The Wizard of Oz Reaction

The Wizard of Oz Reaction

Comments

At the very least, their enjoyment in the viewing experience is actual and obvious. And in my year or so of watching with them, among the ladies none commonly seem more visibly moved to the highs & lows of cinema-induced emotion and empathy than Hella (and perhaps Tien when it's that reaction duo).

Katie has such an adorable laugh! This was the perfect film for them to react to. Their entertainment is so genuine. So many great memories of watching The Wizard of Oz every year during the holidays. I hope they start as well.❤😋

Curtis House

I agree! LSOH might be the greatest musical I've ever seen. They've shown an appreciation for science fiction and fantasy in the past so I'm sure they would love it.

Curtis House

I would love to see them react to Little Shop of Horrors. It would be amazing!❤

Curtis House

1:37:46..... Katie: "Maybe the shoes will take her home." Really? REALLY? Sigh... This is isn't the first time one of these credulity-straining snap connections has been made during a supposedly fresh reaction viewing of a film, but I usually don't bother pointing them out. Ah well, for now I still enjoy believing that most of the viewings are entirely unprepared/foreknown, even though the cynical part of me is brushing up against a still-hazy barrier of doubting contention.

S_Vive

there are several others versions of this movie . one is "the Wiz" and another that is in theaters now called "Wicked".

Woof, Katie is so fine!

PJJR

If you want a classic musical, you should check out "Nightmare before Christmas" if you haven't seen it already. Or if you're interested in older movies, "Modern Times" with Charlie Chaplin is hilarious and still relatable. A very different style than you see anymore.

Luis Dawnfinder

It's amazing how well this movie holds up today. So full of heart! Hope you all can react to "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"! II know you'll love it. :)

Chris

Great reaction. Careful Katie Tiktok probably causes brain rot.

Vogon Poet

Absolutely perfect and just in time for Christmas.. Have watched this gem every Christmas for more than 50 years, and I'm really looking forward to watching it this year with you lovely ladies. Cheers from Nottingham England.

watzizname

Great reaction to a real true classic. I am sure you ladies would love Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Scottish Smurf

Oh man Labyrinth would be a great watch for them. And introduce them to Muppet movies

Grumples

Oh cool. Thank you. I will go and look for it when I am next looking for a reaction to watch, and none of the reactors I follow are currently watching a movie that interests me.

Stephen Paynter

They watched the first Narnia movie, just to let you know if you want to find it.

S M

This is a true classic. I always find it amazing what filmmakers have managed to bring to the screen with the limited possibilities in terms of special effects they had back then. Wonderful reaction ladies!💜 If you want to see more musical movies, I recommend Les Miserables from 2012. It has a much more serious story, a lot of good actors and many unforgettable songs. What is special about this movie is that they developed special microphones and a recording technique that allowed the actors to sing live.

Digitalversager

Consider watching Narnia trilogy of films, for a somewhat similar trip to a magical land.

Stephen Paynter

Sturdy house.

Manospondylus

Nice - a true classic! Now that's you've seen it, you may notice so many references to it in other, more recent films. It's got to be in the top 3 of most referenced movies of all time (at least in the US)

James Hull

The next musical should be "The Rocky Horror Picture Show".

Armarbu

If you like the old classic movies, you should check out the original Willy Wonka and maybe Gone With The Wind.

Anthony Simmons

Also, if you enjoy musical movies like this, it might be worth checking out The Sound of Music, Grease, Moulin Rouge, or others!

Brandon

"Maximum Effort" ~ The Cowardly Lion ?!?!??! :D

Proto Type

Watching this I was thinking you would enjoy 'Labyrinth' (1986)

S M

It was so nice watching this with you guys! If theres one musical I hope you’ll watch its “The Little Shop of Horrors”

mundanelotus

The 40 year old virgin

J’aurda

And now Chi and Hella; you need to think back to the movie Spaceballs and you will understand the first meeting of Yogurt is a direct reference to this movie.

Jeffrey Roberts

The Original Blockbuster

Brett Norman

yes that is her real voice Judy Garland is very talented and was only 16 in this film great reaction keep up the good work

Coby

I'd love to see them tackle some classics from the 60s and 70s. Chinatown or Polanski's Apartment Trilogy would be great choices. Perhaps they could save those for next Halloween 25’?

Tyler T

One of my favorite films of all time here. So many sweet memories of watching this as a young child, and countless times over the years with family. It's just one of those classics where acting, script, production, and music come together in a magical way. And to answer your question, yes, that is Judy Garland's real singing voice, and she was only 16 in this movie! She was very talented.

Brandon

I can only think that what prompted this choice is the trending talk surrounding the release of Wicked... though that's not saying anything against watching the 1939 technicolor classic for its own sake. But with a good reaction and easy reception for such an older film, perhaps the ladies could now be more willing to watch other groundbreaking/genre-defining classics of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s.

S_Vive

If you like this you should watch "Tin Man" the mini series.
