Summary of 2023 Productions

Hello guys! It is thanks to all of you that I am still reluctantly alive. Thank you very much.
And I look forward to working with you again next year.
Now that the year 2023 is almost over, I would like to take a look back at what we have produced this year. To give you an idea of the result, it seems that I completed 12 pieces this year (there is still one piece of work-in-progress that has been tentatively assembled).
If I think of it as one pieces per month, I might be able to make more. I think it is because some of them are very heavy in production calories (including videos).
Review of 2023 productions, aspirations and policies for 2024, etc.
Let's take a quick look back. Here is a rough summary in chronological order.
┃Productions and one comment, etc
1. Eldora Model Thea

This is the commission work requested by Eldora Model. It was a lot of work...

2. Swimsuit Mashiro sculpted by Tomogomafu

The kit is so simple but cute that you can make it in 3 days.

The Masiro video was a test to see what kind of changes could be seen in a video without ASMR-like background music, while expanding the range of filming.
Comparing the youtube data published in this article with the current data did not change anything. The finding was that as the number of views increases, the view retention rate becomes a pot-bottom graph. I still think 10 minutes or so is the best length for a production video like this! Well, I'll keep putting them out at 30 minutes!
3.Fujiyama sankaku Houshou Marine 3D Edition

This is the commission work requested for painting sample.

I have memories of gloss-coating the armpit shadow darker and darker. Looking back, I felt like there was a huge increase in kits highlighting the armpits from last year to this year.
4、5.Grizzly panda Kashimakaze

I put a lot of effort into shooting and editing this one as well. And actually, I made two of them, one of which was commission work. I actively used brush gradations in the eye painting.

It was exhibited at the ”夜の大美ガ展” held in April.
Hokke Suisan Nightingale

Commission work from the United States. Work on coloring is scheduled to resume in January 2024. No count as it is not completed.
I made my own syringe and duplicated it instead of the one that came with the kit. I found that I could do it by myself unexpectedly, which broadened my horizons.

6.Seat next to Owen Glorious

This is the commission work requested for painting sample.
I uploaded it to Youtube and of course it got a yellow mark. I guess it's natural...
The body is molded in one piece without any divisions, a kit that shows sculptor's attention to detail.

7.Shouko Waitress ver. sculpted by Banya

This is a 3D printed kit, but the quality of the resin I received was so good that I was able to make it as if it were ordinary GKs. It was so good that I wished all the resin was the same as this one.

Fujiyama sankaku Shishiro botan(Only face painting)

This is quite special, but it was an order for an eye-painting only.
Botan's eye-painting is simple and not difficult to adjust the eye line, so it took only a little over 10 hours to complete.
8.9 Minamoto no raikou sculpted by Benchmark

One of them was a commissioned work. It was a beautiful sculpture, but it was so difficult to make that I worked on it slowly from June to the end of September...about 2 months in fact, if I summarize the time period.
It was exhibited at the ”大美ガ展” in December.
It was an extraordinary kit that forced me to rethink my abilities (coloring knowledge, color scheme design, painting procedures, masking, etc.). In terms of working hours, I spent more than 150 hours on this project, including repainting. The eye paint was very difficult to align with the line of sight. I used the eye paint alone for about 20 days.
This kit made me feel insecure and inadequate in my own coloring and eye painting abilities. As a solution, I started to create a coloring specification sheet based on Imomu's blog. Furthermore, I can safely say that it was an injury that led me to do digital drafting for eye paint. They have helped me to improve my work efficiency.
Digital eye painting is still in the testing stage and is not highly accurate, but it has been very useful in searching for discrepancies in comparison with the materials.
10.11. Fujiyama sankaku Houshou Marine 3D Edition

Both of them are commission work. Here is the Marine again. They were made at the same time. One of them was a request from the United States.
There was a little trouble when it arrived in the U.S. (when we put the body on the base, the center axis of the body floated out), but it seems that the base was actually inside out, and once we realized that, we were able to put the body up properly.
I thought it would be better to make a note of the reverse side and orientation on the protective paper if the base is to be removed from the body and sent. (Especially if the client is not familiar with handling garage kits.)

12.Owari sculpted by Jose

This is the commission work requested for painting sample.
I think this may have been the second time in my life that I painted tan skin. It's huge! Brown! Gal!!!! Who doesn't love it? So it was sold out at Jose's BOOTH in just 2 minutes after it went on sale. It's amazing.
I have switched to an ASMR policy for my videos, and perhaps because of this, I have not received any complaints from BGM copyright fraud groups. Since it does not seem to be particularly unpopular, I will continue to only use working sounds. Naturally, the videos are marked yellow.

13.Ichigeki sanmanpatsu Bunny Toki

This is the commission work requested for painting sample.
This is the first shot I tried with the new skin recipe. It has already been completed and OK'd, but I have not yet finished shooting the show casing on my end....
I am sure that Toshi-san, the prototype designer, will make some announcements around January or February next year, so I would appreciate it if you could wait with anticipation. I finished editing the video of the production part today, so I will be able to release it soon after the announcement.
┃2024 aims to improve work efficiency and simplify video production
Now, to summarize, for the 2023 production, I had 4 commissions, 5 sample paintings, 2 others, and 3 personal productions!
In addition, we produced 8 videos and 50 articles for Fantia. (Patreon is a translation of Fantia articles, so it is omitted.)
It seemed needless to say that spending too much time on video was leading to a deterioration in GK production efficiency. So we need to further streamline the editing process.
I need to cut out parts that are not necessary to show much, stop diversifying the shooting angles and return to simplicity, simplify showcasing parts...I think these are the things I need to do.
I am also in a situation where I cannot make the kits I personally want to make because it takes too much time to shoot and edit, so I would like to make simpler changes today. I have found throughout the year that no matter how elaborate I am, the viewer retention rate is low and I don't get advertisements....
In the end, this year, I have been producing about one model a month, but I would like to complete 15 to 20 next year if possible.
I will probably have to do some work unrelated to modeling, but I think I can make it work if I streamline my work in various ways
I hope you have a happy New Year!
