Fight Club Reaction

Fight Club Reaction

Tyler was deeper than Andrew Tate or any of the other toxic masculinity stuff you're referring to. He was anit-consumerism, anti-toxic self improvement, stood up for the working class, and sought to restore financial equality amongst the masses. I can tell you haven't seen Joaquin Phoenix's Joker too, if you think he's anything like Tyler Durden.

Michael R

Tyler is literally the embodiment of a power fantasy that weak and directionless dudes wish for themselves. He is toxic af, he's an awful person, a psycho, and yeah a terrorist. He's basically who Andrew Tate wishes he could be. Narrator realizes this by the end and tries to stop him, but by that time he has recruited a literal army of weak and aimless men to his cause. If anything he's basically like the Joaquin Phoenix Joker in that he shines a spotlight on a major problem in society, in this case being that these dudes have no positive direction in their lives and end up falling in line with the first thing that gives them a sense of purpose, which in this case is literal terrorism. Sunbeams

Not a kids medical book, it's a journal from the previous tenant at Paper Street. They were writing weird poetry from the point of view of 'Jack's' organs. "I am jack's Colon" Tyler: "I get cancer. I kill jack." The narrator just runs with it and slips it in throughout.

Sunbeams

An interesting topic to debate is what else in the movie was imaginary beside Tyler Durden, such as Marla Singer, or even the Fight Club itself.

I think the point of characters like Tyler Durden and V from V for Vendetta went over you head. You're not suppose to come away from these movies hating those characters or reducing them simply to "terrorists".

movie is ok

skewty

prob right, bith gladiatior maybe

skewty

Yes. The thing that gets me is that in order to convince Tyler, he somehow had to convince himself that he was killing himself, while not actually killing himself.

Prometheus

It's not really possible with this film though, because the voiceover narration means there's so much more dialogue than most movies. And this movie throws a lot of concepts at the viewer (which they have to discuss - it is a reaction video after all).

Prometheus

The explanation for his saying "I am Jack's..." comes about 1/3 of the way through the film when the protagonist is paging through a kids' medical book in which the description of every organ begins with "I am Jack's...".

Prometheus

Many people say you have to watch Fight Club at least twice, in order to understand it. After you read the comments, I would actually like to see you watch Fight Club a second time, because after you know the twist, you get much more from the film.

Prometheus

If you want any suggestion, is dont talk while people in the movie are talking. You ladies would understand it better.

skewty

He is still alive at the end. He shot the gun at the wrong angle to kill himself. The bullet exited out the side of his face instead of going through his brain.
