[Photo & Making Process]Hololive - Gawr Gura sculpted by Takatori (Fujiyama Sankaku)

Here are the photos of the finished product and the making process of Fujiyama Sankaku's Gura!

I had taken a lot of pictures of the finished figure, but there were no pictures of the Making process.

Therefore, I would like to summarize the making process by inserting captured images from Youtube. It is very convenient to make a video at times like this.

The size of the figure is more like a statue than a figure, and the pose is very dynamic, so I feel a great sense of accomplishment when the figure is completed. If you haven't assembled it yet, do it soon!

■Removing tabs, seam line, and dry fitting

First, while checking the parts, the seam line is treated and the polishing proceeds.

The back of the hair is wavy and difficult to polish as it is.

Therefore,  bend it by applying hot air with an embossing heater or the like.

Apply heat for a certain period of time and it will gradually soften. At that timing, spread it slowly.

This makes narrow areas much easier to polish.

In this way, all hair that is difficult to polish is treated in the same way.

The forelocks are narrower, so they are polished using a reverse-action sander.

This is it. A reverse-action sander with brass wire bent properly, alligator clips attached, and sandpaper bites. I made it myself. It's insanely useful, so if you haven't made one yet, do it!

The hair can be changed with or without the hood, which is a very nice feature for fans.

The density of the hair is great, so I think it would be better to spend more time polishing it to get a better finish.

■ Painting

I rarely use raw paint, so I cannot give a "I used this color" look at all. Basically, I mix pure colors and pre-existing colors, or if necessary, I mix a white surfacer to make a color that is close to that of the material.

For example, hair color is from a gray surfacer mixed with a white surfacer.

A thin coat of gray with a hint of blue is applied afterwards.

I am masking to add mesh color to the bangs, but I had to make a video of a partial masking mistake.

The result of correct masking is shown below.

I repainted the upper section blue. It looked better this way.

Then install and check.

If it looks right from any direction, it should be fine.

The pigtail of the hoodless hairstyle also has a mesh color if you look at the design, so mask and paint this one as well.

I'm applying blue to the left tassel and light color to the right tassel, respectively, as seen from yourself.

If you feel no discomfort when installing this one, it is OK.

Now, Bloop's line of sight is centered assuming it is facing forward.

You should be very careful with the pupils of these eyes because they tend to be drawn as if they are strabismic if you are not careful.

■Gura's eyes painting

This is the painting of Gura-chan's eyes, the line drawing was very easy.

It was easy to find the best position for the eyebrows if I drew them after setting the bangs.

Recently I have been painting the skin tone after I finish painting the eyes, but on this occasion I painted the skin tone first. For simple kits, it is easier to paint the skin tone first.

I did not repaint the face on this Gura either.

Once the line drawing is done, clear coat and wait for curing. Then airbrush onto the lashes to make a gradient.

The eyes were painted light blue for the base color and a darker light blue around the pupils.

Airbrush clear blue on top of this. The lighter the underside is, the more beautiful the gradation becomes, so I did it that way.

By the way, my eyesight was deteriorating so much at that time that I could not make sharp eyes. I would like to make more sharp eyes next time I have a chance.

The iris is light blue on the lower side and changes color to a darker blue toward the upper side.

The eyes are painted with highlights, etc.

Then add red color with enamel clear red near the blush and lower lip.

I actually have the most fun when applying this blush, as it makes the character's expression more lively.

I painted the spear like this.

The slight green gives it a beautiful clear look.

So, that's it for the production process, which is difficult to convey in a video.
