Interview with the Vampire Reaction

Interview with the Vampire Reaction

Loved watching you two watch this movie. If you’re looking for another show to watch, I’d really want to recommend True Detective, season 1. It’s about two police in Louisiana investigating a cult murder. It’s often referred to as one of the best seasons ever of American television. I think you’d really be fascinated by it, and it’s a very popular show from 10 years ago, so I think people would be excited to watch you watch it. Love you, munchies!

Chris Rouse

The author Ann Rice who wrote the novel, has two other adaptations that I'm aware of. Queen of the Damned (2002) Lestat is in this different actor, and a TV show about witches Mayfair Witches I think.

Matthew Finn

Nosferatu 2024 is one hell of a vampire movie may

Daniel Sheargold

This is a great movie and a fantastic adaptation of a book, effectively covering everything in the book (The Vampire Chronicles series). Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) won an Oscar for this role. As for vampire lore, most movies tend to interpret vampires in their own way. Some depict vampires dying due to crosses, crucifixes, sunlight, and stakes to the heart, while others only involve fire, sunlight, and decapitation. By the way, Armand is not the oldest vampire, and Lestat isn't who you think he is; this is Louis's (pronounced Louie) interpretation. Recommendations for vampire movies The Lost Boys, Fright Night(1985), Blade II (should have been watched after Blade I), Byzantium, 30 Days of Night, and Let the Right One In. There are a few others, but I wouldn't recommend those to my worst enemy. 👌🏾

RichieBIV

My recommendations remain: - Arrival - Pan's Labyrinth - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Chris

"The Lost Boys" and "What We Do in the Shadows"! Good vampire movies.

Beau Tanner

If you like vampire movies you should watch the new movie Nosferatu came out last year 2024!

Ian D

I just want to mention that Queen of the Damned is the follow up movie. Both are about the same vampire, and it is worth watching

Justin Edwards

She beat out Christina Ricci for this role!

Nathanial House

Fright Night, Near Dark and The Lost Boys are good vampire movies.

Antonio Vann

Kirsten Dunst gave such an awesome performance in this movie even though she was still a child. She is also one of those actors who, despite being very talented, never really had a really big breakthrough, but she has played in some great films. Vampire movie recommendations. Let me In (2010) is a great vampire drama. The book was a big surprise success and the movie is very well done. Probably less well known but highly recommended. Dracula Untold (2014) is a more action-fantasy story of the most famous vampire in the world. Not exactly true to the book but still a fun watch. The Underworld Saga is a very popular vampire series with its own interesting mythology. A movie that is not a vampire movie but is an immortal classic that I would like to recommend is Highlander There Can Only Be One (1986). I saw the movie again a few days ago and I think it would be perfect for a fun reaction. That was an awesome reaction, ladies, as always!💜

Digitalversager

Vampires Kiss is a good one

colin summers

Should watch the originals

Ahmad12

Yeah in the books, the story follows Lestat in the modern day

Robert Meza

another good upload. And nice butterfly jewelry. Butterflies represent rebirth.

Saints_Madness

Wow! This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I have never seen or heard such amazing and thoughtful commentary and known anyone who actually understands this movie the way you two ladies did while watching this, and the ending commentary! Thank you for this great reaction!

jj

hmmm .... perhaps some day we can get a reaction to the Underworld Franchise

JessDMorgan

Sympathy For The Devil ;)

Armarbu

Kirsten Dunst has been a great actress ever since she was this little.

Dajefe70

The original Fright Night from the 80s is solid gold. I second Fright Night.

Mike G

If you haven't read the books yet, I highly recommend that you do. Anne Rice is amazing! As far as other vampire recommendations my list would be: Finish the UNDERWORLD Saga Finish the BLADE trilogy LET THE RIGHT ONE IN A GIRL WALKS ALONE AT NIGHT NOSFERATU (remake and original) QUEEN OF THE DAMNED (prequel/sequel to INTERVIEW) 30 DAYS OF NIGHT LOST BOYS FRIGHT NIGHT (Original) ONCE BITTEN (Jim Carrey comedy) DRACULA: UNTOLD SALEM'S LOT SINNERS LIFE FORCE

Nathanial House

Antonio kills it in everything he does!

Nathanial House

LIFEFORCE is criminally underrated!

Nathanial House

They did UNDERWORLD already a while back, but that's a great list!

Nathanial House

If Katie or Hella were vampires I'd be easily seduced & die immediately 😅

W

"Underworld" is the Best vampire movie 👍

Johnny Sondergard

what we do in the shadows (2014) its also about interviewing vampires but its a comedy from my country

matthew

Daybreakers (2009). Keep this one for towards the end of your vampire movie series.

