrupt officer is killed, the son grows up to be like his father. We see this in the final scene with the children playing soccer. Gunshots go off in the distance, and the cycle continues.
Edit: Btw I'm not going to pretend to understand the intricacies of geopolitics and foreign cartels, but I think Chi sums up this film really well right as it ended "I don't know what's right and wrong anymore"

It's very complicated when you have many drug cartels all fighting to be the biggest supplier of drugs. It's very much like Game of Thrones, meaning that the entire family of a drug lord is a target and the kids are killed so they can't grow up to avenge their fathers.
There is a great miniseries called Narcos that covers the beginnings of the big Columbian and Mexican drug cartels as well as one of the most famous drug lords in history, Pablo Escobar.

This is one of Villeneuve's better films in my opinion. Prisoners is another film by him that's worth watching.
Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 are films that other people will probably recommend as well. (You would want to watch the original Blade Runner first.) Some people really like the original, some don't. I think it's one of the greatest films ever made. Both versions are slow.
Villeneuve also directed both Dune films. My favorite film of his is 'Enemy', although it's a pretty strange film, and I don't think I would recommend it as a reaction film.

This movie is some of Roger Deakins' (cinematographer) and Denis Villeneuve's (director) finest work.
They also worked together on Prisoners (2013), a great mystery/thriller you'd definitely like!
I think Deakins best work is The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007), an exploration into the life of one of America's most famous outlaws. Also with some great performances from Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck... but it's quite long and slow-paced, you have to be in the mood to appreciate it.

Hella: "Don't underestimate her, she might be better than you."
Actually, no she definitely isn't, in terms of tactical operations. The men she was backing up were Delta Force. Along with Navy Seals, they are the very best of the very best of US special operations, a wider pool of specially trained military personnel. In effect, there is no one better than them. If there were, they would be Delta Force too.
