Captain America: The Winter Soldier Reaction

I love the action and plot twists in this movie. It is still one of the best MCU movies, but there are a lot of good ones left to watch :)

it's really a great movie, and a nice introduction to some characters! i'm surprised you forgot "Hail Hydra" :) but now comes one of my top 3 favorite movies in these three phases of MCU - Guardians of the Galaxy!! can't wait!! ^^

Well since no one else seems to be pointing it out: The old man that plays the museum guard that says "I am so fired" is Stan Lee. He created most of these Marvel characters for the comic books and has a small part (cameo) in every one of these movies until his death. If you look for him you will see him in every Marvel movie.

It's such great fun to see reactions from people not familiar with the comics and who were not steeped in this movie's marketing hype t the time. The identity of the Winter Soldier becomes the dramatic reveal that I think the creators desired. If you recall the previous Captain America movie, Hydra is the organization that the Red Skull leads (remember all of the soldiers at the end of the movie saying "Hail Hydra!") Did you know: the Hydra is legendary beast from Greek mythology. It was described as a giant snake with many heads (usually nine). The Greek demigod Hercules was tasked with defeating it, but found that for each head that he would cut off, two more would grow in its place. I guess they must grow back rather quickly. Anyway, that's why those Hydra agents would keep saying that if you cut off one head that two more would grow, etc. etc. Of greater importance is that the Hydra operatives would say *"Hail Hydra"* as a way to recognize each other and basically signify that they are on the same team.

I think this might be my favorite Marvel movie, but some others come close too. The Russo Brothers, the directors, really did a great job with the Marvel movies they were given. These two brothers were mostly directing American Comedy TV Shows before this film, but I think they did okay :) The guy that Captain America fights at the very beginning on the ship is George St. Pierre. In real life, he is a mixed-martial arts fighter. He was the champion of the UFC in his weight class for a while. I don’t think Chris Evans would do so well in a real fight against George, but in a movie, Captain American will win. haha. Sebastian Stan plays Bucky, AKA The Winter Soldier. Stan is known for doing big movies like Marvel films, and then acting in small, independent productions. I really like him in a movie called FRESH - maybe save that one for Halloween.

Winter Soldier is such a great movie. I always say it's the Marvel equivalent of The Dark Knight. It's not only a good comic book movie but also a good spy/action movie. You two are so cute Hella with her little shield and Chi forms a heart with her hands in the after credit scene with Bucky. Next week is sure to be hilarious, Guardian of The Galaxy will confuse the ladies a bit and then make them laugh nonstop.😅 That was a great reaction ladies, as always!💜

Ladies, fantastic reaction. The way I could tell that you were so into this movie, is that both of you were literally leaning forward for the entire second half. A little bit of trivia, or an Easter egg, is that on Nick Fury’s grave stone was a quote: “The path of the righteous man…” Ezekiel 25:17 This was what Samuel Jackson’s character kept saying in the movie Pulp Fiction. Loved the reaction Munchies!

One of my favorites things about the MCU is Steve and Buckys ride or die relationship, like there brothers 😎, and poor Bucky , that line always gets me too “Cause I’m with you til the end of the line.” 😢