Alec Dacyczyn

30 Days of Night (2007) good vampire movie ☺️

Blackwargreymon00

The score for this film was so good. SO GOOD. And the set designs, costumes, and makeup *chef kiss

Daryl

This film is based on the book of the same name that was written by Anne Rice and published in 1976. The book was not an immediate success but built a strong following over time. By the 80s, the book was a colossal success, and the publisher asked Rice to write more books and this became The Vampire Chronicles that has 13 books in the series. The books weren't the first to imagine vampires as more sexy than monstrous, but no doubt these books/movies have probably had a lot of influence on how modern day people (at least in the US) imagine vampires. Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were both big stars when the film was made in 1994, but Cruise was probably the better known at that time, having already made Top Gun, A Few Good Men, and Rain Man. VAMPIRE MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS 2025 - SINNERS. You can't react to this yet as it is still in theaters in the US, but it is a huge hit directed by Ryan Cogler, who also directed Black Panther and Creed. 2024 - NOSFERATU - directed by Robert Eggers. This is a great movie and so is THE WITCH also directed by him. 2008 - LET THE RIGHT ONE IN. This one is Swedish but really great. 2007 - 30 DAYS OF NIGHT - Vampires attack a town in Alaska. 2003 - UNDERWORLD. i don't want to tell you too much but it's fun and has action and romance. 1987 - THE LOST BOYS. This one is an 80's classic and a lot of fun. 1987. NEAR DARK. 1985 - FRIGHT NIGHT. This movie has a really fun premise. I loved this movie so much as kid. If you watch all these, you are officially a Vampire Slayer and know how to kill any vampire you might come across.

Steven Roy

for vampire movie recommendations; Nosferatu (2024) is excellent, plus it would be nice to see you react to a more recent movie The Lost Boys (1987) is a classic Blade II (2002) You reacted to Blade 1, the sequel is just as good, maybe better 30 Days of Night (2007) is pretty good Lifeforce (1985) is about space vampires which is sort of related, might be one of the more insane movies i've ever watched for my money the best vampire stuff is in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but that is quite lengthy, but if you ever want to do another series that would be a good one.

Jonathan Kidman

What about an animated vampire movie? Vampire Hunter D (1985) It's sci-fi horror action. Very few snakes.

Lucky Card

Kursten Dunst is the little girl. She was in the first Spiderman movie with Toby Mcquire.

Gregory A Mann

Movie Munchies have been getting good picks lately, not bad! 😎👍

Mark W

Blade (1) is quite funny, and I think the Munchies have already covered it 🙂 Fright Night is excellent and hilarious! I’m reaching out for UK movie coverage on the Munchies channel (and I appreciate I’m fighting a losing battle)…. but 28 Days Later is definitely more vampirish than zombies. Oh, Munchies, just a little UK movie season, if you could. There’s SO much! 😂🙂

Duncan

Armand was played by Antonio Banderas. He has several excellent movies you guys would enjoy. The Mask of Zorro, Assassins, Desperado, 13th Warrior just to name a few.

David Collins

My vampire movie recommendations are 'Nosferatu' (2024), 'Let the Right One In (2008) -- a great Swedish film, Fright Night (1985), Cronos (1992) -- a 'unique' take on vampirism, 30 Days of Night (2007). And maybe Blade 1 & 2 (Marvel comics vampires). It was a fun reaction from you two. 🤠🤠 MOST Vampire films follow the 'Hollywood' (American) interpretation of Vampires. But, Vampire stories have been around for at least 900 years and from various cultures.

Pinitchio

ah this movie, there was quite a bit of fighting behind the scenes with this one. Tom Cruise Was Controversial Casting: Fans (and Anne Rice herself the writer of the book) were initially outraged by Cruise being cast as Lestat. After seeing the film, Rice publicly praised his performance and even took out a full-page ad in Variety to apologise. Neil Jordan Directed: Jordan, best known for The Crying Game, brought a gothic, lavish atmosphere to the film. He and Anne Rice didn’t always agree on the adaptation. Makeup Took Hours: Actors were hung upside down before filming some scenes so their veins would bulge, allowing for more realistic “vampire makeup” mapping. Christian Slater Replaced River Phoenix: The role of Daniel Molloy (the interviewer) was originally meant for River Phoenix, but he tragically died before filming began. Slater donated his salary to Phoenix's favourite charities.

King Bob

As much as I love Underworld; Blade still wins =p

Thalanoth

Yes, Louis is every bit as annoying in the books. That's why he was the main character only in the first book, which was made into this movie. After that it's Lestat all the way. Anne Rice, the author of the books, saw that Lestat was the character that caught the imagination of readers and she followed up on it. She mellowed his character a bit, gave him a lot of backstory, and made him a lot more sympathetic and understandable. He's like a modern rock star, a bad boy who is far too charismatic to ignore. The main theme from the books gets a bit lost in the movie but it's this, the eternal loneliness of the vampire as everything they knew and love passes into dust. I enjoyed the books because of the author's exploration of that theme and the vampire's attempts to cope with it. Other readers probably enjoyed the books for different reasons.

Mr Jackpots

No crocs in Louisiana. Just alligators. (wild populations)

Manospondylus

I'll forever associate this movie with my older sister. Same with Legends of the Fall and Meet Joe Black. The Brad Pit teenage girl movie pack of the 90's

Manospondylus

Lot's of reactors watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), the TV show it's excellent. As far as vampire movies - "30 days of night" (2007), "Daybreakers" (2009), and agree with the person below you would love Underworld (2003) I think.

Wayne

For vampire recommendations, the 2024 "Nosferatu" and "Let the Right One In". For non vampire "Passion of the Christ" and "Wedding Crashers".

f w

Johnny Sondergard

I thought we would get this one in October so nice surprise

SM

Been recommending this for awhile, thanks ladies.

f w

Omg omg i love this movie!!! Can't wait to watch later!!

Daryl

YES! I love Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles! I hope you ladies like this movie. All the actors really crushed it in this one. Little Claudia is truly terrifying.
