Quickdraw McGraw- Memorial Day - 2023

Sorry, LGBTQ+ community, but this needs to be said, so take this from a member of your own group:

We deserve a day. THEY deserve the month.

Yeah. This may rub some people the wrong way, but I find it truly revolting that we only dedicate one single day a year to commemorate our brothers and sisters who sacrifice everything to protect our freedoms, but we give an entire pride month to the LGBTQ+ community. Why, exactly? This isn't 1809 where being openly gay could get you executed. It's 2023. The entire fucking country is gong insane with "identity" now. Anyone can be anything and nobody is allowed to criticize anyone. This is the SAFEST time in history to be yourself. Being open about how and whom you love is not heroic, at least when compared to our actual heroes, and ESPECIALLY not in a time when people can identify as fucking furniture if they want to.

I am on principle against war on every level, AND I am also in support of our soldiers on every level. I don't want there to be war, but I want them all to do their jobs so they can return home safely. The level of damage that war does to the psyche and the body is relentlessly horrific. It's terrifying. To say that Caitlin Jenner deserves an entire month, but hundreds of thousands of wounded and broken soldiers get one day and some burgers on a grill? It's just gross.

As someone who has family in the military, who is friends with many people in the military, and as someone who uses ABDL as a way to deal with his own brand of PTSD (as many people in the ABDL community who come from military backgrounds do for their own traumas suffered in war), allow me to personally thank you for your service.

::EDIT:: A good follower pointed out that I neglected to mention that May is military appreciation month, so thanks for that. The main crux of my argument was that our society and our pop culture only seems to recognize it and acknowledge it for the dedicated day of Memorial Day  :D

Having just moved and finally having a place to call my own for a bit, I've been in the process of building my bedroom into an adult nursery. All that I really have left to do is build the crib and hang some pictures. It's been wonderful having a nursery of my own (almost) and I've been sleeping better than I ever have done before. Like a baby, one would say! I'm on the verge of making a dream come true, and I couldn't do this if not for the freedom of living afforded to me by the men and women who dedicate themselves to our protection.

So this this Memorial Day I wanted to thank everyone who has and/or continues to sacrifice their time, health, sanity, and lives to allow jackasses like me to spend our days wearing diapers, being twisted, and living out fantasies. They go through hell on a level I would never be able to survive, and they do it to so that we can have the freedom to live our lives as strangely and oddly and unconventionally and fucked uppedly as we want to.

Let it never be said that those in the ABDL/Ageplay communities don't honor the privileges we have for their bravery.
